Chapter 241 Jiang Peitian Discharged from Hospital

Two days later, Jiang Peitian was discharged from the hospital. Wen Zhaoye picked him up and took him home, even though he was physically unable to walk.

However, it is undeniable that this was extremely kind to him, so he should appreciate it and let him enjoy his old age in peace.

Jiang Peitian sat on the sofa, looking at the three little ones reading together in front of him. The depression and annoyance in his heart caused by Qi Meijing's impending divorce finally subsided a lot.

Wen Jiaojiao sat on the sofa to the side and said:

"I heard from Jiang Ci that Mom wants to divorce you after Jiang Ci gets married, right?"

Jiang Peitian frowned impatiently and said:

"At such an advanced age, getting a divorce would make you a laughing stock. You should stand behind and try to persuade him to stop making a fuss."

Wen Jiaojiao said:

"Is it really because you're afraid of being laughed at, or are you genuinely reluctant to part with your spouse, or are you feeling lonely because you're getting old and don't have a partner?"

Jiang Peitian had always valued his reputation, so he naturally couldn't back down in front of the younger generation.

"I can find someone else in a minute if I leave her. If you want a divorce, come back here and get one now."

Wen Zhaoye immediately retorted:

"If you bring another child, don't come to our door again, lest you corrupt the child and end up like you when you're old."

Jiang Peitian was immediately gripped by him, and muttered:

"Just kidding. I'm already this old, why would I waste that money?"

Wen Zhaoye warned:

"You'd better be... Anyway, we have a curfew. No matter what you're doing outside, if you're not back by 10 o'clock..."

Then you don't need to come back anymore, lest you go out and catch something unclean, which would harm the children.

Jiang Peitian was concerned about his reputation, but Wen Zhaoye never gave him any face. Whether in public or private, he would reprimand Jiang Peitian without hesitation, and Jiang Peitian couldn't do anything about it.

He said impatiently, "Alright, alright, I know, it's only ten o'clock."

Wen Jiaojiao watched as Wen Zhaoye disciplined Jiang Peitian like a grandson and couldn't help but laugh:

"Dad, it seems that only your son can keep you in check."

Jiang Peitian stubbornly insisted:

“I was just letting him have his way. Otherwise, if I were younger, I would have slapped him across the face.”

Wen Zhaoye said irritably:

"Slap yourself in the face?"

Jiang Peitian knew his pride was worthless in this family, so after glaring at him, he confessed:

"Alright, to be honest, I don't want to divorce Meijing either. She's getting on in years. She needs someone to support her."

It's bad for everyone if we separate, and outsiders will just laugh at us. It's better to stay together and then bury each other separately when we die.

Wen Jiaojiao analyzed:

"I believe she did consider what you're saying, but she still brought it up, which means she's determined to divorce you."

Jiang Peitian made up an excuse:

"To be honest, I don't really care. I have children and grandchildren now. Even if I'm divorced, I can still have a lively family life with my grandchildren."

But she was all alone. Jiang Ci had married into another family, so she couldn't very well move in with them, could she?

So, in comparison, she's the one who's suffering. Isn't this all for her sake? So please help persuade her.

Wen Jiaojiao refused:

"What you said makes some sense, but we won't interfere in your affairs. To be honest, if I were your mother, I'd probably divorce you the day after the wedding."

She's endured so much for Jiang Ci; she's suffered enough. She chose her own path, and she's borne both the bitterness and the sweetness. We have no right to judge what lies ahead for her.

Wen Zhaoye: "Jiaojiao is right, I won't get involved."

Just then, Jiang Ci walked over and said:

"Dad, Mom has already made it clear to me that she won't change her mind no matter what. She also said... she also said..."

Jiang Peitian said anxiously:

"What else is there to say?"

Jiang Ci finished speaking in one go:

“If you keep dragging your feet on getting a divorce, my mom will sue you in court.”

Jiang Peitian's face darkened, and he said irritably:

"Get a divorce, get a divorce now that she's back."

Wen Zhaoye couldn't stand his arrogant attitude and retorted:

"Don't be so stubborn. She's a few years younger than you, and women live longer than men. The key is that she's in great health right now. She might even enjoy a long and happy retirement after the divorce."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Peitian's sharp eyebrows furrowed, a glint of something sharp flashed in his eyes, and he said in a cold, deep voice:

“She dares to do that. Even if we get divorced, she has to stay here obediently. I can do whatever she wants with everything else, but not this one thing.”

Wen Zhaoye said fearlessly:

"Since we're divorced, you two have nothing to do with each other anymore. Why are you bothering with her?"

Jiang Peitian lowered his legs, knees apart, and clenched his fists on his thighs, his imposing aura surging as he spoke:

"Anyway, I, Jiang Peitian, only have one wife. She has enjoyed this life for so many years. Whether we are divorced or not, any man she dates is cheating on me."

"Did you put too few on her? You two can put them on each other, it's fair."

It was only Wen Zhaoye who said that it was alright; otherwise, given Jiang Peitian's petty and narrow-minded nature...

At this age, and with the shares not in your own hands, even if you can't beat the other party, you'll remember the difference and then wait for an opportunity to retaliate.

Jiang Peitian was so subdued by Wen Zhaoye that he dared not speak out against him. He gave him a disapproving look and said:

"I'm a man, so it's only right for me to spend a little. Women, on the other hand, must be obedient and behave themselves."

Wen Zhaoye frowned slightly:

"Shut up. If you hear such things that corrupt children again, you can go back to the Jiang residence."

Jiang Peitian immediately became obedient. The Jiang residence was now completely deserted except for a few maids, and it was eerily quiet at night.

He had woken up more than once in the night, fearing that he might die and no one would find him, and thus he never wanted to go back in this lifetime.
