Chapter 191 News about the Cellphone

Jiang Xu glanced at Gu Feng's expression and knew there was no need to refuse. "Okay, thank you, Uncle."

Gu Li didn't care and was about to follow when she heard Gu Feng say, "Son, stay back."

Gu Li paused, "Tsk, so much trouble." He stopped, "Go on, say it." He naturally knew that Gu Feng wanted Jiang Xu to go in first so he could talk to him about something.

Gu Feng left only the words, "Look at the way you're behaving," before stepping inside.

Gu Li watched the man's retreating figure and thought indifferently, "Yeah, he's jealous of me, definitely jealous to death, serves him right."

But he hoped that Gu Feng would live a long life and always remember those painful memories.

Gu Li placed his hand on his neck. Upon learning that Gu Feng was afraid of his death, he couldn't deny that he felt an impulse, a plan to keep Gu Feng constantly worried and uneasy.

Then he thought of Jiang Xu, and his plan shattered like a bubble. Just then, Jiang Xu's voice rang out, flowing through his heart like warm water, "Gu Li?"

Gu Li stepped in. "Here it is," he replied.

It doesn't matter whether the pain is in his heart or outwardly displayed. Anyway, he already knows it. He doesn't need to care too much about whether it's hidden or revealed. His existence can also remind him of her passing.

Jiang Xu and Gu Li stayed at the Gu family home that night. Gu Li's room had a cozy style, with a beige main tone and even the lights were all in warm colors.

The floor was covered with plush carpet, and the two walked in barefoot. Gu Li pulled the other person to lie down on the huge beanbag chair.

It was so soft, like sinking into a pile of cotton. Jiang Xu closed his eyes. "She really knows how to enjoy herself."

Gu Li smiled and said, "The ones we're lying on are my punching bags."

Jiang Xu imagined it for a moment, "Sandbag?"

Gu Li spoke softly, "Yes, my mother prepared it. She said that it hurts to hammer other things, but it won't hurt no matter what you do with this." Gu Li smiled as if thinking of something amusing. "She also decorated this room. She said that looking at it this way makes her feel more peaceful."

Jiang Xu, "It's quite different from the style you like."

Gu Li rubbed his temples. "She's a very gentle person, while I'm a terrible villain," he joked. "But being a villain is easy and comfortable, and you live longer too."

Jiang Xu moved Gu Li's hands away from his massage, which were rubbing without any restraint, and instead massaged the other person. "You didn't live a long life because you were a bad person, but because you were meant to live a long life. There's a saying that fits this perfectly."

Gu Li waited for Jiang Xu to continue, but then stopped talking. He opened his eyes, looked at Jiang Xu, and asked, "Which sentence?"

Good deeds will be rewarded.

Gu Li slept soundly that night. In her dream, a faint figure said to her, "Good people are rewarded." The faint figure looked exactly like Jiang Xu.

Those were the words Jiang Xu said tonight.

That's where Gu Li'an's peace of mind came from.

When they left the next day, Gu Feng was not there, but someone was still arranged to take them to their destination.

The two woke up early and didn't say a word the way home, sleeping side by side until they reached their doorstep.

When they slowly regained consciousness, the people Gu Feng had arranged followed them to their doorstep with large and small bags. Gu Li waved his hand, thanked them, and let them leave.

Since the two of them had come to Gu Li's house this time, the red wine naturally had to be stored properly. Everything was placed on the small bar, and they were taking things apart.

Gu Li fiddled with the packaging bag, "This guy really either doesn't send anything at all, or when he does, he sends a whole bunch of random stuff."

Jiang Xu: "It's pretty good, like opening a blind box."

He then took out a small tin box, which was engraved with intricate and retro patterns. It was a bit heavy in his hand. Jiang Xu examined it closely and commented, "He's quite generous."

Upon hearing this, Gu Li looked up at the box and said, "I have to open it and see. What if it's just a pack of tissues?"

Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li, "Are you serious?"

Gu Li: "Just kidding, open it and take a look."

The bitter aroma of tea wafted out the moment the lid was opened, a rather calming scent. Looking at the tea cakes displayed in the box, Gu Li paused. "I was just teasing him, and he actually brought them. Nobody drinks them anyway. Maybe we should sell them for some money?"

Jiang Xu joked with Gu Li, "Don't tease me, keep it, it'll be worth more if you save it up." He handed the tea leaves to Gu Li.

Gu Li took the box and looked at the tea cake with mixed feelings. He wasn't moved by it, but he couldn't figure out Gu Feng's intentions. He was always worried that Gu Feng was only kind on the surface, but there was something bigger waiting for him behind the scenes.

He knew Gu Feng wouldn't say anything ambiguous about the necklace, but the long-standing hostility and discord made him wary. He closed the lid and dismissed those thoughts. "Alright then, I'll keep it and wait for it to appreciate in value."

They hadn't even attended one class of the week yet, and most of it was already gone. They had an early class the next morning, so they went to bed early that night. But when Jiang Xu tried to wake Gu Li up the next morning, she just couldn't get up.

He opened his eyes for a moment and then closed them again, so Jiang Xu stopped bothering him, ruffled Gu Li's hair, and gently closed the door before leaving.

He happened to have someone take Gu Li's phone, which had fallen into the water, to be repaired a few days ago. He didn't know if it could be fixed, so he didn't tell Gu Li.

I'll go check it out today. If it's fixed, I'll back up the contents to my new phone and give it to Gu Li later. If it's not fixed, I'll buy a new one while I'm at it.

He arrived at the store early, and it was almost empty. He walked over to the counter and asked, "Hello, my surname is Jiang. Can you fix the phone I brought in before?"

The shop assistants immediately understood the situation. Jiang Xu was generous and told them to do their best to fix it. The person in charge, having received the money, was happy to do things and gave instructions to the shop assistants, waiting for Jiang Xu to come and collect the money.
