Lin Ye was heading in that direction when he walked towards the crowd.
Without much effort, the tall man looked down and saw a woman sitting on the ground, her face pale, holding a bamboo basket covered with a black cloth, refusing help from others.
Lu Wanqing stood on tiptoe but couldn't see anything, so she had to ask Lin Ye what he saw.
"An older woman seemed to have heatstroke, but she didn't want anyone to help her."
Heatstroke?
With so many people gathered around, wouldn't the air circulation be even worse?
"There must be some reason why he doesn't want help. Ah Ye, let the crowd disperse; maybe that will ease the situation." Since she had seen it, she naturally wanted to lend a hand, and she could tell that Lin Ye really wanted to help.
Lin Ye thought his wife was right, so he quickly stepped forward and pushed through the crowd to make them disperse.
"Alright, alright, everyone stop staring. This is my older sister. I'll take her to the clinic right away."
The crowd had gathered around out of kindness, but upon hearing that the young man had arrived, they gradually dispersed and went about their own business.
The eldest sister suddenly felt much easier to breathe and forced a smile at Lin Ye.
"Big sister, you still don't look well. Let me help you to the side to rest for a bit. Don't worry, I'm not a bad person," Lu Wanqing said, squatting down.
When the eldest sister saw Lu Wanqing, she had a smile on her face and a soft, gentle voice. She felt a sense of trust inexplicably and nodded to her.
She then helped her older sister find a shady spot to sit down and even brought out a water bottle for her to drink.
"This is sugar water; it can relieve discomfort."
Afraid that she wouldn't dare to drink it, I took a sip myself first.
The older sister took the kettle, and without touching her lips to the inside of her mouth, she gulped down a large mouthful.
Not long after drinking it, she felt light and her head was no longer dizzy; she was completely cured.
"Thank you so much, sister, and little brother too. You two are both beautiful and kind-hearted." The older sister's voice immediately became strong and energetic.
Just as the group was exchanging pleasantries, Tiger stared intently at the eldest sister and walked towards them.
"Wife, I told you to wait for me, but you insisted on showing off. Now sit down and rest!" Tiger said, his voice filled with reproach and heartache.
"Look at what you're saying. Am I that precious? I can't even lift a few pounds of eggs." The older sister no longer tried to hide her true feelings.
If others knew she was carrying a basket of eggs, they would definitely suspect she was a speculator, which is why she refused the help from the kind person earlier, afraid of getting herself into trouble.
Tiger breathed a sigh of relief, then noticed the tall man standing next to him and exclaimed in surprise:
"If you're not Brother Lin Ye, how do you know my wife?"
The older woman slapped his hand and said reproachfully, "I just had heatstroke, and this young man and his wife saved me. Be a little more polite...do you two know each other?"
"Fellow traveler, do you understand?" Tiger winked at her and then took her hand into his large hand.
Lu Wanqing chuckled upon seeing this; the couple was quite amusing.
Tiger then noticed that there was another person next to him.
Lin Ye hurriedly introduced, "This is my wife, Lu Wanqing." As he spoke, he put his arm around her shoulder, as if to assert his ownership.
The group felt an instant connection and began to chat.
Lu Wanqing then realized that Tiger was a well-known middleman in the area, and must have connections behind him. His business was very large, but he had never gotten into trouble.
She thought about the various jewelry, antiques, and paintings that Lin Ye had bought in her villa, and wondered if she could sell them through him to get the capital to start her business now.
The older woman was Tiger's wife, named Li Ping. She was from out of town. Although she wasn't as gentle and petite as the local women, she still looked delicate and charming in front of the rugged Tiger.
Her clothes were more fashionable than those of the average woman. She had her hair permed herself, giving it big waves, and clipped it back, which looked very nice.
She had a little powder on her face, and although she said she was forty years old, she looked to be in her early thirties at most.
After chatting for more than half an hour, Lin Ye noticed that it was getting late and remembered that he had originally come to see Tiger, so he asked, "Do you have everything?"
"I was just about to tell you, the cement and sand are all bagged, the red bricks are stacked up, and the larger items are ready. I can deliver them to you tomorrow," Tiger said readily.
"Thank you, Tiger." Lin Ye handed him the agreed-upon money.
"Don't mention it. You're my wife's saviors. If you ever need anything, just come to me," Tiger said.
The last time Luo Hao brought Lin Ye to see him was at the transaction site, and he also told him his home address.
If you need to find him urgently, you can go directly to his home.
When they broke up, Lu Wanqing couldn't help but ask Li Ping if she would sell her eggs.
Aping handed her the whole bamboo basket, saying, "Don't mention it, you're being too polite. Take it and eat!"
The wild deer that Lin Ye brought over last time was sold by Tiger for over 200 yuan. A basket of eggs is only worth a few yuan, so there's no need to haggle over every penny.
Lu Wanqing did not refuse. The spiritual spring water had improved her weak body considerably, so she didn't really gain anything.
Lu Wanqing really liked the couple's genuine personalities and felt that this trip to the county town had been very rewarding.
The two carried large and small bags home, and Lin Chunhua came out to greet them, taking the basket of eggs from Lin Ye's hands.
Wang Tiegang only dared to come out from the corner of the yard after seeing Lin Ye and the others return, while Xueqiu had been barking at him the whole time.
"Snowball, go play, you did a good job." Lu Wanqing praised Snowball, which made him immediately smug.
Lu Wanqing had already guessed that the man in front of her, of medium build and with a fake smile on his face, was Lin Chunhua's husband.
To be honest, given his current state, he's not a good match for Sister Chunhua.
However, when a couple lives together, there's no such thing as being a good match or not; it's all about whether they can get along and whether their life gets better and better.
Lin Chunhua's trip back to her parents' home this time was not with the intention of getting a divorce, but rather to take the opportunity to teach him a lesson. If he could recognize his mistakes, they could still live together.
Lin Chunhua helped Lin Ye move things, and Wang Tiegang then raised three fingers in front of Lu Wanqing and swore a solemn oath:
"Sister-in-law, don't worry, I promise I'll turn over a new leaf this time and never gamble again. If I do, I'll chop off my fingers!"
Chunhua said that if she wanted to be taken away, she would have to get past her younger brother and sister-in-law.
He had also heard from his mother that his sister-in-law was a formidable person with a unique skill, and that she might be able to help him make a lot of money in the future.
He got involved in gambling because he wanted to make more money, but he can't let it cause him to lose his good wife.
"Brother-in-law, your promises to me are useless. Chunhua needs to see your sincerity!" Lu Wanqing said casually before turning to play with her mother-in-law and Xueqiu.
Wang Tiegang was rebuffed and watched helplessly as Lin Chunhua helped Lin Ye pack his things, rubbing his hands and pacing back and forth.
Lin Chunhua left him waiting for another half hour before finally coming out of the house.
