Chapter 8 She was just a stranger
"You know better than anyone whose son Huo Yuan is, so why won't you let me get close to him?" Xia Ningxi questioned.
Huo Nanxiao's gaze gradually turned cold, and the strength in his palm increased in an instant.
Xia Ningxi's face turned pale, and without hesitation, she picked up the kettle on the table and smashed it at Huo Nanxiao.

"Daddy... could you please stop making things difficult for that aunt?" Huo Yuan suddenly spoke up.
Huo Nanxiao was taken aback. "Why?"
"She didn't do anything wrong. It's my fault that I dragged her into this. I'll be obedient from now on. Could you... please not make things difficult for her?" Huo Yuan pleaded, afraid that Xia Ningxi would be implicated because of him.
