Chapter 0 Extra 4: Ke Lao and Liu Ting meet

Chapter 0 Extra 4: Ke Lao and Liu Ting meet

Because of Tang Yue, Tang Jianye and Lai Xiang also got to know each other, and after meeting a few times, they became familiar with each other.

Lai Xiang took the dumplings out of the pot, and Tang Jianye reached out to pinch them when he saw them.

With a "slap", Lai Xiang hit Tang Jianye on the back with his hand. Tang Jianye quickly withdrew his hand. Lai Xiang rolled his eyes at him and said, "The dumplings are so hot right out of the pot, aren't you afraid of burning your hand?"

Lai Xiang's fierce look made Tang Jianye's heart beat uncontrollably. The warm touch on the back of his hand seemed to still linger. At this moment, Tang Jianye suddenly felt as if something had changed.

Lai Xiang finished the fight and realized after she finished talking that she and Tang Jianye weren't that familiar with each other. But how did the action just now come out so naturally?

Lai Xiang regretted it deeply. Really, why had she cared about Tang Jianye? She suddenly felt a little embarrassed, and her face flushed slightly under the mist of moisture.

Tang Jianye stared at Lai Xiang's face for a long time. Lai Xiang was so angry and embarrassed by his reckless behavior. No one had ever stared at her so unscrupulously before.

She didn't say anything else, scooped the dumplings into a bowl and carried them directly into the house. Tang Jianye curled his lips wickedly, turned around and followed her into the house.

He moved the kang table from the ground to the kang, and Lai Xiang put the dumplings on the table.

"Grandma Liu, you must be hungry. Come and eat something first."

Looking at the plump white dumplings filled with stuffing in the bowl, Liu Ting's eyes became moist again.

How long had he not eaten dumplings? Ever since the old man left, she hadn't even seen white flour.

"Hey, girl, boy, let's eat together."

Lai Xiang had originally wanted to go to the cowshed to eat with her parents, but now that they had guests, she couldn't let Grandma Liu eat alone. She had no choice but to grab two more bowls of dumplings, and Tang Jianye and the other two sat on the kang to finish their meal.

Lai Xiang originally cooked a large amount, but Tang Jianye was such a big eater, so the leftovers were not enough to be sent to the cowshed.

Fortunately, people in Northeast China all have the habit of making frozen dumplings, and Lai Xiang has learned a lot during her time here. She doesn't want to bother with this every day, so she made a lot of dumplings today and buried them in the snow in the yard.

After adding more firewood to the stove, Lai Xiang went out to dig out a lot of frozen dumplings, boiled the water and cooked another pot.

Liu Ting rested on the kang for a while and ate some hot dumplings. Now she felt warm all over.

She was so worried about her husband that she couldn't contain herself. She stood at the door of the main hall, wanting to speak but not knowing how to say it.

Tang Jianye was squatting in the stove, lighting a fire. Seeing Grandma Liu's anxious look, he was amused. "Don't worry, Grandma Liu. We'll go over after the dumplings are cooked."

Mr. Ke is right there, he can’t run away.”

When the three of them arrived at the cowshed, Mr. Ke and Mr. Xu were staying in Lai Jiaxing's house.

When Lai Xiang came yesterday, he said that he would deliver dumplings tonight, so none of them had dinner and were chatting in low voices.

When there was a knock on the door, Lai Jiaxing immediately went over to open it.

"Xiangxiang is here, come in quickly."

Seeing two more people behind him, Lai Jiaxing stepped aside again. Tang Jianye and Lai Jiaxing knew each other, and they nodded. However, Lai Jiaxing couldn't clearly see the face of the thin, short old woman behind him in the dim light of the fire.

But guests are guests, so Lai Jiaxing quickly and politely invited them in. Liu Ting's heart was pounding all the way. She never thought that she would be able to go all the way to the Northeast to see the old man.

The person was right in front of her, but she didn't know what to do.

As soon as I entered the room, my eyes immediately fell on the old man sitting on a stool at the side, wearing a tattered cotton jacket.

In the dim candlelight, Liu Ting saw that the old man looked in good spirits and his eyes were bright. She could no longer control her tears and they flowed down.

Mr. Ke wanted to tease her that Xiangxiang was a little late today, but when he saw the frail old lady at the door, he couldn't believe his eyes.

Mr. Ke stood up and wiped his eyes with the clean part of his sleeve. When he opened his eyes again, the old lady was still standing in front of him, crying.

He immediately walked over and wiped Liu Ting's tears with a clean part of his sleeve. "What's wrong? You finally came to see me in a dream, and now you're crying."

You are so old, and you still cry easily. Be careful with your eyes."

The rough man who had spent his whole life in the military was now speaking in a soft voice, which stunned Lai Jiaxing's family and Tang Jianye.

Liu Ting's tears flowed even more violently as he spoke, and her shoulders began to tremble. Mr. Ke didn't know what he was thinking. Perhaps he had let go of everything after this experience, or perhaps he thought he was dreaming. He simply pulled Liu Ting into his arms.

"Oh, look at you, you are already so old, don't cry, don't cry.

I haven't dreamed of you since I came here. It's a rare opportunity to see you, let's have a good chat."

What Mr. Ke said made everyone standing nearby feel sad. The old man usually looked serious, but it turned out that was just his protective color. He also missed home and his family.

Liu Ting sobbed for a long time, then reached out and firmly grasped Mr. Ke's wrist. "What nonsense are you talking about? What dream or not? I'm standing right in front of you, aren't I?"

Feeling the real touch on his wrist, Mr. Ke could not hide the shock in his eyes.

Looking at the withered old lady in front of him, he frowned and narrowed his eyes. "How did you become like this? You have lost so much weight. They treated you harshly."

What Mr. Ke said was affirmative. He was blind and didn't see what kind of people his sons were before. If he still can't see it now, he would be a big fool.

Liu Ting felt even more heartbroken when she mentioned this. Wu Jinghua brought over two benches.

"Uncle Ke, I finally got here. Please let me sit down first."

The stool was padded with thick cotton, so it wasn't cold at all when he sat down. Mr. Ke regained his composure at this point, and sat down next to Liu Ting, holding her hand tightly.

"How did you get here?"

At this point, no one in the room was in the mood to eat. They all wanted to know why Liu Ting suddenly appeared in the Northeast. No matter how you looked at it, her appearance was abnormal.

Liu Ting wiped her tears with the other hand that was not held, and then smiled embarrassedly at everyone.

"Xiangxiang brought you some dumplings. Let's eat them while they're hot. We'll talk about other things later."

Now that she was here and saw the old man standing in front of her in good health, she felt relieved and no longer had to worry about anything else.

But how could they be in the mood to eat at this moment? They all looked at Liu Ting eagerly, wondering why he came here.

Mr. Xu was also shocked when he saw Liu Ting. They had thought of thousands of possibilities, but they never thought that Mr. Ke's wife would come all the way here.

Mr. Xu no longer has a partner, and at this moment he can only feel envy.

Seeing that no one moved, Liu Ting knew that if she didn't say anything, they would not be able to have the meal.

"A little girl appeared at home a few days ago. She asked someone to send me here."

There was a dim and unclear look in Mr. Ke's eyes. When he heard the word "little girl", the first person he thought of was Xiao Yueyue.

But Xiao Yueyue is not a person without sense of propriety. If nothing happened at home, she would not let her old woman take such a long train ride to the Northeast alone in the cold weather.

"Did those unfilial sons abuse you?"

Hearing this, Liu Ting's throat choked up. Her silent sobs made everyone feel even more distressed.
