Chapter 21 It's already destined

An Meng had no idea what Xie Yun was thinking, and she just looked at the scenery leisurely.

"You're going to regret this..." she whispered.

My tasks will also be fragmented.

Hearing this, Xie Yun suddenly turned around and looked at An Meng with clear eyes: "No."

Why? Although she didn't say it out loud, the expression on An Meng's face was clear.

She looked at Xie Yun in disbelief. Where did this confidence come from?

Xie Yun seemed to be amused by her expression and laughed happily: "Aren't you here?"

In an instant, a chill ran down her spine, along her skin, and up to her scalp like lightning. An Meng even suspected that Xie Yun knew everything.

Her lips moved, and she was about to say something.

The smile on Xie Yun's face disappeared instantly: "I was just kidding."

"Are you full?" He began to send An Meng away. "Go home if you're full. I'll reimburse you for the taxi fare."

"Oh." An Meng was worried and turned away.

I just opened the door and went out, and haven't taken two steps yet.

"Wait." Xie Yun stopped her again, "The company is fine now, let's go together."

The two walked side by side through the corridor and headed towards the elevator.

An Meng walked and thought, still a little unwilling: "Xie Yun."

She swallowed hard, her voice hoarse, "What if my suggestion is that this thing can't be done?"

Xie Yun stopped and looked at An Meng intently, and was about to speak.

A figure flashed around the corner of the corridor, and Lin Yiyi said with full energy: "An Meng! You told Xie Yun..."

"Ah~" Lin Yiyi slammed on the brakes. "Boss Xie, why are you here too?"

Damn it, she clearly only saw An Meng leave the door just now, how come Xie Yun is here too?

Lin Yiyi quickly put on a smile, tucked her hair, and said softly, "Hello, Mr. Xie."

Xie Yun smiled faintly and nodded, but a hint of sarcasm flashed in his eyes.

Lin Yiyi didn't notice anything unusual at all. She was overjoyed to see Xie Yun like this.

Although she didn't know the reason, Xie Yun's attitude towards her changed completely compared to how he treated her in the buffet restaurant. This was a good sign.

She couldn't help but feel complacent: Men are just like this.

"Mr. Xie, may I ask you something?" Lin Yiyi said confidently, "How did my interview go?"

An Meng's eyelids drooped.

Xie Yun is truly a fool, determined as hell. Sigh!

Xie Yun glanced at An Meng calmly, with a tiny arc at the corner of his lips.

Then, he said in a deep voice, "Come to work next Monday."

As expected, An Meng was dejected.

Even though she had a premonition, Lin Yiyi couldn't help but show her joy when Xie Yun really said it.

She didn't expect it to be so easy!

Lin Yiyi smiled sweetly and said, "Thank you so much for your appreciation, President. I knew you would evaluate the candidates fairly and not take anyone's personal feelings into consideration."

An Meng secretly curled her lips, feeling a little choked up.

[Excuse me, big sister, who are you? ]

[In terms of closeness, he's still my cheap husband. Did I say anything?]

[Although this cheap husband is useless, he's an unfilial son, useless, oh, useless!]

"Ahem," Xie Yun seemed to be choking, and covered his mouth with his hands. "If you're okay, go back first."

"Okay, Mr. Xie, see you next week." Lin Yiyi secretly gave An Meng a look and left in her high heels.

The numbers on the elevator display screen decreased rapidly. An Meng ignored Xie Yun and muttered to herself.

[Divorce, I want a divorce! ]

[I quit! What else can I do?]

[I really want to just leave this mess behind and walk away! ]

"Ding——" the elevator door opened.

An Meng walked past Xie Yun angrily and walked forward at a very fast pace.

The unexpressible bitterness and helpless helplessness filled An Meng's chest, turning her into a round, exploding balloon.

Suddenly, she felt her arm being restrained. It was Xie Yun. An Meng shook her arm hard, trying to break free.

Xie Yun was extremely strong, but she didn't succeed. She could only growl in frustration, "I won't take your car anymore! I'll go back by myself!"

The girl at the front desk looked at the president and a young girl in the lobby in surprise, her mouth forming an O shape.

I heard that Mr. Xie got married a few days ago. Could this be Mr. Xie’s wife?

Amidst the pushing and shoving, Xie Yun pulled An Meng to the corner and held her down.

An Meng was of course not convinced and struggled to hit him: "Go away, you are so annoying!"

"Stop, listen to me."

During the movement, Xie Yun's breathing became a little rapid. An Meng was very strong, and it was not easy to avoid being hit by her.

"What did you say?" An Meng stopped what she was doing, raised her head and glared at him hatefully.

[Unless you say you are Qin Shi Huang! ]

The young woman's dark eyes were burning with rage, her lips were bright red with anger, a few strands of hair were stuck to her cheeks due to a thin layer of sweat, and her collar was a little crooked.

Xie Yun was silent for a few seconds and let go of An Meng.

"Go ahead and tell me, why don't you tell me?"

"You just said," Xie Yun spoke slowly, "if this thing can't be done."

An Meng calmed her breathing and waited for him to continue.

"Do you know," Xie Yun changed the subject, "why the Xie family wanted to marry you?"

An Meng almost nodded subconsciously, but suddenly remembered that "An Meng" should not know about this, and quickly shook her head.

Xie Yun gave her an ambiguous look but didn't expose her.

He said in a calm tone, "When I was nine years old, a Taoist priest told me that I was destined to be a 'lonely star of misfortune', and that everyone around me would die a miserable death. I ended up dying a miserable death, my body lying on the street."

An Meng's heart began to beat wildly as Xie Yun recounted the facts she had already known. This forced her to take a deep breath, letting the cool air flow into her chest and calm her violent heartbeat.

The sound of footsteps could be faintly heard in the lobby, but Xie Yun's voice, as calm as flowing water, did not disappear.

"Later, the Taoist priest said that I needed to find a suitable person to marry in order to change my fate."

An Meng's throat spasmed and she murmured softly, "It's me..."

"I must marry An Meng, the eldest daughter of the An family, when she turns 25, on June 15th. Not a day earlier or later." Xie Yun imitated the Taoist's tone.

The coldness made An Meng shiver. On June 15th, three days ago, she had just come into this world.

[So, Xie Yun is not going to marry "An Meng", but to marry me?]

[In other words, my coming to this world was inevitable?]

"All of this," her pupils suddenly dilated, forgetting that she was still angry with Xie Yun. Her fingers tightly grasped his arm and she said hurriedly, "It was all predestined!"
