One of them stepped forward and whispered:
"Boss, we've been trying to stop them all morning, but we can't stop them at all."
Wen Jiaojiao is currently pregnant and experiencing some pregnancy symptoms. They had previously agreed to decorate their wedding room together, but Wen Zhaoye refused.
I originally thought marriage was just a formality, but right now I feel an indescribable sense of emotion.
She reassured him, "It's okay, I know you meant well."
Wen Zhaoye couldn't even imagine what would happen inside the room. He carried Wen Jiaojiao into the bridal chamber, and sure enough, he couldn't find more than two balloons that he had painstakingly blew up. Fortunately, the group of people hadn't touched the things on the bed.
Wen Jiaojiao sat on the bed, looking at the adults and children in the living room holding bouquets and balloons, and said to Wen Zhaoye:
"Brother, don't you think this looks more vibrant than putting it on the ground or hanging it on the wall? Weddings are all about having fun, so this is fine too. It's not a good day to get angry on our wedding day."
Wen Zhaoye exhaled a breath of stale air, calming his displeasure. He turned on the air conditioner and said with a slight smile:
"Hmm, that's good. I should have just let the balloons scatter on the ground instead of blowing them up. I blew them up yesterday, and my cheeks are still a little sore."
Wen Jiaojiao chuckled: "I told you a long time ago that we would do it together, but you insisted on doing it by yourself. Whose fault is that?"
Wen Zhaoye tilted his head and whispered into her ear:
"Then shouldn't I think about our children?"
Just then, a little boy with snot hanging from his nose approached the two of them, stretched out his dark hand, and said:
"Uncle, give me candy."
Wen Jiaojiao looked at the little boy's dark complexion and chuckled softly:
"Where's your candy? Did it get shared too?"
"Luckily I put it on the bedside table last night, otherwise I really wouldn't have been able to get it out."
Wen Zhaoye opened the bedside table and pulled out a large pile of candy. These were all goodies that Song Qi had specially bought for him in Yuncheng when he first returned. He generously grabbed a handful and said:
"The child reaches out his hand."
The child silently lifted his clothes to receive it.
Wen Jiaojiao found it amusing and generously grabbed another large handful.
Seeing this, the other children followed suit and reached up to catch it.
Looking at the litter of children, Wen Zhaoye smiled slightly and said:
"Want some candy? Then each of you say a blessing, but you can't repeat the same thing."
The whole family of children spoke up, vying to be the first to speak.
May you have a son soon.
May you have a long and happy marriage.
These children have just started school, and apart from a few commonly used blessings, they haven't yet figured out how to offer any more blessings.
Wen Jiaojiao chuckled:
"Forget it, you're putting the child in a difficult position. Anyone who doesn't know better will think you don't want to give it to them."
Wen Zhaoye also gave up on his thoughts. He was about to give it to the child in front of him when the child said:
"Twins in one pregnancy".
The two children paused for a moment, and then the other children, as if inspired, answered in unison.
"Triple birth".
"Four babies in one pregnancy".
"Five babies in one pregnancy".
"Six babies in one pregnancy".
The people standing outside the door burst into laughter.
And the number of children kept increasing. When Wen Zhaoye heard about fifteen babies in one pregnancy, he decisively raised his hand and said:
"Alright, alright, we have everything, even if we don't report it, we still have it."
The babies finally stopped laughing happily, and Wen Zhaoye subconsciously glanced at Wen Jiaojiao's belly:
If you get pregnant with so many babies at once, all the families should stop arguing and just stay home to take care of them.
Wen Jiaojiao handed out candy with a speechless expression. Luckily, she had plenty of candy and her family was rich; otherwise, she would have gone bankrupt from giving out candy to these dozens of children.
Then, a group of adults stepped forward, grabbed the baby from the bed, and, with their own children in tow, walked contentedly toward Babaozhai.
The old villa was left in a mess.
Wen Zhaoye lay on the bed with one arm under his head, looking at Wen Jiaojiao in her wedding dress and said:
"Honey, are you hungry? I'll take you to eat."
Wen Jiaojiao had been busy since early morning, and she yawned, saying:
"It's okay, just a little tired."
Wen Zhaoye stood up and said:
"Then you take a nap first. I'll go get you some food. After you've eaten, we'll go toast together."
Wen Jiaojiao frowned slightly:
"I still have to offer toasts, so I'll have to perform two somersaults as the grand finale."
Wen Zhaoye chuckled softly:
"Don't worry, you can just drink tea then. You're pregnant, how could I let you drink that stuff?"
Wen Jiaojiao was finally relieved.
Inside the Babaozhai restaurant, Xu Cuifen sat at the dining table, surrounded by people who showered her with compliments. Xu Cuifen smiled broadly, her eyes practically disappearing from her smile.
Wen Zhaoye, holding Wen Jiaojiao's hand, came over with a wine glass and said:
"Jiaojiao can't drink alcohol, as you all know. Today, she'll drink tea instead."
One of them joked:
"How can I not drink? It's my sister-in-law's wedding today, and getting drunk will make it even more lively."
Wen Zhaoye chuckled and said:
"No, no, but if you have any performances to do, you can perform them."
The crowd started to jeer, leaving Wen Jiaojiao speechless. Fortunately, the incident back then was shocking enough that even without drinking, no one would think about her being pregnant out of wedlock.
At night, after another group of children asking for candy left, the little villa returned to its tranquility.
Then, fireworks lit up the sky, creating a beautiful scene.
The couple stood in the courtyard, looking up at their wedding fireworks, until the last one bloomed and faded in the sky, before they went inside.
Wen Jiaojiao murmured:
"Getting married twice at once, I don't know which anniversary to celebrate next."
Wen Zhaoye readily agreed:
"Then let's do it twice."
Wen Jiaojiao said with amusement:
"Then every day will be a holiday, won't it? Daddy of thirty babies in one pregnancy?"
Wen Zhaoye chuckled lightly, finding the constant crying and fussing of children rather unpleasant. He didn't respond, instead walking to the bathroom and filling the bathtub with water.
