The group came into the shop and leaned on the table to enjoy the air conditioning for a while. Then, someone's stomach rumbled first. After a couple of seconds of silence, Xu Lang spoke up, "I'm hungry. What about you guys?"
Boys get hungry quickly, and since they had only eaten breakfast that day, they were all a little hungry.
Lu Chao replied, "I'm hungry and tired, I don't want to move at all."
Xie Tao said, "If I don't eat, it's not like I can't do anything."
Lü Chao said, "No, that won't do. New dishes have been released, and I have to try them all."
Ji Hai: "Then you can't shirk your responsibilities."
Gu Li yawned, "I'll rest for two more minutes, just two minutes."
For teenagers, two minutes can sometimes feel like one two-minute interval after another, and sometimes it really is just two minutes. When the alarm clock rings, the two minutes are gone just like that.
Gu Li looked up in the direction of the voice, "Chao Zi, are you serious?"
Lu Chao tapped his phone, and the alarm clock stopped ringing. "Go back and rest well after you finish eating. You look like you should go back and get some rest."
Ji Hai looked at Gu Li and yawned again. "Let's start, everyone's hungry."
They had known each other for a long time, and Gu Li knew they were concerned about him. He sat up and stretched, "Let's go, I'm completely refreshed."
Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li's spirited appearance and pressed his shoulder, "The wounded should rest."
Gu Li looked up at Jiang Xu standing behind her and said, "That won't do. We don't freeload."
Jiang Xu looked down at Gu Li and gently squeezed the other's shoulder. "I'll take care of the portion you're making."
Gu Li, "That's so nice?"
Jiang Xu nodded, "Who told me to do more work when I'm capable?" He reached out and patted Gu Li's head, "You should lie down and rest."
Lu Chao didn't give Gu Li a chance to refuse, "Let's go, let's go, let this patient be alone."
The five people walked towards the kitchen. Gu Li leaned on the table, watching their backs. Just as they were about to enter the kitchen, Jiang Xu turned around.
The two looked at each other across the distance. Gu Li saw a gentle smile on Jiang Xu's lips, and he smiled back at him.
Fine dust particles floated gently in the sunlight.
The meal was prepared quickly. The group sat around the table, and Gu Li, who was sitting upright, suddenly clapped her hands. When the others looked over, she gave a seal-like clapping, saying, "You've all worked hard."
Lu Chao put down the chopsticks he had just picked up and said, "Tell me, who among us has worked the hardest?"
Gu Li looked at the group of people. "That's a bit hard to say," but he didn't hesitate to say, "To be fair, the one who worked the hardest will get it," he said with a hint of pride, "I'll take it myself."
Xu Lang's chopsticks suddenly slammed against the edge of the bowl, making a sound. He looked at Gu Li with a helpless expression and said, "You really don't hold back."
Jiang Xu said, "When has he ever been polite?" He was a little helpless, but he wanted to laugh more.
Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu and smiled even more brightly, "You took my share, so I will definitely award you second place." He spread his hands and waved at Jiang Xu, "Jiang Xu, you deserve second place."
Xie Tao: "You can put away your unofficial ranking list now."
The meal was eaten quickly. The dishes looked exquisite and tasted excellent. Everyone was indeed hungry, and they all seemed to be wolfing down their food.
Ji Hai wiped his mouth with a tissue. "This new dish was a great success! You two are really good at making money."
"Hehe," Xu Lang smiled broadly, "Right? Tao has been researching this for a long time and has tried it several times. Success is a certainty."
Xie Tao, "Be humble."
Lü Chao said, "You two laugh in exactly the same way, and you really don't need to be modest, it's absolutely amazing."
Gu Li folded the tissue. "I haven't been this full in ages. If I stayed here all the time, I'd definitely get fat." He looked at Jiang Xu as if he had just thought of something. "Sigh, should I come with you more often?"
Jiang Xu: "My weight is already normal."
Gu Li tilted her head. "Really?"
Xu Lang: "Take off your filter. Jiang Xu was a bit thin at first, but now he's definitely the right height for him."
Jiang Xu nodded, "He looks healthier than you."
Gu Li shook her head. "That's absolutely impossible."
Ji Hai glanced at the table. "I think that's enough. Jiang Xu, you should take Gu Li back to rest. He's already yawned five times."
Gu Li, "Hmm?"
Lü Chao said, "Don't doubt it, there really are that many, and they're going to infect us all."
Jiang Xu nodded, "Next time we need to clean up, Gu Li and I will take care of it."
Xu Lang waved his hand, "Alright, that's what I've been waiting for."
They waved goodbye at the door, the stark temperature difference between indoors and outdoors amplifying their senses. They said, "See you next time," and the next time wouldn't be far away.
Jiang Xu and Gu Li stood at the door. Jiang Xu stopped halfway through opening the door. "Take a nap. Call me when you wake up."
Gu Li's reaction was a little slow. "Is something wrong? Tell me now."
Jiang Xu: "It's nothing, I was just worried you'd get a brain fart from sleeping too much."
Gu Li said, “You’re overthinking it. Someone as smart as me isn’t usually stupid,” he said, turning the door key. “But I will call you.”
Jiang Xu: "Okay, that's good."
Gu Li turned her head to look over, "Are you sure nothing's wrong?"
Jiang Xu: "Really, no, go to sleep."
Gu Li nodded. "If anything happens, just call me. My phone isn't on silent." He said, shaking his phone.
Jiang Xu smiled and nodded, "Okay, go ahead."
Gu Li collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep almost immediately after closing his eyes. He was really tired; he had been staying up for several nights in a row, his nerves were on edge, and he hadn't been sleeping well.
I felt a bit more relaxed today. The soft blankets smelled of sunshine, which reminded me a little of that person.
Gu Li's phone wasn't on silent, but instead of Jiang Xu's call, it rang and woke him up.
After pressing the answer button, the phone screen showed that same string of numbers again. This time, he took the initiative to speak, "You've been quite free lately?"
“I’m never idle. I think you’re the one who’s too idle. You don’t even know what you’re doing all day long.”
Gu Li rubbed his hair. "I know," he answered decisively. "And bye." He hung up the phone immediately.
He sat up, unlocked his phone, and tapped the first number.
The light from the phone illuminated Gu Li's face, softening his features, and perhaps his features were indeed very gentle at that moment.
Gu Li cleared her throat and said the moment the call was answered, "Hello, Jiang Xu."
Hearing the voice on the other end of the phone, Jiang Xu glanced at the coffee table in front of him and stood up. "Yes, I'm here," he said, walking to the door and gently closing it behind him. "Perfect timing."
Gu Li was somewhat confused. "What's just right?"
