Gu Li felt Jiang Xu's hand behind his head. He looked into Jiang Xu's eyes, which held a smile. "Using this trick again?" He remembered that the last time he was carried in a princess carry, the positions were reversed in the same way. The memory came back clearly, and Gu Li felt a sense of novelty.
The novelty brought a unique kind of joy.
Jiang Xu rubbed his wet hair. "It's quite effective, isn't it?"
Gu Li raised an eyebrow. "It won't work next time."
Jiang Xu said, "What should I do? I want to try this again and again." His tone was a little troubled, but he smiled very gently at the person he was looking at.
Gu Li touched Jiang Xu's lips with her fingertip, "Is this a honey trap for your brother?" He was somewhat pleased.
Jiang Xu, "Will it work?"
Gu Li, "How about we take some more concrete action?"
“Hmm,” Jiang Xu nodded, “That works too.” He straightened up and quickly put on his clothes.
Gu Li propped her chin on her hand and watched Jiang Xu put on his clothes. Her gaze was no longer evasive as before, but rather she openly looked him over.
He discovered that Jiang Xu had really trained well. His previously sunken collarbones were simply due to his thinness, but now they were a more muscular and defined feature. His abdomen was no longer flat to the point of being somewhat concave, but instead had formed attractive muscle lines.
Gu Li was increasingly satisfied as he looked at it. He nodded slightly, just as Jiang Xu had finished changing and looked at it. "Are you so sleepy that you can't keep your head up?"
Gu Li stopped nodding. "Is it possible that I'm expressing my admiration for you?"
Jiang Xu reacted quickly, smiling at Gu Li, "Then thank you so much, Brother Li."
“No problem,” Gu Li smiled at Jiang Xu, his true colors barely concealed. “Now let’s get down to business.” Just as his fingertip was about to touch Jiang Xu’s face, his eyes lit up and he quickly moved it to his lips. “Just a touch will do.”
Jiang Xu watched Gu Li's smug, slightly raised chin and the corners of his mouth curled up even higher. He thought that everything seemed to be more vibrant since he came. He reached out his hand to Gu Li.
Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu's outstretched hand, then half-stood up and grabbed that hand, intending to pull Jiang Xu down.
Jiang Xu grasped Gu Li's hand, squeezed it gently, and then helped her up. Gu Li sat up with his help, and the two stood facing each other. Gu Li turned her head and asked, "Why aren't you lying down?"
Jiang Xu didn't answer Gu Li's question. He first touched the tip of his nose with Gu Li's, and then their lips touched, very lightly and quickly.
Gu Li felt as if a butterfly had landed on his lips and then flown away, so he went after the butterfly.
When Jiang Xu's lips touched the other's again, he closed his eyes. It was still a simple touch, but this time it lasted longer, and their breaths mingled and intertwined.
Even after separating, they remained very close face to face. Jiang Xu's voice carried a hint of laughter, "Just a moment?"
Gu Li nodded, "That's right, one for you, one for me, isn't that perfect?" His tone was full of self-righteousness.
Jiang Xu nodded in agreement, "That's perfect." He then pressed down on Gu Li's shoulder to make her sit on the edge of the bed, "If you sit down, I can blow-dry your hair."
Gu Li sat cross-legged and clapped her hands, "Looking forward to it!"
Jiang Xu: "What if I said this was the actual action I had just prepared?"
Gu Li suddenly clapped his hands in his ear. "That's strange," he said, looking puzzled. "I can hear you, but Jiang Xu, you seemed to be talking just now, but why couldn't I hear anything?"
Jiang Xu laughed, "Are you selectively listening?"
“Yes,” Gu Li admitted without hesitation, “I only listen to what sounds good.”
Jiang Xu said, "Okay," he looked at Gu Li and left with the words, "What just happened and what will happen next are all practical actions."
Gu Li watched Jiang Xu's retreating figure and said with a faint smile, "I understand."
When the warm air from the hairdryer appeared on his head, Gu Li subconsciously closed his eyes. This was a habit his mother used to have when she dried his hair. Gu Li couldn't help but think that he hadn't forgotten this habit.
But it has been a long time since then, and Gu Li finds it hard to describe that feeling—a kind of empty warmth, which was filled by Jiang Xu's warmth.
After closing his eyes, he could feel Jiang Xu's fingertips gently brushing his hair, and occasionally massaging it. He became more and more relaxed, and even the fatigue of the past week was relieved.
When Jiang Xu felt it was almost dry, he turned off the hairdryer. He gently ran his fingers through Gu Li's hair again and found that it was indeed almost dry.
Gu Li tilted his head back, resting it against Jiang Xu's body. He watched as the man closed his eyes, and Jiang Xu thought that the man was indeed tired, having fallen asleep in such a short time.
He put the hairdryer aside and was about to help Gu Li lie down properly on the bed when, just as he was doing so, Jiang Xu thought the person was asleep, but instead, he closed his eyes, hooked his arm around Gu Li's neck, and pulled him to lie down on the bed with him.
Jiang Xu looked at the person, who still had their eyes closed and seemed to be sleeping soundly, and asked, "Pretending to be asleep?"
Gu Li then opened his eyes. "No, I'm tired of keeping my eyes open, so I'm closing them to rest for a bit." He looked at Jiang Xu and said, "Why don't you close your eyes and rest for a bit too?"
Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li and saw that she seemed quite awake. "No need, I'm not tired."
Gu Li was lying down. "Then let's chat." His tone sounded quite cheerful, but he knew that the content was not so cheerful.
Jiang Xu: "Okay, we have plenty of time."
Gu Li: "But we need to speak quickly."
Jiang Xu, "Hmm?"
Gu Li, "Tomorrow is Saturday, and I can go do what I promised you tomorrow. You're not going to stop going with me just because I'm a week late, are you?"
Jiang Xu remembered the arrangements Gu Li had made a week ago. "No, I remember."
“Okay,” Gu Li replied, “Then we need to get up early!”
Jiang Xu: "That depends on whether you can get up early."
Gu Li said, "Then let's put it that way." His Adam's apple bobbed, and he knew he had to bring something up. "Jiang Xu," he turned his head and looked at Jiang Xu seriously, "is there anything you want to ask?"
“Yes,” Jiang Xu had indeed been waiting for Gu Li to come back these past few days to ask him properly, “but I hope you say what you want to say, and we can talk about the rest later.” They could take their time.
Gu Li was taken aback when he heard this, then lowered his head and suppressed a laugh, saying, "Actually, you can just ask, I'm willing to tell you, but it's fine if I take the initiative to tell you. But before I do, let me ask you, what's the situation with your unconsciousness?" He hadn't asked Jiang Xu since he came back and saw that he was fine, but now was a good time to ask.
Jiang Xu said, "There were some reasons, but it's alright now, and it won't happen again." He noticed the worry on Gu Li's face. "Can I tell you after you've finished talking?"
Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu carefully, then nodded, "Okay." He looked up at the ceiling, "Actually, there's something I never told you when I confessed my secret before, something I overlooked for a long time, something I only remembered after someone reminded me."
Gu Li paused for a moment before speaking, "Jiang Xu, I'm sick."
