Chapter 114 He was naturally in a hurry to see the person he wanted to see.

After the two finished getting ready, they went to the office and followed Ma Cungen to the restaurant.

The door slowly opened, and Wen Jiaojiao slightly raised her eyes. She saw Wen Zhaoye sitting in the main seat, a cigarette dangling from his lips. Through the wisps of smoke, he lifted his eyelids to meet her gaze.

She stopped in her tracks, her face suddenly stiffening: a fate that could kill!

Ma Cungen greeted him with a smile:

"Mr. Wen, you've arrived very early."

Wen Zhaoye's gaze remained fixed on Wen Jiaojiao's face, and he suddenly felt a sense of reunion after a short separation. He smiled slightly and said:

"When you want to see someone, you're naturally more anxious."

Ma Cungen thought he was being talked about, so he chuckled. Then, noticing Wen Jiaojiao at the door, he spoke:

"Hey Hey, come in! What are you standing there for?"

A playful smile appeared on Wen Zhaoye's lips as he gazed at Wen Jiaojiao, and he spoke as if asking her a question:

"He Chou Chou?"

Ma Cungen explained:

"Yes, she hit her head and lost her memory. Someone from the same village said that's her name."

"Amnesia?" Wen Zhaoye stood up, his eyes sparkling as he approached her step by step, answering the two people behind him:

"Then I won't pretend anymore, she's my wife."

The two men froze, suddenly remembering Wen Jiaojiao's plan to elope. They exchanged an awkward glance, their expressions saying, "The one who shouldn't be eloping is him."

Three black lines slid down Wen Jiaojiao's forehead: "..."

That's utterly shameless.

Ma Cungen lit a cigarette and held it to his lips, chuckling softly:

"Don't joke around, I haven't heard anything about you getting married."

Wen Zhaoye reached out and grabbed Wen Jiaojiao's hand. As she stiffened and refused to move, he pulled her to her seat.

"We just didn't say it, but we'll get engaged when we go home this time, and we'll get married on the second day of the Lunar New Year. There will be a lot of people there, so it'll be a lively occasion."

Wen Jiaojiao: "..." I don't know whether to pretend to have amnesia or not.

However, judging from the familiar and harmonious atmosphere between the two, they don't seem to be the male lead and the villain at all.

Ma Cungen's gaze swept across Wen Jiaojiao and Wen Zhaoye's faces. He felt that Wen Zhaoye wouldn't make such a joke, and after thinking for a moment, he suddenly realized:

"No wonder you asked me to bring the fitting room attendant when you heard her voice. You two actually know each other."

Wen Jiaojiao raised her hand and wiped the sweat from her face: "..."

Wen Zhaoye ignored him, suddenly leaned in, and whispered in her ear:

"Didn't I already say I wouldn't investigate your relationship with Xu Dajun? Why did you still come out to find a job on your own? Didn't you tell me? Don't you know I'd be worried about you?"

His breath hit her ear in the cramped space, making Wen Jiaojiao feel a tickle. She turned away, weakly saying:

"I just wanted to prove my abilities."

Wen Zhaoye frowned and withdrew. He flicked the ash from his cigarette with one hand, pondered for a moment, and said:

“My little sister sometimes does strange and uncontrollable things, so I’m sorry to have troubled you these past few days.”

Wen Jiaojiao: "..." This silly boy has come up with all sorts of excuses for me, but has he ever considered that I don't like him and don't want to be with him?

Ma Cungen waved the hand holding the cigarette and said:

"No, she's actually quite good at taking photos, and she's been doing a great job these past few days."

Wen Zhaoye had been searching anxiously for days, but now his heart was filled with the joy of seeing Wen Jiaojiao safe and sound.

He looked at the girl beside him with doting eyes and said, "When we get back to the factory, if you want to continue working, you can do so and prove your abilities just the same."

"I'm tired, I don't want to do this." Wen Jiaojiao said irritably, picked up her chopsticks, took a bite of the restaurant's specialty dish, and smacked her lips angrily.

Looks like I can't stay here anymore. What a pity, I've worked for nothing for several days.

Wen Zhaoye's smile remained unchanged as he picked up a piece of Dongpo pork and placed it in her bowl, saying:

"Either is fine. If you don't want to work, you can stay at home."

Liu Qin laughed out loud upon hearing this:

"I didn't realize you were a boss lady."

Wen Jiaojiao was incredibly embarrassed. She kept putting food in her mouth while waving her hand and saying:

"I don't deserve it, I don't deserve it."

Wen Zhaoye took it as modesty; his eyes were full of Wen Jiaojiao, and he praised her without reservation:

"It's the boss's wife. When my sister isn't confused, she's very smart. She excels at everything related to money, like accounting and paying wages."

Wen Jiaojiao's toes kept scratching the sole of her shoe. She took the juice Wen Zhaoye handed her, took a sip, and didn't say anything.

Liu Qin glanced at Wen Zhaoye's face, stirring up the gossip and envy in her younger daughter's heart, and said:

"Tell me, how come you're so lucky and still not satisfied? I really didn't see that coming from the factory these past few days."

Wen Jiaojiao interrupted, "Let's eat, or it'll get cold." She figured she might as well not have this "blessing" of having her leg broken.

Wen Zhaoye was in a great mood and said, "I only had them serve some of their signature dishes. You can order whatever you want to eat."

Looking at the table full of dishes, Ma Cungen smiled and said, "We've known each other for years, no need to be so polite. Enough is enough. Let's have a drink."

Wen Zhaoye remembered that he had just had his tubal ligation done a few days ago. He picked up the tea and refused, saying, "I haven't been feeling well these past few days, so I'll have tea instead of alcohol."

Ma Cungen glanced at Wen Jiaojiao and said:

"Tsk, look at how exhausted Mr. Wen is, trying to find you, he's even fallen ill."

Wen Jiaojiao smiled awkwardly: "..."

The meal was quite enjoyable for the three of them, except for Wen Jiaojiao, who felt extremely uncomfortable.

After finishing his meal, Wen Zhaoye, holding Wen Jiaojiao's hand, followed behind the two of them. His smile hadn't faded since he saw Wen Jiaojiao. He said:

"I'm going home tomorrow. Is there anything you want to take back with you?"

Wen Jiaojiao sighed and blurted out:

"Go back by yourself."

Wen Zhaoye didn't take her words to heart at all, and said in a doting tone, "You've made a mistake again, haven't you?"

Wen Jiaojiao: "..."
