Chapter 101 Ferris Wheel

When they came out, the sun was still shining brightly. They walked a few steps and looked at the road signs and notices.

Xu Lang: "Shall we eat with them tonight?" He thought for a moment, "Or should we find a place for them to eat, and we can just have our own?"

Gu Li looked at Jiang Chen, "Brother, you decide. After all, you took the blame for me."

Jiang Chen waved his hand dismissively, "Brother, you're being too polite. It's such a small matter." He then looked at Jiang Xu, "Brother, you decide."

Jiang Xu said, "There are exactly seven people. Let's be democratic and vote."

The final decision was to eat separately. Just then, Jiang Chen's phone rang. He opened it and a bright smile spread across his face.

Gu Li: "What good thing happened? You seem so happy."

Jiang Chen: "Hehe, I made a friend. He's the one I walked with the whole way when you guys were doing the challenges. He's the one who wore a mask."

Jiang Xu: "He's the one who dragged you away, isn't he? You don't hold a grudge at all."

Jiang Chen shook his head. "There's no grudge between us. He's a nice guy." He finished speaking as if recalling something. "He's just a little awkward."

Xu Lang said, "Little brother, the world is a dangerous place, and people's hearts are no longer what they used to be. I just have one question," he pointed to Jiang Chen's phone, "Do you know what that person's name is?"

Lu Chao nodded. "Did you tell them your name?"

Jiang Chen paused for a moment before replying, "I really don't know. I didn't tell him my name either. You guys reminded me." He then looked down at his phone, "I'll ask him now."

Gu Li and Jiang Xu exchanged a glance. Gu Li tilted her head and said, "Your younger brother is really unconcerned with details."

Jiang Xu: "Maybe I'm a bit thick-skinned."

Gu Li curled the corners of his lips. "A thicker one is better, a thicker one is better." He sighed like an old man.

However, Ji Hai overheard the gist of it and turned to Gu Li, lowering his voice, "Don't talk nonsense in broad daylight, what are you saying, Gu Li?" He smiled apologetically at Jiang Xu, "This kid is full of nonsense, some of his words are not pleasant to hear, Jiang Xu, just listen selectively, we're all like that."

Gu Li's lips flattened. "Aunt Ji," he said, his voice trailing off, "I'm not talking nonsense, Jiang Xu, you tell me." He looked at Jiang Xu, as if he wanted him to testify for him.

Jiang Xu knew that his words just now didn't mean anything by any other reason, but without considering the context, they could easily be misinterpreted. He smiled and nodded to Ji Hai, "Okay, I understand."

Ji Hai looked at Gu Li and said, "Don't mess with people."

Jiang Xu teased them for a bit, and when he saw that it was about time, he said, "But Gu Li really didn't say anything nonsense. We were just saying that Jiang Chen is a bit thick-skinned."

Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu and Ji Hai, "There's no love left. In this despairing world, where is trust? Where is morality?" After he finished speaking, he looked at Jiang Chen, "Little brother, where is the name you asked about?"

Jiang Chen looked up when he heard Gu Li's words, "Brother, you also think I didn't make the wrong friends, right?"

Looking at Jiang Chen's trusting eyes, Gu Li nodded without any guilt, "That's right, after all, you have excellent taste." Praising him so soon after meeting him meant Jiang Chen was definitely a good kid.

Jiang Chen exclaimed with delight, "He replied to me!" His voice was filled with surprise. "His name is Zhao Yao."

Gu Li felt the name sounded familiar. He had a good memory and must have seen it before to recognize it, but now was not the time to think about it too much.

After the thrilling rides in the morning and the haunted house in the afternoon, the group tacitly chose some more relaxing activities.

Today was a beautiful sunny day, so the evening sky was exceptionally beautiful. The clouds seemed to have been blown about by the wind, leaving long streaks that were beautifully colored by the afterglow.

Gu Li said, "Luckily, this is Xu Lang's family's property, otherwise it would have been a big boast if I had invited them to dinner."

Xu Lang said, "You're being modest. Even if it's not from my family, you can still make sure your words don't go unfulfilled."

Gu Li curled the corners of her lips. "Wow, you're praising me so much. Well then, I'll admit I'm really amazing."

Lu Chao sighed, "This is clearly saying that you're outrageous."

Jiang Xu laughed too, "I really want to see what you, Rashi, look like."

Gu Li looked at the sky. "In the future, there will be opportunities."

The sun set below the horizon, casting a beautiful, subtle red glow. From his vantage point, he could see what looked like a Ferris wheel hanging beside the sea.

The Ferris wheel turned slowly, and Gu Li blinked a few times as she watched him.

Jiang Xu followed Gu Li's gaze to the sky and saw the scenery he saw. "Friends," he said, raising his hand as he spoke, "let's go ride that." His fingertip pointed at the Ferris wheel.

Gu Li turned to look at Jiang Xu, and saw the brilliance of the sunset in his eyes. So he said, "Let's go, friends." His gaze then turned to his friends beside him, and he noticed...

Everyone's eyes were filled with the glow of dawn, and the young man stood against the wind, his youthful vigor naturally radiating.

Everyone is bathed in the glow of the sunset.

The Ferris wheel was very large, but perhaps because it was lunchtime, there weren't too many people queuing.

There were too many of them to sit together, so they discussed it while waiting in line. Jiang Xu looked around and suggested, "Let's have three people in one group and four people in another."

Gu Li nodded. "How should we divide it?"

Xu Lang: "It's like the palm or the back of your hand, clear and obvious yet random."

Lü Chao nodded, "I think it's a good idea."

Seven people made a move, but the outcome was not quite right; five people showed their palms, and two people showed the backs of their hands.

Xie Tao: "Let's announce that Jiang Xu and Gu Li were alone together."

Xu Lang and Lü Chao exchanged a glance, and Xu Lang spoke first, "Oh dear, how unfriendly."

Lu Chao said, "Gu Li himself said this a long time ago: once the bet is placed, it's done. Now that the bet is placed, let's leave it at that."

Ji Hai: "I did say that."

Xu Lang gave Lü Chao a thumbs-up when no one could see him. "Well, there's nothing we can do about it then. Let's leave it at that."

Jiang Chen said, "I think," his words immediately drawing the attention of all six people, "that five people sitting together is fine too, it's fine as it is."

In the end, that's really how it is.

The Ferris wheel was a bit empty for the two of them; they could sit side by side or face each other. Jiang Xu sat down first, and the other person sat on the side, where there was room for one more person.

But he didn't sit on the very edge; it wouldn't have seemed out of place if Gu Li had sat opposite him.

It all depends on Gu Li's choice.

Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu, who then looked out the window after sitting down, leaving behind a cryptic image of the back of his head.

Gu Li didn't dwell on it; he decided his position the moment he took his first step on the Ferris wheel.

Gu Li sat down next to Jiang Xu, patted Jiang Xu on the shoulder, and said after Jiang Xu turned around, "Wait for me while you're admiring the scenery. It's not very nice of you to look at it all by yourself."

Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li and said, "Let me take a look at it for you first. It's pretty good." His eyes curved into a gentle smile. "Let's look at it together now."

Gu Li smiled and said, "Okay." He thought that today's sunset might be the most beautiful one yet.
