Between the two were scattered figures. Wen Jiaojiao looked at the script in her hands, her heart feeling as if a stone was pressing on it.
I've never even been in contact with them before. If I actually acted in it, I'd probably get criticized, right?
"Who can play the piano? We need a two-second shot here, and the profile must resemble the female lead."
Suddenly, the director of another filming crew in the crowd spoke up.
Many of the extras around her stopped talking, and then Wen Jiaojiao raised her hand and said, "I can play the piano."
Wen Zhaoye's dark eyes flashed with surprise: "..."
All eyes turned to Wen Jiaojiao at the same time. Many of them knew that Wen Jiaojiao came from the countryside, and immediately voiced their doubts:
"These are things that rich people learn. Wasn't she found in the countryside?"
"We'll be able to tell whether it's an act or not in a moment."
"Don't just throw your fingers around and start playing randomly."
Wang Ling crossed her arms and scoffed lightly:
"Even Jiang Ci doesn't want to learn the piano, how can you, a wild girl, do it?"
Amidst the murmurs of those around her, director Li Mu glanced at her and said:
"The appearance is quite suitable. If you know how, why don't you come and give it a try?"
Wen Jiaojiao obediently walked to the piano and sat down, her slender fingertips dancing nimbly across the black and white keys.
Beautiful and melodious music flowed out, and everyone immediately fell silent upon hearing it.
Her parents wanted her to be a princess since she was little, and they enrolled her in all sorts of extracurricular classes.
It's just that Wen Jiaojiao was too lazy and gave up one after another, but the knowledge she learned wouldn't be forgotten.
Although none of them were of high quality, they were enough to fool people in this small situation.
Two seconds later, seeing that Li Mu showed no sign of stopping, Wen Jiaojiao had no choice but to grit her teeth and keep going.
Wang Ling turned and left with a grim expression.
"This girl actually has some skills."
Li Mu looked at the face shown on the director's monitor with satisfaction, and chuckled softly:
"Card"
The beautiful melody abruptly ended, and Wen Zhaoye's gaze, shining brightly as he looked at Wen Jiaojiao through the crowd, was now fixed on her.
My little sister is amazing!
How do you even know something like this?
Will she think I'm unfashionable?
Li Mu stepped forward and said with a smile:
"You're the daughter Jiang Peitian recently adopted?"
Wen Jiaojiao nodded:
Was this okay?
Li Mu, with his roguish yet handsome appearance, leaned against the piano and chuckled as he said:
"Okay, but could you change your clothes so I can take a special photo of you? I'm planning to dedicate some time to you this time."
I think the image of you sitting there playing the piano is ethereal, and your face is very photogenic; it would be a shame not to capture it.
Wen Jiaojiao's eyes turned up at the corners, and she said happily:
"Really? Then if you need a grand guitar or violin in the future, you can come to me. I know a little about these instruments."
Her voice drifted into everyone's ears, and the surroundings fell silent.
Li Zhu stared blankly, then immediately took out her phone and went to a secluded spot to call Liang Peitian:
"Boss, that girl can play the piano, big guitar, and violin, and she sounds quite skilled. Are you sure you don't want to check her background?"
There was a two-second delay in the voice on the other end of the phone, then Jiang Peitian said:
"Then let's go check it out."
Li Zhu said, "Also, boss, she's getting quite close to Li Mu now, and it seems like Li Mu really admires her."
Li Mu, a genius director, won the Best Director award last year for "A Single Spark Can Start a Fire".
Jiang Peitian recognized him. His gaze was thoughtful as he curled his slender fingers and tapped them lightly twice on the mahogany desk.
"Have someone warn them, and bring my son to see me as soon as possible."
He is autocratic and possessive, and he dislikes it most when the women he cares about have excessive contact with other men, as it always makes him feel like he's being cuckolded.
So even though Wen Jiaojiao wasn't his woman, he wouldn't allow his son to flirt with other men, even if they were people he was interested in.
Li Zhu hung up the phone and returned to Wen Zhaoye's side:
"Young master, shall we go over and say hello?"
Watching her and Li Mu chatting so happily, Wen Zhaoye felt a pang of inferiority well up inside him.
He shook his head: "Forget it, she probably doesn't want to see me right now."
Li Zhu: "Shall we go? The boss is still waiting for you."
Wen Zhaoye held a cigarette to his lips, the wisps of white smoke blurring his handsome eyes, and he spoke with an ambiguous expression:
"Let's wait a little longer."
Just as he finished speaking, Wen Jiaojiao came out of the room after changing into her off-shoulder dress.
Her face was beautiful and delicate, her curves were stunning and alluring, and the dress exposed to the air shimmered with a lustrous sheen, making her look like a pure and ethereal fairy who had fallen to earth.
Wen Zhaoye's eyes trembled slightly, his heart pounded uncontrollably again, and a slight smile appeared on his lips:
Sure enough, no matter how many times I see her, I always feel a flutter in my heart.
The crowd was ushered out, but the melodious tune lingered in their ears, prompting them to whisper amongst themselves once more:
"No wonder President Jiang insisted on recognizing her among all his illegitimate daughters."
"Exactly, she's so beautiful and outstanding, I wouldn't want her to be left out in the world either."
"And to give birth to such a beautiful person, her mother must be incredibly beautiful."
"Maybe President Jiang just likes her mother, which is why he insisted on bringing her back."
Wen Jiaojiao played the piano with complete focus, only stopping when Li Mu called for her to stop. She stood up and said:
"By the way, you're a director, I'd like to ask if you could introduce me to someone with good acting skills? I'd like to learn acting."
Li Mu said, "Aren't you General Jiang's daughter? In this regard, he has far more connections than I do."
"There are some special reasons," Wen Jiaojiao said awkwardly, then saw Li Mu take out his phone from his pocket.
