The couple decided on the spur of the moment to have a C-section, which would save them a lot of suffering. Even though Xu Cuifen felt that a C-section was not as good as a natural birth, she still agreed for the sake of her daughter's safety.
Only Jiang Peitian, upon hearing that a C-section was necessary, repeatedly tried to dissuade her, mostly arguing that natural childbirth allows for faster recovery and is less harmful to the body.
The words sounded humane, but Wen Zhaoye knew him well.
The reason for insisting is simply that she can give birth vaginally indefinitely; with a C-section, she could only give birth three times at most. They'd rather Wen Jiaojiao just keep giving birth even if it meant she died.
So he politely and courteously sent him away...
Jiang Peitian had no choice but to say:
"Okay, go ahead and have a C-section if you want. But I've already consulted a master. If you were born at noon, your destiny is strong, and your career will be booming in the future."
Wen Zhaoye stood at the hospital entrance and said irritably:
"When did you become so superstitious?"
Jiang Peitian didn't feel anything was wrong at all and said:
"People in the port city value this. I've been here for a long time, and I've been influenced by it to some extent."
"Alright, you can just wait here. Otherwise, going inside and chattering will spoil my little sister's mood. I'll have someone come and let you know when she gives birth."
After Wen Zhao finished speaking, he turned and left. Although he also thought that being born at 12 o'clock was feudal superstition, who wouldn't hope that their child would have a bright future?
He came to the private room and said, "Jiaojiao, how about we do the C-section at exactly 12 o'clock?"
Wen Jiaojiao nodded in agreement:
"Either is fine, since I don't feel any pain or discomfort right now."
A short while later, Wen Jiaojiao was wheeled into the operating room. A steel needle, about the length of a finger, was inserted into the bone acupuncture point. The pain wasn't intense, but the tingling and numb sensation made her entire lower back feel as if it didn't belong to her.
Women are inherently weak, but become strong when they become mothers. Even though this was the greatest suffering Wen Jiaojiao had ever endured since childhood, she didn't utter a single complaint.
Then I just waited for the anesthesia to take effect. Then, at exactly 12 o'clock, I felt a chill in my stomach.
Immediately following was a tremendous pulling sensation, followed by the first cry of a baby in the room.
