Chapter 458: Bloody Battle in the Dark Night
458
Tang Shengkai reacted extremely quickly, his head quickly tilted to the side, and the fist flew past his cheek, bringing a burning sensation.
However, the man's attack was continuous like a storm. He followed up with a side kick and his sturdy leather boots went straight to Tang Shengkai's ribs.
Tang Shengkai quickly leaned back and crossed his arms to block. With a dull "bang", the kick hit his arm hard. Severe pain spread instantly, but at least he managed to neutralize the fierce attack.
The man's attack missed, a flicker of anger in his eyes. He spun around, his right hand whipping out a gleaming blade like lightning. Under the dim light, the blade drew a cold arc of light and flew towards Tang Shengkai's throat.
Tang Shengkai's pupils suddenly shrank, and his body leaned back rapidly, almost parallel to the ground. The blade flew past his throat, lifting a strand of hair. It was extremely dangerous.
Tang Shengkai knew he couldn't take the beating any longer. He seized the moment the man's attack was interrupted and lunged forward, aiming directly at the man's knife-wielding right hand. With a deft twist of his wrist, the blade slashed towards Tang Shengkai's arm. Tang Shengkai quickly retracted his arm, simultaneously bending his leg and lifting it, delivering a side kick towards the man's knee.
The man dodged sideways, clenched his left fist, and aimed directly at Tang Shengkai's solar plexus. Tang Shengkai lowered his head and cleverly avoided it. Taking advantage of the momentum of leaning forward, he used his shoulder to hit the man's chest hard.
The immense force of the impact sent the man back a few steps, crashing into the corridor wall. However, he quickly regained his balance, wielding his blade, the cold light forming a web in the air as he pressed forward.
Tang Shengkai dodged nimbly while searching for an opportunity to counterattack. His sharp eyes suddenly noticed that the man's footwork was a bit unsteady and his center of gravity shifted as he swung his knife repeatedly, leaving a brief gap in his defensive lower body.
Tang Shengkai seized this fleeting opportunity, ignoring the threat of the blade, and rushed forward. He lowered his body and hit the man's knife-wielding arm with his elbow like a hammer.
There was a crisp sound of bones snapping in the man's arm, and the blade nearly slipped out of his hand, tracing an arc in the air. Tang Shengkai pressed his advantage, sweeping across with a whip kick, striking the man hard in the waist. The man grunted and stumbled back.
The man, enraged and humiliated, swung his blade like an enraged beast, his attacks becoming increasingly ferocious. Tang Shengkai sustained multiple cuts, his shirt stained red with blood, but he fought on with increasing courage, his eyes blazing with unyielding determination. The battalion commander was still inside, and he would not retreat at this moment.
He took advantage of the moment when the man swung the knife again, suddenly changed direction, rushed forward at an extremely fast speed, grabbed the man's wrist with both hands, and threw him over his shoulder, sending him falling heavily to the ground.
However, the man was no pushover. The moment he fell to the ground, he raised his knee and slammed it hard into Tang Shengkai's abdomen. Tang Shengkai groaned at the sudden blow and curled up.
The man seized the opportunity, leaping to his feet and grabbing Tang Shengkai's neck with both hands. Tang Shengkai struggled to breathe, his vision blurring, but with unwavering determination, he struck the man's lower body with his knee. The man, overcome by pain, let go, and Tang Shengkai, gasping for air, quickly distanced himself.
But the man unexpectedly slipped another blade from his sleeve and lunged at him again. Tang Shengkai's breathing was momentarily stagnant after being strangled by the neck, and he was half a beat slower in dodging, and the blade pierced his shoulder fiercely.
Tang Shengkai knelt on one knee, blood gushing from the wound on his shoulder, staining the ground dark red. He clenched his teeth, his eyes weary, but he stared intently at the yellow-haired man before him, his hands still in a defensive position.
The yellow-haired man was breathing heavily, with a cruel smile on his lips. The blade in his hand was dripping with blood, and it was glowing strangely in the dim light.
He approached step by step, like a predator, taking his time to torment his prey. "Yellow people, is this all you can do?" he scoffed in slow, disdainful English.
Tang Shengkai didn't respond, his mind racing, searching for a last glimmer of hope. When the yellow-haired man swung his knife again, he suddenly rolled sideways, dodging the fatal blow, and then kicked the man's ankle.
