"Hehe," Xu Lang chuckled dryly, then slammed the door shut. "Sorry to bother you."
Gu Li and Jiang Xu exchanged a glance. Gu Li tied the knot and patted it gently, saying, "All done."
"Hmm, we need to hurry, those guys seem hungry." Jiang Xu turned off the tap and took out the rinsed items to process.
Gu Li: "Yeah, so they sent the most restless one to check on us. He's probably not hungry now, and he's talking about us outside."
Gu Li truly understands his good brothers exceptionally well. For instance, when Xu Lang saw the two of them hugging, he immediately ran to the sofa after closing the door, gulped down a large mouthful of water, and then said, "Gu Li, guess what I saw?"
Ji Hai was the first to chime in with a guess, "They kissed?"
Xu Lang shook his head. "No, come on, next one."
Xie Tao thought for a moment and then asked, "Sticked out your tongue?"
Xu Lang smiled mysteriously, "No, no, no, I didn't expect you to guess wrong too, Tao. Come on, come on, the last one."
Seeing Xu Lang's expression, Lü Chao quickly thought for a moment and said directly, "I did it." His tone was as certain as if he had seen it himself.
Xu Lang's smile froze on his face, and even the mouthful of water he had just swallowed felt stuck, halfway up and half down. "Cough cough," he coughed and choked, "No, what are you saying!"
Xie Tao patted the man's back to soothe him, saying, "Don't worry, Chaozi is just teasing you." After he finished speaking, he glanced at Lü Chao, who then handed him water with a mischievous grin.
Lü Chao laughed as he said, "Who told you to be so blunt, you playboy? If you get impatient, you'll just start making wild guesses. Tell me the truth, what did you see?"
Xu Lang, having recovered, took the water with one hand and pushed the other, saying, "Let them hear you promise they'll get a beating from the drill."
Lü Chao said, "I just thought the two of them had a good relationship, I didn't mean anything else, Gu Li will definitely understand."
Ji Hai rolled his eyes without hesitation. "You'd better be like that." He then turned to Xu Lang. "So what did you see?"
Xu Lang and the other man became smug again. "I saw it," he drawled, looking at each person one by one before speaking, "they were hugging each other."
After listening, Lü Chao lay back down on the sofa and said in a perfunctory tone, "Oh, okay, that's fine."
Ji Hai also looked down at his phone, "Yeah, that's pretty good."
Xu Lang looked at Xie Tao with such indifferent expressions on their faces and asked, "Is it this boring?"
Xie Tao calmly said, "Investigate further and report back."
Before long, Gu Li brought the plates to the table, nodded after looking at their placement, and then called out loudly when she saw Jiang Xu also coming out with his food, "Come and eat, my lads."
The four of them got up from the sofa in the living room and went to the dining room. Lü Chao walked in front and saw what was on the table. "Wow, so much prepared. My son is so thoughtful."
Jiang Xu sat down next to Gu Li. "Son, you don't need to be so polite. It's what I should do."
Looking at the table full of food, Xu Lang decided to play peacemaker. "Brothers, let's eat and drink well on this wonderful day. Come on, let's eat."
Ji Hai nodded. "Yes, Jiang Xu's cooking skills are really good."
Xie Tao nodded. "It does look quite good."
“That’s right,” Gu Li said, raising her head slightly when she heard Jiang Xu being praised. “Let’s eat.”
They got up early and were quite hungry by this time. They didn't talk much at the dinner table, but started chatting and teasing each other after they had eaten most of the food.
Jiang Xu spoke first, asking, "Is there anything you'd like to do this afternoon?"
Xu Lang answered quickly, "I saw a barbecue grill outside, and I want to eat some!"
Xie Tao smiled and said, "We just finished eating, why are you thinking about eating again?"
Gu Li propped his chin on his hand and gave a mischievous smile. "Was it because Jiang Xu's cooking wasn't good enough and you didn't eat enough?" He tilted his head and pretended to blame Jiang Xu. "There's still a lot of room for improvement."
Jiang Xu propped his head up and looked at Gu Li. "I gave you the chance to stir things up here," he said, then looked at Xu Lang and said with a hint of self-reproach, "It's not really bad, is it?"
Just as Xu Lang was about to comfort Jiang Xu, thinking he was truly blaming himself, Jiang Xu continued, "It must have been Gu Li who made those bad dishes. What I made should be fine, right, little brother?"
"Huh?" Xu Lang didn't expect this twist. He took a moment to react, then flashed a bright smile again. "I think they're all delicious, but Xu, why am I the younger brother?"
As soon as he said that, everyone's eyes turned to Jiang Xu. Lu Chao realized what he meant and said, "We've heard you call Gu Li 'brother,' aren't you showing favoritism?"
Jiang Xu didn't pause for a moment, still smiling gently, his eyes looking at Xu Lang with what could only be described as loving, "Isn't it because you look too young, Xu Lang? You always make people feel like you're a younger brother, don't you think, Gu Li?"
Gu Li was enjoying the play when she was mentioned, so she just waved her hand and said, "I'm always sleepy after eating. Why don't you repeat it again for me?"
Jiang Xu understood what Gu Li meant. He wanted Gu Li to act out more so he could watch more. He sighed softly and said, "How heartless! You don't care about people after you've eaten your fill. You'll just throw people away after you've used them, right?"
Gu Li's hand, which was supporting his face, suddenly slipped. After those words, he was no longer the one watching the show. He turned his head and looked at Jiang Xu in confusion. "Why do I seem like a scumbag? Didn't we agree that you would cook and I would wash the dishes?" His words completely shattered his romantic thoughts and pulled him back to his daily routine.
Jiang Xu sighed deeply, glanced at Gu Li, and then lowered his head again. "Sigh..." This sigh was tinged with sorrow.
Gu Li hooked his arm around Jiang Xu's neck and ruffled his hair roughly. "You just falsely accused me of making something that tasted bad in front of me, and now you're playing the victim, huh?" He messed up Jiang Xu's hair. "Tell me, do you dare to do it again?"
Jiang Xu smiled and looked up, his eyes glistening with a crystalline light, a tearful glint that made him look captivating. "I won't do it this time, but we'll see next time."
Just as Gu Li was about to press the head down and rub it properly, several people around her couldn't bear to watch anymore.
"Ahem," Lu Chao made his presence known, then said, "That's enough. We can't just keep bullying Li like that. We need to ensure sustainable development, right?"
Gu Li looked up and asked, "Huh?"
Ji Hai said, "He's just talking nonsense because he's had too much to eat. He means, Li, go easy on Jiang Xu, don't bully him."
Jiang Xu took Gu Li's hand and squeezed it. "Look, everyone knows you're bullying me."
Gu Li grabbed Jiang Xu's hand in return, "Chao Zi!" he called out in a raised voice.
"Huh?" Lu Chao looked over in confusion, only to see that Gu Li was looking at Jiang Xu and not at all at him.
Gu Li raised an eyebrow and smiled at Jiang Xu, saying, "I think what you said about sustainable development is absolutely right, it's extremely feasible."
Lü Chao: Okay, so I'm part of your game too, right?
