Jiang Xu came out quickly, his hair still slightly damp. He tossed his hair in front of the mirror, and a smile appeared in his eyes as if he had thought of something. With that smile, he arrived at Gu Li's door.
He rang the doorbell, waited a while but no one came out, and was about to ring it a second time.
"Jiang Xu!"
As soon as the sound rang out, Jiang Xu turned his head and saw four people walking towards him, slightly out of breath. Jiang Xu walked towards them as well. "Why are you here?" He had a feeling that something was wrong.
Ji Hai stood at the front, looking Jiang Xu up and down. After checking and finding that he seemed to be fine, he asked, "Are you feeling unwell anywhere?"
Jiang Xu asked, "I'm fine. Where's Gu Li?" He frowned, his voice filled with worry, hoping that things hadn't changed.
When Ji Hai heard Jiang Xu mention 'Gu Li', he subconsciously turned his head to look at the other three. Lü Chao stepped forward and said, "Gu Li had some urgent business to attend to and asked us to come and see you."
Jiang Xu frowned even more deeply. "The matter is so urgent that he lives right next door, yet I have to ask you all for help." He looked at the group earnestly. "Then I would like to ask you to let me help him."
Silence spread, then Xie Tao spoke first, "Let's go inside and talk, then you'll know everything, and we can make a decision then."
The group sat down on the sofa, and Jiang Xu straightened his back. "There's not much to drink at home, so I won't entertain you."
Xu Lang nodded, "We don't need these, Jiang Xu, don't be in such a hurry."
Jiang Xu said, "Hmm, I'm not in a hurry." The veins on the back of his hand were particularly prominent.
The group looked at Ji Hai, who was the last to speak. "This morning I received a call from Gu Li. He told me that you had fainted, and since he couldn't come, we rushed over."
Jiang Xu nodded, his tone sincere, "Thank you everyone."
Ji Hai shook his head. "No need to talk about that. He didn't tell me about it, but it's probably related to his family. Something like this has happened before." The three of them immediately turned their attention to Ji Hai. They didn't know whether they should say this or not, but Ji Hai started the conversation.
Jiang Xu naturally noticed their reaction, and he calmly replied, "A year ago, right?"
The four looked at Jiang Xu, and Ji Hai breathed a sigh of relief. "Well, it seems Gu Li has told you everything. The situation is probably similar to last time. His father had someone take him away, so there's no need to worry about his safety."
Jiang Xu spoke naturally, "Then that means I should worry about something else. What is it?" His thoughts were clear, and he seemed to be in an orderly manner.
Ji Hai lowered his eyes. "I'm sorry, we don't know either. Li Yi didn't mention that matter to us after a year. He just said he resolved it." He sighed. "No one can get information out of someone who doesn't want to talk about it."
Jiang Xu replied, "Okay," he added, "What else did he say?"
Ji Hai looked at Jiang Xu with unwavering determination, "He asked you to wait for him for a week, and he will come to see you after a week."
“A week,” Jiang Xu said softly, almost as a murmur, then his voice became exceptionally clear, “What if I don’t want to wait?”
Ji Hai seemed surprised by Jiang Xu's question. He paused, and the group exchanged glances. Lü Chao also looked somewhat annoyed. "I really don't want to wait either." They had already waited for a year and really didn't want to wait any longer.
Xu Lang's expression flickered for a moment. He was about to raise his hand to say something when Xie Tao pressed his hand down. "Can you listen to me for a few words?" He knew these people and naturally knew what they meant.
Jiang Xu looked at Xie Tao, paused, and realized he didn't want to listen, but some things needed to be discussed. After a moment of silence, he finally spoke, "Okay." His voice was slightly hoarse.
Hearing the hoarse voice, Xie Tao swallowed and then said, "Jiang Xu, calm down."
Jiang Xu replied quickly, "I am very calm, extremely calm."
Xie Tao looked into Jiang Xu's eyes, which indeed concealed his emotions very well. "Gu Li can handle this. Trust him, okay?"
Jiang Xu said, "I believe in him, but I also want to help him."
Xie Tao: "Don't make things more complicated. A week isn't a long time, is it?"
Jiang Xu: "It's not that simple now; a week isn't a short time, is it?"
Xie Tao looked at Jiang Xu and felt that this gentle young man was quite different. Although his tone was still gentle, his whole person exuded a firmness that would not back down.
He is as firm as a rock, unshakeable.
Xie Tao pondered, he had to try again, "Jiang Xu, do you know that Gu Li cares about you a lot?"
Jiang Xu's brow relaxed for a moment. "I know, so I should go find him instead of waiting for a week." His tone became more and more determined.
Xie Tao nodded. "If you're in my shoes, that's how it is, but have you considered how worried he would be if you went against the Gu family?"
Jiang Xu paused for a moment, then said, "I can handle it."
Xie Tao said, "Yes, I believe you can handle it, but," he looked intently at Jiang Xu, "that's something Gu Li absolutely doesn't want to see."
Jiang Xu froze, his mind filled with the red-haired youth's features. Would he not want it? Would he want him to wait for him?
Ji Hai spoke up at just the right moment, “Jiang Xu,” he pulled the person’s gaze toward him, “Gu Li originally said half a month, but he seemed to have thought of something, and he suddenly said a week. I think it’s because of you, right? He asked us to persuade you to wait for him, and he will definitely come to find you on time.”
Jiang Xu closed his eyes and pondered, his mind in turmoil. When he opened his eyes again, he looked at Xie Tao and said, "If he doesn't come back in a week, don't drag me along."
Xie Tao looked back and said, "There's no stopping them now; it's a matter of going at it together."
Lu Chao lay back on the sofa and said, "Let's do it then. I've been wanting to cause a ruckus for a long time."
Xu Lang: "Yes, by then it won't matter what we say, we'll have to wait for Gu Li to tell us in person."
Ji Hai nodded, "I hope this week goes by quickly."
Jiang Xu looked out the window in the dark night and felt that time was passing very slowly; it was only the first day.
He went out onto the balcony. There were many stars in the sky tonight, but Jiang Xu still felt that the sky was quite empty. What made him feel even emptier was the balcony opposite.
He thought, now all that's missing is a handsome red-haired guy to light up that dark balcony.
Jiang Xu reached out and opened the window. As the wind rushed in, the first sound was the crisp tinkling of the wind chimes. He looked up and saw the wind chimes swaying gently in the night breeze.
That arc undoubtedly reminded him of that day, the day Gu Li and he leaned against each other, the day their hearts were pounding.
They got together to the sound of wind chimes, but now that the wind chimes are ringing again, his Gu Li is nowhere to be found.
Jiang Xu squatted on the ground, covering his face with his hands. He thought that the longing was something he couldn't resist at all; he could think of him in every detail of the room.
He spoke softly in the darkness, "Gu Li, I miss you."