The yellow-haired man staggered, but quickly regained his balance. He became even more furious and swung his blade wildly in the direction of Tang Shengkai.
Tang Shengkai seized an opportunity while dodging and rushed towards the man, trying to knock him down. However, the yellow-haired man was prepared and spun nimbly, slicing a long gash across Tang Shengkai's abdomen from top to bottom with the blade in his hand.
Tang Shengkai felt a sharp, piercing pain as warm blood gushed out, soaking his clothes. Unable to hold on any longer, he collapsed to the ground, his consciousness beginning to fade.
The yellow-haired man looked at the fallen Tang Shengkai, a murderous look in his eyes, and raised his blade, ready to deliver the final blow. Just then, a burst of hurried footsteps could be heard outside, and several American soldiers rushed in upon hearing the commotion. "Stop! What's going on?" the leading soldier shouted.
A flash of panic flashed in the yellow-haired man's eyes. He glanced at Tang Shengkai unwillingly, quickly put the blade into his sleeve, and turned to run outside. Seeing this, several American soldiers immediately chased after him, shouting, "Stop! Don't run!"
A moment later, an American soldier returned. He squatted down and looked at the dying Tang Shengkai. He supported Tang Shengkai. "Are you okay? What happened?" he asked in English, reaching out to feel Tang Shengkai's breath.
Tang Shengkai was already a little conscious, but when he saw the American soldiers and remembered that Chang Yin was still inside, how could he fall down like this? What if the battalion commander was discovered?
Suddenly, he seemed to understand something. Why did that yellow-haired, eyes-closed guy attack him the moment he saw him, without even giving him a chance to speak? And why did he run away when he saw these American soldiers?
Is he here to steal information too?
Tang Shengkai stretched out his hand with great effort, pointing in the direction where the yellow-haired man ran away. "Catch, catch him, he, he is a spy."
Tang Shengkai's English was really bad, and he was seriously injured at the time, so his brain was not as flexible and he could not remember the words clearly, but he still remembered them one by one.
The American soldier supporting him understood and felt quite sympathetic towards him. "Yes, he's a spy from Russia. We've been keeping an eye on him for a long time. Don't worry about it. I'll get someone to take you to the medical center right now."
Tang Shengkai didn't quite understand what he was saying, but it didn't seem like he was being reprimanded. He was covered in wounds, and before going to the battlefield, they had agreed not to use spiritual power unless it was a life-or-death situation.
He shouldn't be able to die like this, right? Then there's no need to use spiritual power.
Chang Yin had already finished copying the information when he heard the American soldiers shouting. He closed the folder and put the information in his space ring. He wanted to go out and see what was going on outside, but it would be difficult to explain his presence inside the headquarters.
He casually picked up a stack of information from the table and put it into the space. When the American soldiers went out to arrest people, he went out and saw Tang Shengkai's appearance. Tang Shengkai was still conscious. He shook his head at Chang Yin. Chang Yin immediately used an invisibility talisman to chase the yellow-haired and blue-eyed man.
That man had to be eliminated. He was an eyewitness. So Tang Shengkai could save him later, but if he got away, it would be hard to say. Chang Yin slipped away right under the noses of the American soldiers supporting Tang Shengkai.
He ran in the other direction. He understood what the American soldier had said. Since he was sent by Russia, his purpose should be the same as theirs. They had entered at a similar time, which meant that their escape routes would be almost the same.
Sure enough, Chang Yin didn't run far before he intercepted the blond-haired, blue-eyed man, Gagarin.
The night was as thick as indissoluble ink, and the route of the American military camp was dimly visible in the moonlight.
Chang Yin held the invisibility talisman in his palm, his figure blending into the shadows, and he rushed like a ghost following Gagarin's hurried footsteps.
His eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, fixed on the fleeing figure in front of him. His clothes fluttered in the wind, and every step he took was silent, but with an oppressive feeling of determination to win.
Gagarin's rapid breathing was particularly clear in the silent night. He looked back from time to time, and cold sweat slid down his forehead, soaking his collar. Suddenly, a slight gust of wind hit him from behind, his pupils suddenly constricted, and he instinctively fell forward.
