Jiang Xu signed the contract with the landlord on Saturday morning. When he returned to the dormitory to pack his things, no one was there. Jiang Xu didn't have many things. From the original owner's memories, he knew that if any good things appeared, they would belong to the other three people in the dormitory.
Therefore, Jiang Xu packed very little. Compared to other things that could be thrown away, the heaviest items were his and Gu Li's textbooks.
He quickly tidied up his things and then called a home improvement company. A one-stop service was much easier than doing it himself.
He entrusted the moving and tidying of his room and the purchase of items to a reputable company. The company's fees were not low, even somewhat high, but Jiang Xu paid a deposit directly to them. Rich people are always a bit capricious.
Will Jiang Xu feel guilty about spending the money? No, he won't. The value he brings in the future will only increase, and that's Jiang Xu's confidence, and it's something he's certain he can accomplish.
He sat waiting for someone to come and pick up the things, scrolling through his phone looking at his company registration application. One of the great advantages of having a good father was that it saved him a lot of trouble in setting up his company. He passed all the hurdles and was only waiting for the application to be approved and for employees to be hired.
Just as I was looking at it, the class teacher's message popped up: Hello Jiang Xu, your application to commute to school has been approved by the college. I just saw your roommate, and he said he would bring it back for you. Did you receive it?
Jiang Xu replied to the message with "Okay, thank you, teacher," but he was secretly wondering which of his roommates it was. He really did like to wander around again and again.
Just then, the sound of a key turning came from the dormitory door. As soon as the door opened, Zhao Rangwen's pale, white face appeared.
As soon as he entered the door, he saw Jiang Xu. He was stunned for a moment, then quickly switched to a look of surprise and delight. "Ah Xu, you're...you're back! You didn't...you didn't come back yesterday. I...I was worried about you," he said, laughing as if he had really let go of his worries. "By the way, the teacher asked...asked me to give this to you. You must be eager to have it."
After saying that, he took out the item as if presenting a treasure, and handed it to Jiang Xu with bright eyes. Jiang Xu took it and smiled at him. What he said next made Zhao Rangwen's face turn bitter.
"You insisted on taking it back to me, didn't you? I'll only say this once: you're not allowed to touch my things anymore." Jiang Xu picked up the application form with two fingers and even visibly shook it in front of Zhao Rangwen.
"Ah Xu, how... how can you say such hurtful things?" Zhao Rangwen's eyes began to redden, and he looked like he was about to cry again.
"Oh, right, get rid of that title for me too. Don't call me that anymore, it's annoying." Jiang Xu put the paper on the table.
Zhao Rangwen said, "Ah... Jiang Xu, I know I was blinded by greed before. Can't you forgive me just this once? I've helped you many times before. You can't be so ungrateful!"
Jiang Xu looked at him and smirked, "What? Did your stuttering suddenly get cured?"
Zhao Rangwen was taken aback. "You... what are you saying?"
Jiang Xu: "Stop pretending. You spoke very fluently before, but now it seems you can actually speak properly. Is pretending to stutter fun?"
Zhao Rangwen frowned as he looked at Jiang Xu. "You suspected me so long ago, why are you only saying it now?"
Jiang Xu said calmly, "Because I wasn't sure before. But you've given yourself away again. You can only fool me from before."
Zhao Rangwen, "Why have you changed so much?"
With a profound and inscrutable expression, Jiang Xu uttered a truth that everyone had heard before: "People change."
Gu Li would definitely comment, "What a show-off!"
Zhao Rangwen, on the other hand, looked like he was seriously doubting his own existence.
Jiang Xu said, "I don't care why you're pretending to stutter. Everyone can be an egoist, but don't let your earthy smell stick to me, otherwise..." He didn't finish his sentence, but both of them knew what he meant.
Zhao Rangwen's expression changed, his previous timidity vanished, "Jiang Xu, we are actually the same kind of people, why don't you cooperate with me? We will definitely be better off that way."
Jiang Xu, "Cooperation?"
Zhao Rangwen nodded, "Yes, cooperation. My architectural talent can help you, while you barely made it in. But you have some money, so we can both live better lives together, right?"
Jiang Xu: "Yes, I have money."
Zhao Rangwen looked at Jiang Xu with a gleam in his eyes, thinking that he had persuaded him, and was just about to speak about his plan again.
Jiang Xu: "That's mine, why should I make it better for you? Besides, who said I'm bad at architecture?"
Zhao Rangwen said, "Your grades were clearly terrible before!" He suddenly realized that it wasn't a good thing to say that. "That's not what I meant. And I'm not just doing this for myself, I'm doing this for us. Jiang Xu, didn't you say you liked me a lot and were willing to do anything for me?"
Jiang Xu's expression remained unchanged, but in his heart he was thinking, "I didn't expect the original owner to have such poor taste, even liking to eat coarse food."
Jiang Xu: "I don't remember, I had amnesia during my vacation. Who are you?"
Zhao Rangwen looked pale. "Are you serious? You can't possibly dislike me!"
Just as he shouted this, the door opened again, and Zhao Rangwen's expression changed. He then suddenly fell towards Jiang Xu.
Jiang Xu's reaction speed was far superior to Zhao Rangwen's. He dodged the moment the other man turned around and gave him a smile as Zhao Rangwen watched him dodge with increasing fear.
A beautiful yet chilling death smile.
The door opened and the sound of flesh hitting the table rang out at the same time. When Liu Xian came in, he saw Zhao Rangwen sitting on the ground with scratches on his face that were bleeding, and he was rubbing his temple.
Jiang Xu stood to the side watching this scene, and even saw the door open and said, "Turn on the light, it's too dark for me to see the clown."
Liu Xian glanced around and turned on the light. He walked towards his bed with an indifferent expression. He was somewhat numb. He was the one of the three other people in the dormitory who least wanted to provoke Jiang Xu.
Zhao Rangwen looked up at Jiang Xu. He originally wanted to throw himself into Jiang Xu's arms and make Liu Xian misunderstand their relationship. It would be good if he could ruin Liu Xian's reputation, and even better if he could cling to Jiang Xu.
But now, he really does look like a clown, and Jiang Xu is like the troupe leader who is making fun of him.
Undeterred, Zhao Rangwen spoke up, "Jiang Xu, I won't agree to what you want to do to me." After saying that, he secretly glanced in Liu Xian's direction.
Jiang Xu scoffed at these petty tricks. "What are you doing? Killing you and selling you at the market? I don't even know what the price of pork is anymore, but you don't have much meat. I bet the people buying vegetables will be picking the leftovers."
Zhao Rangwen was speechless. He hadn't expected Jiang Xu to be so harsh. "You clearly tried to hold my hand just now, but I refused."
Jiang Xu said, "Just kidding. I could slap you a few times and you wouldn't even make a sound, and you even refused." He walked straight towards the dormitory door. "Don't think of yourself as so great."
