Xia Ningxi felt a sharp pain in her shoulder; someone had bitten her hard. Who else could it be but Huo Nanxiao, that madman!

Xia Ningxi cursed under her breath.
In the darkness, the man angrily pinched her cheek: "You'd better not try anything funny under my nose."
Xia Ningxi felt guilty. She wanted to take Huo Yuan away, but not now. Had Huo Nanxiao noticed?

Still half-asleep, Xia Ningxi habitually kissed the little guy on the forehead and rubbed his head. It was a very routine gesture, something Xia Ningxi did almost every day upon waking, but she forgot that the child in front of her wasn't Xia Xingxing.
Huo Yuan's face turned so red it was almost bleeding after being suddenly kissed.
"I...I'm not your son," he explained tremblingly, bowing his head shyly.
Xia Ningxi was taken aback, then realized that this was a hospital and the person in front of her was Huo Yuan, not Xia Xingxing. No wonder the little guy was frightened.
Xia Ningxi smiled gently and affectionately ruffled Huo Yuan's hair.
Huo Yuan's cheeks turned even redder. No one had ever rubbed his head like this before. This doctor was so gentle. He liked him so much. If only his mother could kiss him every morning when she woke up.
But his mother would never wake up.
Huo Yuan suddenly felt very down.
Xia Ningxi noticed and asked, "What's wrong? Who upset you?"
"I'm fine, I'm hungry," Huo Yuan replied.
"I'll go buy you breakfast." Xia Ningxi stood up immediately.
Huo Yuan shook his head: "No, my aunt will bring me breakfast. She should be here soon. You should go now."
Xia Ningxi was puzzled.
Huo Yuan said, "My aunt doesn't want me to eat out, so she makes me breakfast every day."
