Chapter 215 Good news doesn't travel far, but bad news travels fast.

The story begins with a visit from Li Fang's relatives.

That day, Li Fang's uncle heard that Luo Jun was working as a bricklayer in a construction team, so he came over to inquire about the house construction.

My uncle's youngest son is getting up and it's time for him to get married, so they need to build a house for him.

He heard from Luo Jun that Yu Guanghui's family had built three large red brick houses with a kitchen and a toilet, and that it only cost 1,000 yuan, which made him very tempted.

He has been saving money for more than ten years to build a house for his son, which is about seven or eight hundred yuan. He only needs to borrow a little more from relatives and friends to build a big red brick house.

When Li Fang heard his idea, she thought he wanted to borrow money, so she quickly advised, "Uncle, seven or eight hundred can build a decent house, why build such a big one!"

The uncle was also in a dilemma because his son had finally found a girlfriend in a county town, but said that without a house, he definitely wouldn't get married. The father and son had argued about this several times.

The key point is that the Victory Brigade construction team's asking price is barely acceptable, so why not build a larger one?

Luo Jun was quite happy and even said he could introduce him to someone so they could talk things over. If they reached an agreement, the construction team would have another project, and he could work as a laborer and earn a little more money.

Li Fang, however, turned her back to her uncle and kicked Luo Jun twice hard. "Didn't you realize? He doesn't have enough money. He'll have to borrow money from us, won't he? Stupid!"

The couple had a fight last time and were in a cold war for about ten days. They had just made up when this happened again.

She later reflected on it and realized that Luo Jun was already quite good. He certainly couldn't compare to Lin Ye and Luo Hao, but compared to other men, he was still better.

So she still planned to continue living with him. She wasn't the kind of person who would betray her family and do whatever she wanted. Even if her family borrowed money, she would think it over carefully.

This uncle of hers also made a living by farming. Their brigade is now far behind the Shengli brigade, and she doesn't want to be taken advantage of!

To avoid her uncle speaking, she deliberately said:

"Uncle, I'm only telling you this because you're not an outsider. The construction team from the Victory Brigade had an accident on their last project. A wall collapsed and someone was injured. You'd better not use them!"

Upon hearing her words, Luo Jun's face immediately fell, and he glared at her, "Xiao Fang, what are you saying! How can that be the construction team's fault!"

The more nervous he became, the more he wanted to explain, but because he was not good with words, his explanations turned into excuses, and his uncle believed Li Fang's words even more.

After returning home, he began to intentionally or unintentionally slander the Victory Brigade construction team.

Good news doesn't travel far, but bad news travels fast. The Shengli Brigade's side business was thriving, which aroused the jealousy of many other brigades.

Especially the construction teams from other brigades, who seized this opportunity to kick someone when they were down, hoping to ruin the reputation of the Shengli Brigade's construction team so they could get more work for themselves.

When Luo Hao first heard the rumor, he didn't take it to heart.

Everyone in the brigade knew that the accident was orchestrated by He Shujuan, and no one took it seriously.

Unexpectedly, when he was about to go out to find work, he was robbed of it by the people from Wangjia Village.

The construction team of Wangjia Village Brigade was established by the team leader's son and had been operating for several years. Everyone recognized their capabilities. Luo Hao offered a contract price that was 100 yuan less than theirs, which gave them a chance to compete for the contract.

Unexpectedly, the Wangjia Village brigade told the story of the collapsed house that injured people, embellishing it and making it sound particularly bizarre, even with a touch of superstition.

Building a house is a big deal. Everyone says to believe in science and oppose superstition, but in everyone's heart, it's better to believe it than not to believe it. So they all refused to cooperate with Luo Hao, even if it was cheap.

Having no other choice, Luo Hao went with Wang Guangming to the commune to demand an explanation.

If the commune could issue a statement proving that nothing had happened to the Victory Brigade construction team, but that someone had deliberately framed them, then people might not have any prejudice against the Victory Brigade.

After learning about the situation, the commune leaders were also somewhat perplexed.

"I didn't believe it at first either, but when I heard it was spread by people from your brigade, everyone had no choice but to believe it?"

Luo Hao frowned and asked in a gruff voice, "Who is it? Is it He Shujuan, or Xu Erlai?"

"Didn't you ask around? It's someone named Li Fang." The commune leader gave him a sidelong glance.

Luo Hao never dreamed that it was his sister-in-law who had put the construction team in such a predicament!

Finally, after Wang Guangming's repeated coordination, the commune issued a statement, which was conveyed to all the brigades, but it had little effect. People were still only willing to believe those more bizarre and sensational stories.

Luo Hao was momentarily lost. When Luo Jun tried to comfort him, Luo Hao yelled, "Brother, I was originally planning to talk to you about joining the business and making money together. What am I supposed to do now? Your wife has gone too far!"

When Aunt Luo found out that Li Fang had told the story, she didn't give her a friendly look and almost got into a fight with her several times.

Luo Jun didn't know how to get along with her, so he could only remain silent.

Li Fang felt aggrieved; she hadn't actually thought that much about it at first!

She just didn't want to lend the money out!

But seeing that Luo Hao had no money to earn, she was secretly pleased. "Look at you guys still gloating, now none of us have to make money!"

That day, Lin Ye and Lu Wanqing were reviewing their studies, surrounded by Lin Xiaocui, Wang Xu, and Luo Chunlei.

They have formed a study group, reviewing systematically every day and researching possible question types together.

Although Lu Wanqing did not take the college entrance examination in her previous life, she learned about the exam questions from newspapers and had some impression of them, even remembering the essay topic.

During her review process, she cleverly incorporated all of these into her practice.

There are only a handful of universities in Beijing, and getting into one is quite difficult, but with a "golden touch," it becomes much easier.

Besides, Luo Chunlei and Lin Xiaocui are both top students; if there's anything they don't understand, asking them will solve it easily.

Luo Hao, however, came running over with a bottle of baijiu (Chinese liquor) and a bitter face, insisting on drinking with Lin Ye.

"Brother Ye, are you really going to abandon everything here and go to the capital with your wife? This is where you belong! Without you, I can't do anything right! I'm in so much pain!"

As he spoke, a slight smell of alcohol emanated from his breath, which Lu Wanqing noticed and frowned.

Lin Ye noticed this and immediately pulled Luo Hao aside, saying sternly, "How come you're not even as good as your wife! She's still working hard to learn how to sew every day, while you, all you do is drink! So what if you can't get any work? Then go out and try to find some!"

Luo Hao felt wronged and wanted to cry. "I went! I get rolled my eyes and cursed at every day! I really can't take it anymore! Since you're not in charge now, the construction team might as well just disband!"

After listening to his complaints, Lu Wanqing slammed her hands heavily on the table and shouted, "Who said he doesn't care! He's still the team leader!"
