Chapter 277 Noticed Something Strange

Qiuzi seemed to be very fond of the flowers in front of her. She watered them first. "I've been a little busy these past two days and have neglected them. If I don't water them, they will get thirsty."

Tang Yue nodded, and the two began to chat about the flowers and plants in front of them. During the conversation, Tang Yue felt that Qiuzi was very knowledgeable about various flowers and plants, and there was a special light in her eyes.

Tang Yue's mind moved, thinking this was a good starting point. She said enthusiastically, "I have always been particularly fond of various plants in nature. I think they are full of vitality and mystery.

I've seen a special plant called Mimosa somewhere before. Its leaves close immediately if you touch it. It's really interesting. Have you seen it here?"

Qiuzi showed an interested expression on her face and said, "Mimosa, I have heard of it, but it is rare here.

We have many other interesting plants here, such as plantain, which is not only used as medicine, but the young shoots are also edible."

As she spoke, Qiuzi introduced some common local plants to Tang Yue, sharing their uses and characteristics.

Tang Yue listened with great interest, asked some questions from time to time, and shared some plant knowledge she knew. The two of them chatted back and forth, and they got along very well. They had more and more common topics, and their relationship became closer unknowingly.

"By the way, have you ever seen a golden camellia? The flowers are golden yellow, sparkling and glistening, and very smooth and glossy. The surface of the flowers seems to be coated with a layer of wax, which looks particularly beautiful."

"Golden Camellia, ah, very beautiful." Qiuzi's face flickered with nostalgia. But then she remembered something and immediately straightened her expression. She turned to look at Tang Yue, a scrutinizing look in her eyes.

"Have you ever seen a golden camellia?"

Qiuzi didn't want to continue this topic, but it was very dangerous and she had to ask clearly.

Tang Yue already had an idea in her mind. She had originally thought this was an unusual woman, but she hadn't connected Qiuzi with China. Now, looking back, perhaps this woman had also been to China, or even spent considerable time there.

"Yes, I have. I think it's the most beautiful flower I've ever seen. My neighbor has a pot of it. She loves it so much. Usually when we visit her house, she won't show it to us."

Qiuzi frowned, "Then how did you know that?"

"Hehe, Big Bear and I are friends. When his mother is not at home, he invites us to his house and brings out flowers for us to admire, but we are never allowed to touch them."

The suspicion in Qiuzi's eyes faded a lot, but Tang Yue was not sure whether she really believed him. However, she soon found out.

"Oh, we talked for so long I forgot to make dinner. I'll go cook now."

Tang Yue stood up and asked, "Do you need my help?"

Qiuzi smiled and said, "No, our food is simple, please don't mind."

Tang Yue quickly waved her hand, "You're really too polite. I'm really sorry to bother you, and I'm really embarrassed that you said that."

Qiuzi nodded, and Tang Yue continued, "Can I stay here for a while and look at these lovely flowers and plants? I really like them, but my mother doesn't know how to take care of them."

Qiuzi was naturally happy to agree. "Okay, then you need to play by yourself for a while."

"Well, go ahead and get busy. Thank you for your hard work."

Qiuzi turned and left. Tang Yue sat on a small bench in the yard, looking at the flowers and plants in front of her. Consciousness followed Qiuzi to the kitchen.

She went in first and took out a piece of pork. After slicing it thinly, she poured some water into the pot and went to the backyard to get firewood to start a fire. As soon as she walked out of the backyard door, Qiuzi came around the west side of the house and peeked at Tang Yue from the side of the front yard wall.

Seeing that Tang Yue had indeed been sitting on the small stool, he seemed relieved and went to the backyard to get firewood. The fire in the stove had just been lit when the man named Zheping entered the yard. When he saw Tang Yue, he instinctively frowned slightly. Then he walked over as if nothing had happened.

"Who are you?"

Tang Yue had already stood up. She looked a little embarrassed and quickly bowed politely, "Hello, I'm Du Kong. I just met the aunt here on the way.

