Chapter 46 I Won't Lie to You
Xia Ningxi had been watching Huo Nanxiao's expression closely, but found that the man showed no unusual behavior, which puzzled her.
"Are you done talking?" the man suddenly said coldly.
Zhou Fenglin was taken aback, noticing Huo Nanxiao's overly cold attitude. She said, "Does Young Master Huo also believe her words?"
"I believe you," Huo Nanxiao said firmly.
When those two words were uttered, Zhou Fenglin's entire expression changed.
Xia Ningxi was utterly shocked. Huo Nanxiao believed her? In all these years, this was the first time she had ever heard Huo Nanxiao say such a thing. She was deeply shaken.
She looked at Huo Nanxiao without saying a word.

Huo Nanxiao's aura turned cold. Just then, Xia Ningxi returned from outside and heard Huo Yuan's question. She stopped in her tracks, and her heart suddenly stopped beating for a moment.
Huo Yuan must have already become suspicious when he saw Xia Xingxing, right?
So how would Huo Nanxiao respond?
Xia Ningxi seemed to stop breathing; she desperately wanted to know Huo Nanxiao's answer.
Huo Nanxiao didn't look at her, but answered Huo Yuan in a very firm tone: "Xia Wanwan is your mother."

Xia Ningxi gave a bitter smile to herself, pretending not to have heard anything.
Huo Yuan was also disappointed when he heard the answer. He had actually wanted to ask his father what his relationship was with Dr. Xia.
Huo Yuan wasn't stupid. From the time he could remember, he knew that Huo Nanxiao had never had a woman by his side. Even though Xia Wanwan had become a vegetable and hadn't woken up for so many years, Huo Nanxiao still hadn't gone out to find a woman.
For at least all these years, he has maintained a clean reputation and has never been involved in any scandals, nor has anyone heard of Huo Nanxiao getting too close to any woman.
However, Huo Yuan was a little unsure about his father's attitude towards Dr. Xia.
He really started to believe that Xia Ningxi was his mother.
However, after hearing Huo Nanxiao's firm words, Huo Yuan wavered: "Would Daddy lie to me?"
"No," Huo Nanxiao replied.
Huo Yuan was very disappointed; he lowered his head and remained silent.
Xia Ningxi remained quiet, as if nothing had happened.
The entire ward suddenly became eerily quiet.
Huo Yuan noticed that Xia Ningxi had examined his left hand several times, but had missed examining the injury on his right hand. "Dr. Xia, this hand hasn't been examined."
Xia Ningxi snapped out of her reverie and smiled, "Sorry, I was daydreaming."
"It's nothing." Huo Yuan smiled at Xia Ningxi.
That smile was so sweet, it almost suffocated Xia Ningxi.
At this moment, Xia Ningxi really wanted to hug Huo Yuan and tell him that she was his mother. Xia Ningxi almost couldn't hold back her emotions, but when she saw Huo Nanxiao, she suppressed everything in her heart.
This man will not allow him to take Huo Yuan away.
Xia Ningxi's emotions remained unsettled for a long time. She couldn't stay in the ward any longer; the oppressive atmosphere almost drove her to the brink of collapse. She had no choice but to find an excuse to leave the ward.
Back in the consultation room, Xia Ningxi stared blankly at the ceiling, lost in thought.
The phone rang but I didn't hear it.
Chu Xinran called for the third time and someone finally answered: "Grandma, come out and play!"
"Where should we go?" Xia Ningxi was in a bad mood and wanted to go out to relax.
"I've given you the address of the bar. Hurry up, there's a surprise." Chu Xinran hung up the phone.
Xia Ningxi was puzzled. What kind of surprise could this guy possibly have? Could he possibly introduce her to a few patients?
After changing her clothes, Xia Ningxi took a taxi to the Flower Blossom Bar.
Chu Xinran waved to her from afar.
Xia Ningxi walked over quickly.
"Beautiful lady, would you like to have my phone number?" Suddenly, a roguish-looking man stopped Xia Ningxi and asked her with a smile.
"I'm sorry, no need."
Xia Ningxi stepped aside and quickly walked past him.
"Do you know that kid from earlier?" Chu Xinran asked, looking at Xia Ningxi who was walking over.
"I don't know him," Xia Ningxi denied directly.
Chu Xinran asked in confusion, "Then how could I stop you?"
Xia Ningxi answered truthfully, "I need a phone number."
Chu Xinran laughed and said, "A beautiful woman is different. People asked for your phone number as soon as you walked in. But you have to be careful, there are plenty of playboys in places like this."
"How many people are there?" Xia Ningxi asked.
Chu Xinran said, "Just the two of us, let's drink to our hearts' content. Look, this wine was specially prepared for you. Aren't you happy?"
"I'll just sit for a bit. You know doctors can't drink alcohol, or they won't be able to hold the scalpel properly," Xia Ningxi replied.
Chu Xinran: "Your hand won't heal in less than ten days to two weeks, right? Do you think the hospital will let you go on the operating table?"
"No, but I need to bandage Huo Yuan's wound. If my hands shake, I might not be able to control the pressure properly, and it will hurt him." Xia Ningxi's eyes softened as she thought of Huo Yuan.
Chu Xinran said, "How badly is Young Master Huo injured? Your hospital seems very concerned about him."
"The injury was quite serious, but fortunately, the child's wound heals quickly, and he can already get out of bed and walk around," Xia Ningxi answered truthfully.
"Then you can have a Coke, cheers." Xu Yan poured her a glass.
Xia Ningxi smiled and sat down to drink cola with her.
The two chatted and laughed, and seemed to be having a good time.
Halfway through the meal, someone came up to chat and asked if the two of them could add each other on WeChat.
Xia Ningxi refused, but Chu Xinran was very enthusiastic and accepted all comers.
Xia Ningxi silently drank her cola to the side.
The people who came to chat with Chu Xinran also noticed Xia Ningxi and were surprised to find that Xia Ningxi seemed to be prettier. They all went up to chat her up, and even after being rejected, they wouldn't leave until they got her phone number, which made Xia Ningxi a little angry.
She put down her Coke and said slowly, "I just returned to China and haven't gotten a phone number yet."
“Beautiful lady, you don’t look very old. Are you an international student? Which country are you studying in? Can you tell me?” One of the men, who looked rather roguish, said as he walked over and sat down next to Xia Ningxi, not forgetting to reach out his hand to try and take advantage of her.
Xia Ningxi frowned, grabbed the outstretched hand, and her eyes turned cold: "Please have some self-respect."
