"What?" Father Zhou repeated it stiffly before his brain could react.
He just regained consciousness today, so he has no time to read the hot search headlines.
Zhou Shi made a strange noise, and took out his cell phone to show his father the trending news.
The first few trending searches were about "Zhou Media's second son was arrested for soliciting prostitutes."
"Zhou Yucheng is suspected of rape."
"Shocked! The two Zhou brothers are forcing underage girls!"
“…” Zhou Huarong’s breathing quickened, he hastily looked away, and coughed uncontrollably.
"Oh, Dad," Zhou Shi quickly put away his phone, "I forgot, you're too weak to read this."
Zhou Huarong's chest heaved violently, and he finally stopped coughing after a while. His voice was weak but tinged with anger: "This evil son!"
Xie Yun glanced at Zhou Shi, who was showing a hint of satisfaction, with a cold look in his eyes, and said softly, "Uncle, don't be angry. Your health is more important."
"This... evil son of a bitch," Zhou Huarong said, his face darkening as he managed to utter a few words out of anger, "he's trying to piss me off to death."
Xie Yun said: "Yucheng, he might have been framed."
"Framed?" Zhou Shi's eyes changed, and he laughed sarcastically, "Xie Yun, I know you and my eldest brother have always had a good relationship, but you can't speak to him in this way."
"Then let's wait for the truth to come out." Xie Yun replied calmly without getting angry.
His nonchalant attitude obviously irritated Zhou Shi. The latter snorted and was about to fire a few more words when a gap appeared in the ward door.
Zhou Yucheng pried open the door with his hand, revealing half of his head, and smiled nonchalantly at the people in the room: "Are you all here?"
"How dare you come here?" Zhou Shi stretched his neck and shouted, "Are you trying to piss off Dad to death?"
"Oh, what are you talking about?" Zhou Yucheng didn't care at all and walked in leisurely. "Dad, I really didn't do anything!"
Zhou Huarong closed his eyes and didn't want to say a word.
"How could I possibly rape a minor?" Zhou Yucheng frowned and sighed, "My aesthetic isn't about fair, young, and skinny! I like queens! Queens!"
"Even if I really want to find a prostitute, I can't find one of this style!"
"...You guys go ahead," Zhou Huarong turned his face away in annoyance, "I'm tired and want to sleep for a while."
But the reality was not as he wished. As soon as he finished speaking, the door of the ward was pushed open.
The person who came in was Ye Ya.
She was dressed simply, but looked radiant and seemed to be in a good mood.
"Hua Rong," Ye Ya said with a worried look the moment she entered the room. "I came to see you. How are you?"
Zhou Huarong's face trembled, and he closed his eyes and said, "You are not welcome here."
"After all, we have been married for so many years," Ye Ya stroked the corner of her eyes, "I just wanted to come and see you."
"Dad," Zhou Shi also advised, "Mom is also very kind-hearted. She was very worried during your hospitalization and lost several pounds."
Zhou Yucheng moved his lips but no sound came out, but it looked like he was cursing in a very unpleasant way.
Ye Ya was worried? Ever since his father was hospitalized, Ye Ya seemed to have rarely been to the hospital!
Zhou Huarong seemed to want to move and wanted to open his eyes to look at Ye Ya.
"Are you so kind?" A clear female voice sounded at the door of the ward, and An Meng pushed the door open and walked in.
She closed the door gently and locked it.
"What are you doing here again?" Zhou Shi saw that it was An Meng and said with disgust, "This is our family matter."
For some reason, as soon as he saw An Meng, he had a bad premonition, a terrible feeling as if everything would become a dream.
An Meng ignored Zhou Shi's cold eyes and walked straight to Xie Yun.
She didn't waste any words and went straight to the point: "Uncle Zhou, I told you before that you were poisoned, right?"
Zhou Huarong raised his old eyelids and looked at An Meng blankly.
"Then Uncle Zhou, do you know who poisoned the person?" An Meng continued.
Hearing her say this, Zhou Huarong's eyes showed no curiosity, but instead an expression with some indescribable complexity.
His eyes glanced at Ye Ya briefly, then turned to the window and began to stare blankly.
Ye Ya's fingertips began to tremble uncontrollably. She quickly put her hands behind her back and pinched her fingers tightly.
How could it be, she clearly...!
Zhou Shi didn't understand why and just looked at An Meng with disgust.
An Meng was a little surprised by Father Zhou's reaction. She asked, "It seems Uncle Zhou already has a guess in his mind?"
[It seems that Zhou Huarong has already suspected Ye Ya? ]
Zhou Huarong stared at the leaves swaying in the wind outside the window without saying a word.
"An Meng," Zhou Shi watched them keep him in suspense, completely impatient, "Just say what you want to say. Why are you pretending like that?"
An Meng couldn't help laughing and smiled slightly.
[Hey, you silly son, you've just accelerated your mother's fall into the fire pit!]
Ye Ya suppressed the panic in her eyes and opened and closed her lips to try to stop Zhou Shi.
"Then I'll be frank," An Meng raised the corner of her lips, facing Ye Ya, and said clearly, "Aunt Ye, it was you who poisoned me!"
Ye Ya was shocked and almost jumped up, shouting, "Don't slander me! Why do you say I was the one who poisoned you?"
She panicked and turned to pull the door handle, but the door didn't open, so she turned the door lock with trembling hands. Her hands were wet and slippery with cold sweat, and she fumbled for a long time but couldn't open it.
Zhou Yucheng stood aside with his arms folded. Seeing Ye Ya panic, he couldn't help but smile evilly.
Zhou Huarong lay back on the hospital bed dejectedly, his cloudy eyes staring at the ceiling, without saying a word.
