Chapter 63 Fouls

Jiang Xu laughed, "Don't talk like you're invincible, it's a bit out of character."

Gu Li glanced out the window; the sunlight was just right. "How wonderful it would be to be invincible in the world."

The four of them sat on the school bus, two to a row, and headed to the venue for the arts performance.

The venue for the cultural performance is very large, and it is still in the setup stage. Crowds are gathering, and it will be some time before it starts.

The four stood at the door. Jiang Xu waved to the person who was waving from afar, then looked at the other three and said, "Just find a place to sit. I have something to take care of."

Gu Li said, "Go quickly, don't worry about us."

Xu Lang: "Yes, go ahead and get busy."

Jiang Xu nodded and walked towards the place where he had greeted them earlier. Gu Li watched Jiang Xu's retreating figure and then looked at the seating arrangement.

Gu Li said, "You two can find any seats you like. I need to move to the front."

Xu Lang looked around the room. "Wait, aren't you going to sit with us?"

Gu Li said, "I originally asked you two to come with me to save me a spot, but I thought about it and realized I can manage by myself. Wouldn't it seem like I'm bullying you if the three of us came together?"

Xu Lang said, "How is this bullying? With the two of us around, it seems a bit more friendly. It's you who's bullying people. You're sitting there without giving a smile to anyone who wants to sit next to you."

Gu Li waved his hand, "My mind is made up, my dear minister, there is no need to say more."

Xu Lang's lips twitched. "Okay." He turned to Xie Tao. "Let's go play. Tao, let Gu Li be lonely and cold."

Xie Tao said, "Lang, I suspect you've been staying up too late and your reactions are slow. Think about why Gu Li isn't with us."

Xu Lang looked at Gu Li, who had already walked forward, and said, "Yeah, he invited both of us, so why is he still alone..." He paused, then a thought flashed through his mind, "He's waiting for Jiang Xu to come with him later."

Xie Tao patted Xu Lang on the shoulder, "Finally awake, huh?"

Xu Lang watched Gu Li's red hair recede into the distance. "It's really rare to see Gu Li care about anyone. Do you think he even knows it himself?"

Xie Tao said, "Who knows? But it's clearly the result of his choice based on his heart, and it's his freedom to choose."

Xu Lang smiled and said, "That's good too. At least he has other things to do, instead of being completely preoccupied with that matter."

Xie Tao's gaze fell on Jiang Xu, "It's not just about the matter, it's about the person." His words were full of meaning.

Xu Lang and Xie Tao chose a spot in a back corner, and the two chatted quietly, "How many times have we caught up? Brother Li is still as good as ever."

Xie Tao also watched, "Two guys have come, and she's still popular with both men and women."

Xu Lang: "It's a pity we can't see Li's expression, otherwise it would be even more interesting."

Xie Tao: "This is great, the angle is good, it's convenient to see anywhere."

Xu Lang nodded, "That's right, that's right," he said excitedly, "Hey, they went again, they went again. The threat of rumors can't compare to the attraction of the person themselves."

While Jiang Xu was busy, he glanced around and saw the person sitting on the left side of the front row, whose red hair was dazzling under the lights.

The dazzling light drew people to sit next to Gu Li, even though there were quite a few empty seats in that row.

However, none of them ended up sitting next to Gu Li.

Jiang Xu would glance in that direction a few times during his free time, thinking that he should go there sooner rather than later.

"Minister? Minister Jiang?"

Jiang Xu looked back at him. "Go on, I'm listening."

"Okay, you need to assess the situation on-site. The general situation and arrangements have been handled as you suggested, and we're just waiting for the performance to begin." After speaking, the member pointed in a direction. "Most of the club members are sitting in that direction. Shall we go and sit together?"

Jiang Xu smiled and shook his head. "Thank you for your hard work. Go sit down and rest. I won't go."

The member nodded, "Then I'll head over first."

Jiang Xu nodded, turned around, and strode towards Gu Li.

Gu Li was looking down at his phone, seemingly not wanting to talk to anyone, so Jiang Xu sat down next to him.

Gu Li put down his phone, frowned, and turned his head. There were so many empty seats, why was it so difficult for him to find one? "This seat..." He stopped speaking when he saw the person next to him.

Jiang Xu asked with a smile, "What's wrong with this location?"

Gu Li raised an eyebrow. "This position is yours." He put away his phone. "It's over so quickly?"

Jiang Xu said, "Yes, I'm afraid some people will get impatient if they wait too long." After he finished speaking, he picked up a pen and wrote on a piece of paper.

Gu Li noticed Jiang Xu's movements and leaned closer to watch. "I've never seen you write before. These characters," he paused, but Jiang Xu continued writing, "are not affected at all."

Jiang Xu kept writing, "I know you haven't figured out how to compliment my handwriting yet, it's okay, take your time, I'm not in a hurry at all."

Gu Li said, "Your handwriting certainly matches your confidence. It's impressive." His tone was light, but he was definitely praising him.

Jiang Xu wrote down the basic information, closed the pen cap, and said, "Not at all thoughtful, praise me again."

Gu Li thought about it seriously, "The brushstrokes are fluid and graceful, like dragons soaring and phoenixes dancing, powerful and agile, truly powerful and elegant." After he finished speaking, he raised his head slightly to Jiang Xu, "Is that heartfelt enough? Would you like to say a few more?"

Jiang Xu nodded, "That's enough, that's enough, you'll get carried away if you keep talking."

Gu Li said, "However," he pointed to the name 'Jiang Xu', "this name hasn't been changed yet."

Jiang Xu glanced at Gu Li's fingertips. "This is a secret."

Gu Li withdrew her hand and twirled her fingertips. "Is it the secret you mentioned before?"

Jiang Xu's gaze was dark and deep, like an unfathomable pool. "This is also a secret. You can't just ask me this without telling me anything. That's against the rules, Gu Li."

Gu Li paused for a moment, then said slowly, "Okay, we'll talk about it together later."

At this moment, all the lights in the venue suddenly went out, and the venue fell completely silent due to the sudden darkness. The next moment, the curtain was drawn back, and all the lights fell on the shadows of the people on the stage.

Hu Bingbing and a male student were fully illuminated by the lights. Hu Bingbing, wearing a pure white dress, smiled and said, "Respected leaders."

The boy next to him received the message, "To all the distinguished guests."

The two took turns saying a sentence, with Hu Bingbing saying, "Welcome to the freshman arts performance."

Finally, the two of them said together, "Let's officially begin!"

Gu Li glanced at the person speaking on stage. "He's someone you know."

Jiang Xu: "Not familiar with them. Someone I know is sitting next to me right now."

Upon hearing this, Gu Li changed her mind immediately, saying, "How well-done? Someone I know."

Jiang Xu, "How mature do you like it?"

Gu Li: "I always eat it fully cooked."

Jiang Xu nodded, "Okay, then next time we go to a restaurant, I'll order you well-done."

The topic had completely veered off course. Jiang Xu glanced at the stage occasionally, and when he looked back again, his eyes met those of Hu Bingbing.

Hu Bingbing smiled and added a line that wasn't in the script to Jiang Xu, "Stay tuned."

She was speaking only to Jiang Xu.
