Chapter 39 It's going to be okay, right?
The police looked at the results of the questioning and continued to confirm, "Then you and your friend and Mr. Lu came back from some personal matters. You and Mr. Lu went to the hotel together, but stopped at the door of the hotel. What did you go to the hotel for?"
Xia Wange shrugged. "What else can I do?"
Lu Qiu glanced at Xia Wange, frowned, and said nothing.
"Why didn't you go in and leave later?"
Xia Wange said calmly: "We didn't agree on some things, and my best friend happened to look for me, so I went to the hospital, and he accompanied me to the hospital."
"Some things couldn't be agreed upon?" The policeman's eyes moved back and forth between Lu Qiu and Xia Wange.
Just as he frowned and asked if there was any money involved, Lu Qiu interrupted, "We just had a fight."
The police suddenly realized that, yes, these two people had nothing to do with those things, neither in terms of appearance nor temperament.
"After you went to the hospital, you returned home with your boss and found that they were still at your door, but their behavior was very strange, so you chose to call the police."
"Yes." Xia Wange nodded.
"You don't know what they said about being trapped in a wall of ghosts and being possessed by ghosts?"
"I didn't know." Xia Wange was filled with indignation, "This is simply nonsense!"
"Okay, thank you for your cooperation, you can leave." The police confirmed with Liu Mei, then opened the door and went out.
"Finally I finished asking questions." Xia Wange stretched.
Liu Mei glanced at the open door, then looked at Xia Wange with some worry in her eyes.
Xia Wange leaned lazily on the back of the chair and snapped her fingers. Liu Mei and Lu Qiu saw a piece of talisman paper starting to burn at her fingertips.
She said, "This kind of record is the best. If I go into too much detail, it will complicate things. Isn't this a weird but tenable record better? I can't really say that I saw the ghost of Tan Laosan's wife lying behind him crying to me, and I didn't have time to deal with it, so I trapped them there, right?"
Liu Mei widened her eyes and looked at the surveillance camera that was turned on nearby.
Xia Wange shook her head to indicate that she was fine, and then she smiled and said, "I'm optimistic about you, but you must protect ordinary people like me who are defenseless."
Liu Mei was about to say something when Xia Wange raised his finger, shook off the ashes of the talisman paper, and made a gesture to keep quiet.
Then she stood up, walked behind Lu Qiu, looked at Liu Mei and encouraged her, "Keep working on solving the case. All your efforts will pay off. We are going back to sleep now. We have been busy all night. Thank you for your hard work next time."
After saying that, Xia Wange pushed Lu Qiu away.
Liu Mei sat where she was and tilted her head to look at the place where Xia Wange had flicked off the talisman paper ash. She found that the tiles there were incredibly clean, without a single ash left.
She stood up and looked at the surveillance camera, quickly dragging the progress bar until her colleague left and the door was wide open.
Then she saw Xia Wange snap her fingers, and then she just sat there, without moving or speaking. Not long after, she stood up, told her to come on and solve the case, and then left.
After a long time, Liu Mei took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
When her colleagues saw her like this, they asked her what was wrong with concern.
Liu Mei just rubbed her head and said, "I feel like my worldview has been refreshed again."
"Who isn't?" The colleague said speechlessly, "The test results are out, they didn't take drugs, now we need to see the doctor's results, you are a bunch of psychopaths, insisting that there is a ghost on their backs, where is the ghost, come out and walk a few steps so I can see, you just won't tell the truth, you are wasting our time and police resources."
The police station where Liu Mei worked was closer to the company. It was almost six o'clock, so Xia Wange didn't bother and drove directly to the company.
When the guard at the door saw the boss's car arrive so early, he was surprised and thought something big had happened.
Xia Wange had ordered a takeaway breakfast long ago. She carried it all the way with Lu Qiu to his lounge and filled the table with breakfast.
"I don't know what you like to eat, so I ordered some Chinese and Western food. After you finish eating, you can sleep in the lounge. I'll borrow the sofa in your office to sleep for a while."
Lu Qiu picked up the fried dough sticks that he hadn't eaten for a long time. When he heard her say that, he immediately said, "You are in the lounge..."
"No, your legs can't sit for too long. If you don't relax your legs after tossing and turning all night, you might develop related diseases. By then, the problem of purple qi will be solved, but medical problems will arise. It's not worth it. Besides, the sofa outside is not wide enough but not long enough. You are so tall, and you can't rest well."
Lu Qiu drank some soy milk. He was not used to the taste of sweet soy milk mixed with water. Seeing him wolfing down the food very quickly, he hesitated for a moment and asked, "Are you so busy every night?"
"How can that be possible." Xia Wange also wanted to complain, "Things have all come together. Fortunately, I have only officially started working for more than half a month, and I am still young and energetic. Otherwise, if I am tormented like this for a whole night in a few years, I will die right where I am."
Lu Qiu raised his eyebrows, "Over half a month?"
"Yeah." Xia Wange drank half a cup of soy milk and started eating a hamburger. "It was the day you had the car accident. I happened to go to the suburbs to pick up something and prepare to officially open for business. I didn't expect to meet you. As a result, subsequent orders came one after another. I took advantage of your good luck."
Lu Qiu's fingertips gently stroked the wall of the paper cup. "The sound is far away from the high place, not because of the autumn wind."
After a slight pause, Xia Wange laughed, "Thank you for your compliment."
After finishing the burger in a few bites, Xia Wange took out an eye mask from her bag and pointed outside. "I can't hold on any longer. I'm going to rest for a while. I have a soundproof sticker on my body. When you're at work, just come over and push me, and I'll wake up. You can eat slowly."
After saying that, Xia Wange yawned and walked out of the lounge like a wandering soul.
It was not until her figure disappeared that Lu Qiu came back to his senses. He lowered his eyes and stared at the soy milk in the bowl for a moment, then simply took a few more bites.
Xia Wange was right. His waist and thighs could no longer endure such high-intensity running and sitting for long periods of time. The parts below his waist that still had feeling were aching slightly.
After cleaning the table, washing up and changing his clothes, Lu Qiu lay down on the bed in the lounge and closed his eyes. He thought of Xia Wange's tired look after driving all night. Pursing his lips, he raised his hand and stroked his legs.
After a moment, he opened his phone and began searching for ways for someone with no feeling in his legs to get a driver's license.
But the three words "disabled people" that appeared repeatedly on it stung Lu Qiu's eyes and gave him a splitting headache.
He turned off his phone and slowly calmed down. He measured the numb areas on his legs bit by bit, rubbed the small inch of skin that had regained sensation, and then he slowly exhaled.
It will be fine.
Right?
Summer Evening Song.
