The variety show program is what I can think of; we're currently in the singing stage.
The male singer on stage sang "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion" in a deep voice, while the lights flickered on and off.
Gu Li yawned as she listened, and Jiang Xu happened to see it. He lowered his voice and asked, "Sleepy?"
Gu Li also lowered his voice, "I can't listen to this kind of thing. It's so slow that it makes me sleepy." He raised his hand to wipe the corner of his eye, "But he sang alright. If I sang, I would definitely be doomed."
Jiang Xu asked, "How do you mean it will end?" He felt that Gu Li's voice was good at singing anything.
Gu Li pondered how to describe it, "I personally feel there's nothing wrong with it, but according to the other people, they wish they could poison them to make them mute."
Jiang Xu smiled and said to Gu Li, "Maybe they're just jealous that you sing so well."
Gu Li said, "As expected, my brother's high regard for you was well-deserved; your words are so pleasant to hear."
Jiang Xu: "Then when will you sing it for us?"
Gu Li tilted his head and smiled, "You've been waiting for me here," he said, then lowered his head and looked away, "Oh dear, how could I possibly accept that?" His tone was particularly affected.
Jiang Xu was taken aback by Gu Li's new performance style, but he quickly recovered. "Don't be shy, I promise I won't laugh at you." After he finished speaking, he quickly reached out and lifted Gu Li's chin, and even stroked it like he was teasing a cat.
Gu Li leaned back to avoid him, saying, "You've portrayed this lecherous character perfectly."
Jiang Xu smiled and withdrew his hand. "You flatter me." His smile was gentle, like that of a refined gentleman, showing no trace of the teasing he had just been doing.
On the other side, Xu Lang and Xie Tao were shaking each other's arms violently. Xie Tao felt like his hands didn't belong to him anymore.
Xu Lang was howling silently. He tried to lower his voice and leaned close to Xie Tao's ear, "What are they talking about and playing? Why are they even touching each other? I'm so curious. Lu Chao was right. I feel so uncomfortable. Why wasn't I sitting there?"
Xie Tao struggled to save his arm. "Control yourself. I believe you can fill in the blanks in your mind. If you really can't, how about discussing it with Chaozi?"
Xu Lang let go of his hand and started searching for his phone. "As expected, Tao, you're the most reliable. You're right. I'll find someone to analyze this."
Xie Tao straightened his clothes and calmly handed the phone to Xu Lang, "Don't worry, they won't fly if they just stay there."
"I wait for the spring thunder to remind you who you love." The boy's singing voice gradually faded, and the stage lights went out.
When the lights came on again, it was time for the host's announcement. Hu Bingbing smiled and clapped, "The lingering sound is truly captivating, making one want to hear it again. But the next program is here; please enjoy 'Sleeping Beauty' presented by the drama club."
It's a well-known drama, but because of that final kiss, and fueled by the hormonal surge of adolescence, it remains a popular and enjoyable show.
The previously faint conversation became clear as soon as the play began, indicating that quite a few people were discussing it.
After listening to Hu Bingbing's words, Gu Li leaned close to Jiang Xu's ear and said, "Trendy." Her tone was casual, and it was unclear whether she was dissatisfied with the script or with the person.
Jiang Xu glanced at the stage set. The narration had already begun, and the previous noise quieted down again. He turned to Gu Li and whispered two words in her ear, "Yes."
After they finished speaking, the two leaned back in their chairs and watched the performance on stage. Hu Bingbing had changed into her costume, and she looked exactly like the actress playing Sleeping Beauty.
Hu Bingbing isn't exactly stunningly beautiful, but she's still pretty. Her features aren't particularly delicate, but she has a sweet and delicate charm, so it's not surprising that she played Sleeping Beauty.
Gu Li turned to look at Jiang Xu, "Is it good-looking?"
Jiang Xu thought Gu Li was asking about the set design, "It's acceptable."
Gu Li said, "Oh," he drawled, "It's qualified, it's all qualified, so it's qualified, I see."
Jiang Xu naturally noticed that Gu Li's tone was off. "I was talking about the set design, what are you talking about?"
Gu Li then glanced at the set, then looked back at Jiang Xu. "Oh," he responded, "I thought you were talking about someone." He spoke quickly, but not in a way that made it difficult to understand.
Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li.
Gu Li seemed to suddenly become busy. He looked at the other people in the same row, then at the stage, then at his own hands, and even tried to look back. Jiang Xu raised his hand and pressed down on Gu Li's shoulder to stop him from continuing.
Jiang Xu didn't use much force, but Gu Li didn't try to turn around and was simply held down.
Xu Lang looked at it and asked, "What's going on? Is this going to turn into a fight?" He then frantically tapped on his phone.
Xie Tao wanted to sigh, but sighing would make him age faster. "Are we here to watch the cultural performance, or are you here to observe Gu Li and Jiang Xu?"
Xu Lang typed at lightning speed, "What's the point of a talent show? I'm just checking it out, aren't I?"
Xie Tao: What exactly are you overseeing?
Seeing that Gu Li had stopped moving, Jiang Xu withdrew his hand. "So you've been looking at people all this time? How was it? Did they pass the test?" His tone was flat, but it carried a hint of something unreadable.
Gu Li turned around and looked at Jiang Xu in disbelief, then happened to catch the smile in Jiang Xu's eyes. He relaxed. "I don't have a 'qualified' standard. It's either good or bad." After he finished speaking, he touched Jiang Xu's arm with his elbow. "The goal isn't me, but," he looked straight at Jiang Xu, "you."
Jiang Xu smiled. "Her goals are none of my business?" He was gentle yet cruel. "I've always only ever seen my own goals."
Gu Li: "What a coincidence, me too."
It was a coincidence that no one continued the conversation at that moment.
The performance on stage was nearing its end, and this was the climax of the entire cultural performance, as could be seen from the discussion that followed the final act.
"Hey, do you think they'll actually kiss? Will they? Will they?"
"You're overthinking it. How could they possibly kiss? Even though they're both adults, it's just an act."
"But who knows, maybe sparks flew during the rehearsals."
Gu Li and Jiang Xu were seated near the front, and the rows further in front were occupied by teachers and school leaders, so their discussion was very quiet.
Gu Li leaned back in her chair. "It's finally going to end."
Jiang Xu remained seated, his hands folded, and said, "We've been acting for quite a while now."
Gu Li, "Want to have dinner together tonight?"
Jiang Xu: "Of course, please treat those who came to support us to a good meal."
Gu Li said, "Then let's go find Lü Chao and Ji Hai; it'll be a perfect opportunity for them to meet."
The two chatted casually, their conversation remarkably familiar among the group discussing the topic.
"Wow! They really kissed! They really kissed!" This was the first exclamation from the crowd, followed by even louder discussions.
Guo Hao never expected that the previously agreed-upon misalignment would end up like this. Hu Bingbing then weakly stood up, and the two quickly pressed their lips together.
He was stunned. This was the first time the two of them had been so close since he had fallen for Hu Bingbing!
Hu Bingbing had already invested money, but when she thought about the plans she would be making later, she felt that such a small loss was nothing.
She thought she would definitely win him over, just like she had told others.
