When everyone saw Lin Miaomiao eating with that silly boy from that day, they couldn't help but tease Li Liang:
"Brother Liang, you're having a bad start! You keep getting robbed of things by the younger guys!"
It turned out that he was discussing with some of his buddies about inviting Lin Miaomiao to his birthday party.
Li Liang was quiet and shy in front of Lin Miaomiao, but he had already boasted to his buddies that if he couldn't invite Lin Miaomiao this time, he would write his name backwards.
But seeing the two of them sitting face to face eating made him feel terrible.
He walked over, clenching his fists, and asked in a deep voice:
"Miaomiao, it's my birthday tomorrow. My classmates are throwing me a birthday party. Can you come?"
Lin Miaomiao hesitated for a moment, then refused:
"Sorry, my family has a holiday tomorrow, and I need to go home. My dad won't let me go out alone."
Li Liang was rejected again, and he clenched his fists even tighter, his nails digging into his flesh.
When he left, he deliberately knocked over Tian Mufeng's food with his hand, getting it all over him.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't see it," he said nonchalantly.
Tian Mufeng immediately stood up and looked at him with clear, innocent eyes:
Can I come to your birthday party?
Li Liang's friends burst into laughter:
"Brother Liang, you wouldn't be so stingy, would you? Maybe after the little brother arrives, your Miaomiao can go too!"
"Exactly, let him go. He can bring some fun to everyone."
Li Liang thought for a moment and realized that he might really take this opportunity to teach him a lesson.
"Okay, let's go." He readily agreed.
Lin Miaomiao watched them leave, looked at Tian Mufeng as if she wanted to say something but hesitated, and finally couldn't help but say:
"Li Liang is a bad person, why did you go to his birthday party?"
"Because I've never been there, and I'm curious," he answered honestly as he sat down.
"Are you stupid? Didn't you realize he was trying to mess with you?" She was truly exasperated. He could tolerate her spilling the food, yet he still wanted to deliver a fatal blow.
He didn't say anything more, but silently got another meal and continued eating opposite her.
The next day, Lin Miaomiao managed to escape the harassment of several boys and returned home.
That evening, Lin Duoduo received two movie tickets and dragged her to the cinema in her shopping mall to watch a movie.
As Lin Miaomiao watched the movie, she suddenly wondered what kind of situation Tian Mufeng would encounter, and whether he would be tricked by Li Liang.
She clearly thought he was incredibly presumptuous and ridiculous, yet she couldn't help but worry about him.
Despite her slight worry, she watched the movie as planned and went home with her brother.
Passing by an open-air billiards hall, she saw Li Liang grabbing Tian Mufeng by the collar and saying something.
She tugged at Duo Duo's hand, signaling him that she wanted to come over.
"Do you know that boy?" Duoduo could tell at a glance that the boy was delicate and looked like a pushover.
“He’s the boy I told you about.” Miaomiao smiled mischievously.
Duo Duo knew that since Miao Miao wanted to go, there was no point in stopping her, so he might as well go with her.
At this moment, Li Liang was speaking provocatively to Tian Mufeng:
"You're late. Our dinner party is already over. I was originally going to make you punish yourself with three drinks, but now I'm giving you a chance. If you can beat me in two out of three games of pool, you can skip the penalty drink."
If you lose, here are ten beers; you have to drink them all!
After he finished speaking, the crowd erupted in cheers.
Tian Mufeng paused for two seconds, then nodded in agreement.
"No, that's not fair," Miaomiao quickly stepped forward to stop her.
Li Liang's eyes lit up when he saw her.
"Miaomiao, you're here? I knew you'd come to celebrate my twentieth birthday."
"Amin, go cut a piece of cake for Miaomiao."
His excitement wilted when he saw Lin Duoduo following behind her.
Lin Duoduo is tall and handsome, much better than Li Liang.
Unexpectedly, Tian Mufeng was already giving him a headache, and now another protector of the flower has appeared.
Fortunately, Miaomiao immediately explained that Duoduo was her brother, which made him feel much more at ease.
Lin Miaomiao scoffed, "I heard everything just now. If he loses, he has to drink ten cups of wine. What about if you lose?"
Li Liang thought to himself that he had grown up around pool tables since he was a child, and he was sure he could beat that bookworm, so he patted his chest and said:
"If I lose, I'll switch from beer to baijiu (Chinese liquor) and drink five cups."
"Alright, that's fair. Little brother, do you have any objections?" She turned to look at Tian Mufeng.
Tian Mufeng pursed his lips and nodded:
"I'll listen to you."
Soon, Li Liang announced the rules of billiards, and the two men each took a cue and began their match.
This was Tian Mufeng's first time playing billiards, and at first he didn't even know how to hold the cue.
Fortunately, he was a quick learner and soon succeeded in learning the techniques by stealing knowledge from others.
When he played ball, his true nature was immediately revealed; he was a complete beginner, which made everyone burst into laughter.
"Haha~ Little brother, how about I give you a few points?"
As he spoke, Li Liang made him swing five times before he finally managed to put his first ball into the hole.
In the end, he still lost the first game.
After the game ended, everyone congratulated Li Liang and expressed both mockery and sympathy for Tian Mufeng.
I can't imagine what he would look like after drinking ten beers, given his fair skin and effeminate appearance.
But Tian Mufeng didn't care about other people's ridicule. He stood aside, closed his eyes, and recalled the force he used to grip the club and the angle of his shot.
Two minutes later, he opened his eyes, picked up the cue stick, and was eager to try.
Seeing his pretentious act, Li Liang directly mocked him:
"You go first, you can't get through anyway!"
Without hesitation, he began to hold his breath and concentrate, and started swinging the club.
The first ball went in, then the second...
At first, Li Liang thought he was just lucky and didn't take it seriously, but as the number of balls on the table decreased, he finally became anxious.
After all the balls went into the hole, he felt as if a stone was stuck in his chest, making him feel extremely suffocated.
"Brother Liang, don't worry, this kid just got lucky."
His friend patted him on the shoulder to comfort him, but inwardly he was marveling at Tian Mufeng: Is he a genius? He's only just learned to play, yet he can already clear the board in one go.
The match, which was initially thought to be a foregone conclusion, suddenly attracted everyone's attention with a score of 1-1.
Miaomiao nudged Duoduo's arm, raised an eyebrow, and smiled:
"Isn't that amazing? He has an exceptional learning ability. He has a very high chance of winning the last game."
Duoduo usually learns things very quickly, but this is the first time he has ever seen someone do this well.
Li Liang's friends, fearing he would lose and lose face, let him break first at the start of the third round.
Li Liang had a good start, sinking two solid-color balls at the same time. He then potted four more. The last solid-color ball was not at a good angle, but he concentrated and used his superb skills to pot it.
There was only one black ball left, in a good position; with his skill, he could easily get in.
Miaomiao watched him grip the club and get into position, her heart pounding in her chest...
