Chapter 78 Just behave yourself next time.

When Wen Zhaoye arrived with the train attendant, they saw the old woman carrying the boy, cursing and swearing as she walked towards other carriages.

He beckoned the train conductor to leave, sat down in his seat, and asked in surprise, "You hit that child?"

Wen Jiaojiao revealed a charmingly wicked smile unique to domineering CEOs:

"It's not that bad. I just tried to kill his spirit, but I didn't expect him to be so easily hurt."

Wen Zhaoye was somewhat puzzled, but he didn't say anything.

Wen Jiaojiao's gaze shifted downwards, looking at his bulging pockets, and a thought began to form in her mind:

I was just getting my ID card and letter of introduction back, so... it shouldn't count as stealing, right?

Wen Zhaoye sat for a while, then leaned back, closed his eyes to rest, when suddenly he felt a barely perceptible groping sensation on his thigh.

His ears were burning hot, and a barely perceptible smile appeared on his lips:

She actually touched me in front of so many people! How can this silly woman be so addicted to me? She's hopeless.

Wen Jiaojiao's long eyelashes trembled slightly, her heart leaped into her throat, and she dared not make any large movements, carefully moving slowly down the edge of the pocket:

At this time, we must be careful that nothing unexpected happens.

The moment his fingertips touched the folded letter of introduction, Wen Zhaoye couldn't resist the tingling, itchy sensation in his legs; a jolt of electricity shot through his body from his tailbone.

His face flushed red, and he stood up in a flustered manner, saying helplessly, "I need to go to the restroom first."

Wen Jiaojiao's slender hands suddenly clenched, and she stood up unwillingly, walking alongside him:

"Together, I also happen to need to use the restroom."

Wen Zhaoye paused, his handsome face flushing red to his collarbone. He raised his hand to touch the stray hairs at the back of his head, and hesitated before saying:

"This isn't...isn't this a bit inappropriate? What kind of image does this project?"

"What's wrong with that? I'm not going to fight you for it; I'll just let you go first."

Wen Jiaojiao frowned slightly and spoke frankly.

After understanding, Wen Zhaoye realized he had overthought things and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, it's not beyond redemption yet.

As people walked down the aisle, the two squeezed together to make their way to the restroom.

Wen Jiaojiao thought it was a good opportunity, since it was easy to miss physical contact when there were many people around.

Her heart pounded with anxiety, and her slender hand trembled as she reached into his pocket:

Life is tough, Xiao Wen sighed!

Suddenly, she felt a strange force gripping her delicate nape.

The man had a rugged appearance, and his large, thick hands lifted her as if she were a chick. His voice was deep and gruff as he shouted:

"She's so pretty, why did she have to become a thief?"

Wen Jiaojiao felt a chill run down her spine. She flailed her dangling feet, on the verge of tears, and said:

"He is my brother."

The man tightened his grip on the back of her neck, ignoring the cold sweat pouring down her face from the pain, and let out a cold sneer:

"Who would believe that? Your brother wouldn't need to sneakily pick his pockets, would he? I'll take you to the train conductor right now."

Just then, Wen Zhaoye turned around upon hearing the sound, his brows furrowed as he stared coldly at the man, and sneered:

"Put her down."

With tears welling in her beautiful eyes, Wen Jiaojiao, clutching the back of her neck and enduring the intense pain, ran to him the moment the man released her grip and said:

"Brother, help! Someone is attacking me!"

The man waved his hand awkwardly and said:

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were in cahoots. I just saw her touching your pocket and thought she was a pickpocket."

Wen Jiaojiao's long eyelashes trembled slightly. Fearing that Wen Zhaoye might misunderstand, she hurriedly explained:

"Brother, I didn't steal anything from your pocket. I just saw something was about to fall out, so I helped you stuff it in."

Wen Zhaoye was convinced she just wanted to touch him. He glanced at her, raised his large hand, and brushed aside her long hair. He saw the bright red five-finger mark on the back of her neck, and his gaze softened. He said in an ambiguous tone:

"Does it still hurt?"

Wen Jiaojiao felt obvious pain in the back of her neck, and her voice was tinged with tears as she said, "I feel like I can barely hold my neck up anymore, it hurts so much."

Wen Zhaoye pursed his lips slightly, his gaze gentle as he said:

"Go lie down in your seat."

Wen Jiaojiao supported her chin with both hands, afraid to make any large movements, and walked forward stiffly, saying with a wronged expression:

Why am I so unlucky?

Wen Zhaoye followed behind, somewhat speechless:

"Just behave yourself next time, and it'll be fine."

Wen Jiaojiao: "..."

If we keep following these rules, we'll have no way to survive.

The seats were a three-seater configuration. Wen Zhaoye walked up to the man on the far right and said:

"Can you sell me your seat? We'll sit down at Yuncheng. My daughter Jiaojiao has a neck injury and needs to lie down."

The man was easy to talk to and thought that Yuncheng wasn't far away, so he gave her his seat, but Wen Zhaoye insisted on paying.

Wen Jiaojiao lay flat on the chair, her heart pounding with anxiety.

Now that his neck is injured, even if he manages to steal the documents, he'll run like a zombie and be pinned to the ground in just a few seconds.

The train conductor's calls for food vendors echoed from the aisle. Wen Zhaoye stood to the side, his gaze gentle as he watched her.

Would you like something to eat?

Wen Jiaojiao puffed out her cheeks:

"How am I supposed to eat this? My neck hurts every time I raise my arm."

Wen Zhaoye chuckled softly. He rummaged through his lunchbox, turned around, filled two bowls with rice, sat down in the empty seat next to her lap, scooped up a spoonful of rice mixed with scrambled eggs and tomatoes, and held it to her lips.

"Eat."

Wen Jiaojiao opened her mouth and swallowed, chewing with difficulty:

"Brother, you're so kind."

People from other carriages were constantly coming and going in the train car. An old woman passed by, glanced at it, covered her mouth, and whispered to the woman next to her:

"Look at this young man, he's so kind. He even takes his sister, who is paralyzed from the waist down, with him when he goes out."
