Chapter 129 Morning and Breakfast

Gu Li took a long time to recover. There was another glass of water beside him. He looked up and saw it.

Xie Tao sighed, "He was just being cheeky, planning to say something like, 'You're our son, what's the rush?'"

Xu Lang said, "I can't even talk about our son anymore. I'm not going to say anything more. Here, have some water to calm down." He pushed the water towards him.

Jiang Xu waited for Gu Li to drink some water, then asked, "Are you feeling better?"

Gu Li choked quite a bit, a faint redness remaining at the corners of his eyes. "I'm alright, I'm fine." He looked at Xu Lang, "Lang, you've been climbing on the roof for three days straight, haven't you?"

Xu Lang shook his head, "Telling the truth is our principle, and that cannot be broken."

Xie Tao steered the conversation back on track, "The new menu is indeed ready. How about we have it as a celebration dinner on Saturday night?"

Jiang Xu chimed in, "A victory celebration banquet?"

Xie Tao nodded. "If we're together, what chance do we have of losing?" he said matter-of-factly.

Gu Li moved over a bit to make room for Jiang Xu, then reached out and pulled Jiang Xu's soda over to place it in front of him. "Well, let's just go for it then. Otherwise, it's not very interesting to just crush the opponent after we've practiced for a while." His actions were natural.

Jiang Xu glanced at the soda in front of him and gently gripped the glass. "Yeah, let's have some fun then."

Xu Lang nodded. "Should we save it for dinner?"

Gu Li shook her head, "No, let's eat together on Saturday."

Jiang Xu said, "That will make it more anticipated."

Xu Lang: "Alright, what should we do now?"

Gu Li said, "We'll sit and chat for a bit, then we'll say goodbye and you two can go back to your afternoon nap," he thought for a moment and then said, "How about that?"

Xie Tao: "You'll make the arrangements."

The sound of the air conditioner running, accompanied by the chatter of a few people, filled the air on a summer afternoon, while the bubbles in the sparkling water dissipated and then reappeared as they moved around.

The small bottle reflects a corner of summer, which then spreads to become the whole picture of summer.

The young people laughed, laughing easily and leisurely in every day they spent together.

The rest of the week was peaceful. Gu Li would occasionally disappear, but she would often appear at the classroom door before class and come to Jiang Xu's side.

The pendulum ticked slowly, and Saturday arrived.

A ray of morning light pierced the room, and the black-haired youth on the bed trembled slightly with his eyelashes. Jiang Xu woke up and turned his head to look in the direction of the window.

When Gu Li's doorbell rang, he was looking at the documents in his hand. He had been quite busy lately, and some things were coming up soon.

He got up from the sofa to open the door, ruffling his hair and straightening his clothes as he went. He smiled when he saw Jiang Xu standing at the door. "Why are you here so early?"

Jiang Xu glanced at Gu Li and said, "You're here pretty early too."

Gu Li rubbed the back of his head, looking rather lazy. "It's alright, it's alright."

Jiang Xu: "Can I go in?"

Gu Li stepped aside. "Come in, come in."

Jiang Xu walked into the room, turned on the light, and the room became much brighter. He then saw the papers scattered and piled on the coffee table. "Are you busy?"

Gu Li waved her hand, "It's alright, not too busy."

Jiang Xu said, "Then turn on the light too, it's not good for your eyes."

Gu Li said, "Okay, I'll remember next time." He pointed to the sofa, "Please sit down first. I'll get you a drink. Hot water, coffee, or tea?"

Jiang Xu said, "I've eaten your cooking before, how about I make you breakfast?"

Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu, somewhat surprised, "Are you sure you can?"

Jiang Xu nodded calmly, "Breakfast is fine. You go ahead and do your work. I'll call you when it's ready."

Gu Li said, "Then I won't be polite. Next time, I definitely won't let you suffer a loss."

Jiang Xu said with a smile, "Okay, fine." He looked at Gu Li, who had already sat cross-legged on the sofa and started looking at the documents again. "Let's talk about next time next time."

The soft sounds of flowing water and the gentle hum of machinery, along with the slowly rising fragrance, brought a sense of peace to Gu Li, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Even the documents in his hands and the act of typing on the keyboard became less tedious, and the feeling of being bothered by the documents lessened. He glanced at the floor-to-ceiling window.

It was just dawn outside the window, the clouds were tinged with light, the leaves swayed gently, everything looked like the early morning, everything was quiet.

He pressed the last Enter key, and morning truly arrived; he woke up.

They sat quietly eating breakfast. Jiang Xu noticed that Gu Li's glass of milk was almost empty and then asked, "Are you full?"

Gu Li wiped her hands and mouth with a tissue and nodded. "I'm full. I didn't expect you to be so capable. Most importantly, the milk was at the perfect temperature."

Jiang Xu, "Wasn't the milk at the perfect temperature before?"

Gu Li thought back for a moment and realized that it was always quite warm. He thought it was great. "It was always just right. You are a master of temperature control."

Jiang Xu laughed, "You're a master of compliments too," he wiped his hands, "We should go. Lu Chao and the others have gone to Xu Lang's place, saying they'd warm up together first."

Gu Li nodded, "It's time to warm up. It's been a while since we've played. If we get cramps, we'll be laughed at."

Jiang Xu: "You have a cramp? I think you get plenty of exercise."

Gu Li said, "I'm worried about you all. Don't let your brother's good intentions go to waste."

Jiang Xu: "Thank you so much."

Gu Li: "No need to thank me, let's go."

The morning breeze was cool and felt nice against their skin. The two strolled slowly along the road. Gu Li stretched and said, "It's so nice to take a walk after breakfast."

Jiang Xu: "Shouldn't we take a stroll around dinnertime?"

Gu Li: "That's true, shall we take a walk tonight?"

Jiang Xu, seeing his impulsive nature, said, "Alright, let's call it a night."

When the two arrived at the shop, the four people were arguing about something. When Lü Chao saw them, he beckoned them over, "Come on, come on, you two are arguing about what to eat for breakfast. What do you think we should eat?"

Gu Liyang laughed, "You've come to the right person." He winked at Jiang Xu and then walked away, "We've already eaten." There was a hint of smugness in his tone.

The four people who were discussing looked over, and Ji Hai asked Gu Li, "What did you eat?"

Gu Li pointed at Jiang Xu with her fingertip, "Jiang Xu's version of sandwiches and milk, so delicious it's boring."

Lu Chao rolled his eyes. "I don't know if you're bored, but we're definitely going to be bored. You really know how to show off."

Jiang Xu smiled and said, "Next time we go to Pear Blossom Courtyard, I'll let you all try it."

Xu Lang: "That's great, let's visit each other sometime."

Xie Tao nodded, "Don't worry, we'll prepare a gift for your visit."

Gu Li waved her hand, "Don't believe them, they'll only say it verbally."

They chatted idly and hastily decided what to eat. After eating, they sat together for half an hour to digest. Gu Li looked at her watch and said, "Come on, it's about time to warm up."
