Chapter 22 Drama Queen

There were classes on Monday afternoon, and the lunch break was about two hours long, but Gu Li led the group toward the school's main gate.

Jiang Xu, "You skipped your afternoon class?"

Gu Li turned her head and glanced at it. "No need, there's still time. But if you want to skip it, then just pretend it's too late."

Jiang Xu nodded. "Then let's go. Even geniuses need to keep a low profile."

Gu Li, “Don’t misunderstand yourself, you’re anything but modest.”

Jiang Xu: "You might have corrupted me."

"Impossible. Each class I teach is better than the last." Gu Li's tone was completely different from those teachers who said each class was worse than the last.

After leaving the school gate, turning left and walking straight for a short while, there was a row of shops. Gu Li raised his hand and stretched it out, "Come on, pick whatever you like, don't be shy with your brother Li." After saying that, he pointed to several restaurants with great gusto, "I have connections with all of them."

Jiang Xu asked cooperatively, "What kind of relationship? It can't be... it can't be that I can eat and drink for free, can it?"

Gu Li shook his head solemnly, "No," he said with a look of surprise, "It's because of something that will ensure you can wash dishes peacefully."

Jiang Xu chuckled, “Looks like you’ve washed quite a bit.” “You’re playing the part of a drama queen today.”

Gu Li: "You flatter me. That company offers the best benefits. Let's go with that one."

Gu Li's fingertip pointed to a restaurant that stood out from its surroundings. The restaurant's facade was twice the size of the others, and its name was hung very high, consisting of only the character "Li".

The shop door was closed at the time, with only a warm orange light shining through.

The wooden doors and windows are decorated with elegant carvings, and a small window on the second floor offers a glimpse of some decorative items, making one want to take a closer look.

Jiang Xu said, "This must be self-praise." He could tell from the shop name that it probably belonged to Gu Li, and it gave off an air of advising people not to come.

Gu Li: "I'm just stating the facts, it's an exclusive service, don't you want to try it?"

Jiang Xu chimed in, "I miss it so much, I feel like I could fly there."

Gu Li smiled and raised her chin, "Then let's take off."

The two walked towards that area, and as they approached, the quaint door automatically opened to both sides, revealing the scene inside the shop.

The cashier was lazily yawning, casually fiddling with his abacus as if he hadn't expected anyone to come. When he heard the noise by the door and looked over, he swallowed the yawn immediately. He looked closely before calling out, "Coming, coming."

The speaker had a distinct Beijing accent, while the person replying spoke with a thick Northeastern accent, saying, "Don't try to fool me, I'm busy, don't mess around."

The baby-faced man hurriedly stepped out from behind the counter and ran down the stairs to the side, shouting, "Really, come down quickly!"

Footsteps came from upstairs. "If you lie to me again, I'll come down and teach you a lesson."

Gu Li and Jiang Xu had already entered the shop. The door closed automatically behind them. The air conditioning inside was strong. Gu Li looked at the person standing by the stairs with a blank expression.

With a fake smile, the baby-faced girl blinked at Gu Li, "Brother Li, why are you here today? Didn't you say you'd be here in two days?"

“I didn’t know you’d dare to make fun of me in a couple of days,” Gu Li tilted his head, his expression turning malicious. “Looks like I haven’t taught you a lesson lately, are you itching for a beating?”

"No way, I was just trying to scare Xie Tao. He doesn't listen to me at all, but as soon as I mentioned Brother Li, it worked immediately."

"You're really quite the flirt. If Xie Tao doesn't listen to you, then there aren't many people who will."

The baby-faced man smiled like a fox, his eyes shining brightly. Just then, he heard a sound coming from the stairs, and his bright eyes turned towards the stairs. "As expected, Brother Li is the most useful."

"Xu Lang, could you be any lazier? Here," Xie Tao handed a data cable to the baby-faced man, "Gu Li is here. Upstairs or downstairs?"

Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu, "Where would you like to sit?"

Jiang Xu: "Just sit wherever you usually sit."

Xu Lang maintained his smile, "Then let's go upstairs. Who is this new friend, Brother Li?"

“You’ll be a major client in the future.” Gu Li said as she walked towards the stairs, patting the baby-faced man on the shoulder. “Take good care of him from now on.”

The two then went up the stairs, and Gu Li left with the words, "Press A to serve the dishes."

Xu Lang blinked. "Did I hear that right? What did Brother Li say he pressed?"

Xie Tao said, "You're so lazy you're practically deaf. Go sit down and rest."

Xu Lang: "I've never seen that person before, and Brother Li even came today. Tao, what's going on?"

"I said your phone is about to turn off." Xie Tao held up Xu Lang's phone, which was on the counter, and the screen showed a 30-second shutdown message.

"Ahhhhh, hurry, hurry!" Xu Lang frantically connected the cable, and after a while calming down, he slowly began to plug the connector into the phone.

"Turn it off, but the action was elegant enough, not bad." Xie Tao made the last comment before heading to the kitchen.

"Hehe..." Xu Lang chuckled coldly twice, then followed into the kitchen.

Upstairs are individual private rooms, with small wooden plaques engraved with gold lettering hanging on the pillars. There are four rooms in total, but the gold lettering gives them a very modern feel.

Gu Li: "One, two, three, four, you can pick one."

Jiang Xu didn't stand on ceremony and went straight to the private room with the sign "One". "This one?" he asked and pushed open the door.

Gu Li said, "What a nice pretense of politeness." He walked behind and closed the door. "I've learned something."

Jiang Xu sat down on the edge of the bed, reached out and pulled aside the seat next to him, then waved to Gu Li, "Follow Brother Xu, and learn a little life skill every day."

Gu Li walked over and sat down, "I actually made a profit."
