Chapter 337: Fierce Battle at Sea

Chapter 337: Fierce Battle at Sea

337

He actually heard that those people boarded the American ship and headed towards the United States. How could the emperor sit still at this time? These damn Americans are really going too far.

A cabinet minister pondered for a moment and then spoke, "Your Majesty, could this be a misunderstanding? After all, Japan and the United States are partners, and they wouldn't do something like this."

The Emperor was furious at the moment. "Why is it impossible? We have a world-class pathogen testing base. If we want, it would be easy to take down any country.

Is the US scared? That's why they blew up our germ lab."

The cabinet minister didn't know what to say for a moment. But he felt that this was unlikely. After all, if the US really wanted to, their approach would likely be more direct.

He continued, "Your Majesty, the things we have lost in various places are not good things for the United States."

The emperor was even more reluctant to hear this. "How do you know they don't consider these things valuable? They're fighting wars everywhere, and no matter how much they have, it's not enough for them."

The cabinet minister fell silent. Then another cabinet minister spoke up, "Your Majesty, it's actually quite simple to know if this was done by the United States."

The Emperor looked at him angrily, but the man remained respectful, "Your Majesty, please contact the United States and verify it yourself."

Other members of parliament and cabinet ministers expressed their opinions. Some supported this statement, while others disagreed, believing that even if this was done by Americans, they would not admit it.

Just as the Japanese upper echelons were arguing fiercely, the Americans who had lost their goods at the Hegequan Port had already contacted the United States angrily.

They were very direct. The Japanese had stolen all of their cargo ships using despicable means. This was extremely bad. This incident must teach the Japanese a lesson. At the same time, they must also make the Japanese pay several times the amount of compensation for their cargo and ships.

The United States hadn't expected the situation in Japan to develop to this point. They even dared to take American ships and goods. How could this be allowed? Regardless of whether the Japanese staged this incident or not, they must be held accountable for it.

Therefore, the United States publicly condemned Japan's banditry that morning and demanded compensation for all losses suffered by the United States. The news reached countries around the world. Some gloated over the misfortune, while others tightened their belts.

Such a thing is simply too unbelievable. They have no idea what is going on, but they think that they must do a good job in the security of their country and such thieves must not come to their country.

Tang Jianye and his men had no idea what was going on within Japan or between Japan and the United States.

At this time, they were speeding up their boats towards the United States. Since dawn, the tracking planes in the sky began to change their tactics because other planes were flying towards them from Japan.

Chen Duxing and his men were on guard duty in the sky. Seeing the situation, they immediately went to the control room to find Tang Jianye. "Old Tang, there's something going on. The Japanese planes are chasing us."

Tang Jianye looked at the time and said, "They're not very fast."

Chen Duxing's expression was not very good. "They have invested a lot of money this time. I think there are at least a dozen of them. Old Tang, you must be ready."

Tang Jianye quickened his pace. "I have to say, these American things are really good, with really high specifications. I happen to want to try out some of the heavy firepower points on the ship. I want to see if their firepower has improved after not seeing them for over a year."

Chen Duxing smiled, "Okay, then let's make these little things bigger."

Tang Jianye and his companions, riding a US cargo ship, cut through the waves, while 15 Japanese aircraft, like vicious hawks, pursued them relentlessly. Missiles were mounted on the aircraft's bellies, and the cannons under their wings flashed a cold light, a thick murderous intent reflected in the sunlight.

"Old Tang! We've confirmed that there are 15 planes firing. The two tracking planes have already returned."

"Prepare for battle!" Tang Jianye commanded, and the men in black quickly took their positions. This battle was their first since regaining consciousness. Though isolated and helpless, with their lives at stake, they pressed forward without hesitation. The fearless spirit of the Chinese soldier must endure forever.

Although the ship was tossed by the waves, everyone's eyes were firm, with no intention of retreating. The plane was getting closer and closer, and the sharp whistling sound seemed to tear the sky apart.

Suddenly, an airplane accelerated and launched the first attack, and a missile flew towards the cargo ship like a meteor.

"Keep hidden!" someone shouted.

Tang Jianye suddenly turned the joystick, and the cargo ship tilted and turned violently in the waves. The missile flew past the side of the ship and exploded on the sea not far away, causing splashes more than ten meters high. The huge impact force made the cargo ship shake even more violently.

Water splashed and fell on their boat like a bucket, soaking many people.

Before everyone could recover, the planes launched another attack, artillery fire roared, and dense shells rained down on the cargo ship.

Tang Jianye stared at the situation outside with his eyes as sharp as torches. The defense system on the cargo ship was quickly activated. While dodging the missiles, it began to fight back using anti-aircraft guns.

Flames spurted from the muzzles, and shells whistled into the sky, intertwining with the shells fired by the planes. For a moment, the sea was filled with flames and smoke.

A shell accurately hit one of the planes in the group. The plane caught fire instantly, dragged a long trail of black smoke, and fell into the sea with a dull explosion.

But the Japanese planes didn't retreat; instead, they intensified their attack. Another plane swooped down and fired a missile at the cargo ship at close range. This missile was incredibly fast, and it was about to hit. At that critical moment, the ship's heavy machine gunners unleashed a barrage of bullets, raining down a hail of bullets on the planes.

The pilot of the plane was unable to dodge and the missile deviated from its trajectory and exploded in front of the cargo ship, causing huge waves that almost capsized the cargo ship.

Tang Jianye kept changing the cargo ship's course and position according to the direction of the missiles. Although no missiles directly hit the cargo ship, the cargo ship suffered considerable damage in the fierce exchange of fire.

The ship was hit by shells from planes in many places, the planks were broken, and seawater continued to pour in. But the men in black did not panic at all, and continued to fight while repairing the ship.

Tang Jianye looked at the damaged and sinking ship and his comrades who were resisting stubbornly, his heart filled with pride. Today, even if they died in the Pacific, they would take down all the Japanese planes with them.

He picked up the walkie-talkie and shouted, "Brothers, we can't lose! To go home and to protect each other, let's fight!" Everyone responded in unison, and the roar echoed on the sea.

Seeing that the attack was not going anywhere, the Japanese aircraft began to change their tactics. They split into two groups, one group drew the cargo ship's fire from the air while the other group looked for an opportunity to launch a fatal attack.

But Tang Jianye and others were not pushovers either. They closely monitored the movements of the aircraft and cleverly changed their course to respond to the enemy's tactics.

Just when the battle was at a stalemate, a plane found the right opportunity, broke through the cargo ship's defenses, and launched a missile, which flew straight towards the cargo ship's cockpit.

Tang Jianye stood in the cockpit, staring at the approaching missile with wide eyes. Although his hands were constantly changing the direction of the cargo ship, he knew that they could not avoid this missile.

The reason for this was that the cargo ship was no longer under control of the control room. The reason it hadn't completely sunk was that everyone had worked together to block the many large holes. However, those blockages could only hold up temporarily, and within ten minutes, the ship would inevitably sink rapidly.

But how could they just give up like that? Tang Jianye still wanted to fight hard, and the others on the boat were also firing at the missiles with the little firepower on board, but all their efforts were so powerless at this moment.

The missile's trajectory remained unchanged as it flew towards the cargo ship.
