Chapter 897 Staying with you is meaningless
“Huo Nanxiao doesn’t lack this money,” Xia Ningxi readily reassured him.
Xia Jingcheng: "I'm not worried about Huo Nanxiao, but about Xia Wanwan. She knows that Huo Nanxiao gave us so much money for food, and she'll probably cause trouble for him. Her family is so calculating, she might get jealous."

Xia Ningxi chuckled: "Yes, but as a husband, you have an obligation to protect your wife."
"For example?" Huo Nanxiao's voice was slightly deep.
Xia Ningxi: "Take her away from this place of trouble."
"A warm invitation followed by verbal humiliation, is this how you deal with me?" Huo Nanxiao sneered.
Xia Ningxi: "Yes, so what? You don't have many choices. You're a smart person. You should know whether to continue wasting your time on me and the child or to live a good life with Xia Wanwan."
Huo Nanxiao was seething with anger. They had been husband and wife for so many years, and she knew exactly what he was thinking. She seemed to be persuading him to return to his family, but in reality, she wanted to completely sever ties with him.

"Then feed it to the dogs," Huo Yuan said regretfully.
Xia Ningxi laughed even louder: "You're such a cute child."
She hugged Huo Yuan and gave him two kisses, making the little guy's face turn red.
"Mommy, stop kissing me!" Huo Yuan covered his face with his hands.
Xia Ningxi pinched Huo Yuan's chubby little face: "Good boy, go play, come back at nine o'clock sharp to take a bath and go to bed."
"Okay." Huo Yuan nodded obediently.
The three little ones took off running to play in the sand, each one more excited than the last.
The family was very happy, especially Xia Ningxi, who was so happy to receive so much money that she would be waking up with joy tonight.
"I wonder how Huo Nanxiao is doing now. He must be very angry, right?" Xia Ningxi muttered to herself.
Meanwhile, Huo Nanxiao was driving Xia Wanwan home.
The two originally lived in the same place, but because Huo Nanxiao deliberately avoided her, Xia Wanwan had been living alone in the villa.
"Are you going back to the company tonight?" Xia Wanwan asked.
Huo Nanxiao said, "I'll take you back first."

"Why do you ask that?" Huo Nanxiao raised an eyebrow.
Xia Wanwan said, "This is your new home, the villa you bought to settle down in Lingcheng. But since I moved in, you haven't lived here anymore. Is it because of me that you don't want to go home?"
"You're overthinking it. I've been very busy lately." Huo Nanxiao still didn't answer the question directly.
Xia Wanwan gave a wry smile: "I'm not stupid. Even if you don't say it, I know what's going on in my mind. Since when did we start having to be wary of each other?"
She didn't understand why Huo Nanxiao would do this. Was she really that terrifying to Huo Nanxiao? But she hadn't done anything wrong.
Xia Wanwan felt very wronged.

Huo Nanxiao said, "I'll be leaving in a bit."
Xia Wanwan's hand, which was brewing tea, froze. She forced a smile and said, "Do you really have to leave right away? This is your home too."