My aunt knew I was a little hungry, so she invited me to her house for dinner."

Zheping's expression improved noticeably. He nodded slightly and walked past Tang Yue to go into the house. Tang Yue asked softly from behind him, "Excuse me, can I eat here?"

Zheping stood for a moment, then turned and smiled gently at Tang Yue, "Okay. Please do as you please." Then he went into the house.

Akiko must have known that Zheping was back. She walked into the hall and said, "You're back."

"Well, who's that kid outside?"

Qiuzi walked to the door of the house and saw that Tang Yue did not look back into the house, but sat on the bench and looked at the flowers and plants obediently, so she walked in again.

"I just met her on the way home. She looked very hungry, so I brought her back."

Teppei seemed very dissatisfied with her behavior, "Don't bring strangers home casually." Akiko nodded, "Hey! I get it. But..."

Qiuzi didn't say the rest, and Zheping seemed to remember something. He stepped forward and held Qiuzi's shoulders. "Qiuzi, there will be children in the future."

Qiuzi took a step back, her face expressionless. "I'm fine. I just couldn't help myself because of the child's age. She'll leave after dinner. I'll go cook."

Zheping then realized that he had said something wrong. He quickly grabbed Qiuzi's hand and said, "Qiuzi, I didn't mean it."

Qiuzi broke free and said, "It's okay, it's over. If she were still alive..." Qiuzi's voice was a little choked. She didn't say the next word and went straight to the kitchen.

Zheping stood there looking at Qiuzi, his eyes dark and unclear.

Tang Yue raised her eyebrows slightly. These two seemed to have a lot of stories. Each one of them was extraordinary. My hands were itching, what should I do? I really wanted to give them some truth serum.

Qiuzi quickly cooked the noodles, opened the door, and smiled at Tang Yue. "We've been talking for so long, and I still don't know your name."

"My name is Dukong."

"Dukong, that sounds like a nice name."

"Thank you for the compliment."

"You're welcome. The meal is ready. Come inside and eat."

"Okay, thank you."

Tang Yue followed him into the house. Unexpectedly, Qiuzi's cooking skills were quite good. The pork noodles looked simple, but they tasted very good.

"Wow, the noodles you made are really delicious. Thank you very much."

Seeing Tang Yue enjoying her meal, Qiuzi's eyes drifted away unconsciously, and she didn't know what she was thinking. Only when she felt someone watching her did she come back to her senses. Zheping gave Qiuzi a somewhat reproachful look.

Qiuzi smiled and said, "You're welcome. Are you full? If you want to eat more..."

"No, I'm full." Tang Yue wasn't actually very full, but she knew Qiuzi only cooked one bowl for each person. Moreover, because she was a child, she deliberately gave her less.

Qiuzi seemed very satisfied with Tang Yue's actions. Tang Yue did not help Qiuzi wash the dishes, but waited in the living room. She did not look around or stand up to walk around casually.

This made Zheping very satisfied.

By the time Qiuzi had finished packing, it was getting dark outside. Tang Yue looked at the sky, a troubled look on her face. After a while, she saluted Qiuzi and Zheping as if she had made up her mind.

"Thank you very much for your hospitality. It's getting late now, I should go now."

Zheping did not try to persuade her to stay. Akiko seemed to hesitate for a moment, but seeing that Zheping looked very disapproving, she finally did not speak to persuade him to stay.

"Okay, then go slowly on your way."

"Yes, I will. Thank you both again."

Afterwards, Tang Yue left Qiuzi's house and walked towards the town, and soon left the village.

Qiuzi watched the child walk away at the gate of the yard and returned to the house after a long time.

"What are you looking at?"

Qiuzi seemed to be in a bad mood and didn't want to pay attention to Zheping. Zheping followed her. "Qiuzi, don't forget our identities. If you do this, there will be terrible consequences."
