Jiang Xu, "By the time you get here, they'll have already collapsed."
Gu Li: "How could that be? I'll definitely bring people to cheer you on if you want to watch a good show."
Jiang Xu said, "No, please. They can't handle even one more person, and if we bring in more people, they might not wake up."
Gu Li: "Ruthless, just as you thought."
Jiang Xu: "You're being modest. I can't compare to you."
"Study hard, and you'll be just as successful as me." Gu Li put some more food on their plates. "Believe me, you're really, really good." His voice was light and casual, as if he were just saying it offhand.
"You're misleading students, Gu Li," Jiang Xu said, taking a bite and his eyes lighting up. "Your friend's cooking is excellent, and the price is quite reasonable, isn't it? I might really have to come and wash the dishes."
"Keep your card safe, and you'll become a winner in life with every meal for free." Gu Li ate happily. "And don't call me classmate, it sounds weird."
"Don't even think about it, I really won't call you brother." Jiang Xu blocked the way.
"You're shrewd," Gu Li put down her chopsticks and looked at Jiang Xu. "What kind of relationship do you think we have?"
If someone else had heard Gu Li's words, they might have thought of something else entirely, but Jiang Xu's thought process was perfectly aligned with Gu Li's. He understood what Gu Li meant. "We," he paused, "are friends."
Gu Li nodded. "Hello, this is my friend whom I've known for three days."
Jiang Xu shook Gu Li's outstretched hand. "Hello."
Jiang Xu thought he had never become familiar with someone so quickly before. Coincidentally, Gu Li on the other end of the handshake was thinking the same thing. What a coincidence! This is really great.
