Chapter 6 Your dad will never get better this way

Chapter 6 Your dad will never get better this way

"Your father is in this condition and there is no way he can get better." Xu Zhiwei stood aside and stated the facts seriously.

"Shut up!" Tang Yue glanced at Xu Zhiwei coldly. The little fat man was so scared that he trembled and hid behind Mr. Xu.

Master Xu slapped Xu Zhiwei on the head. This kid is good in every way except that he's too talkative. Doesn't he know that the truth hurts?

Xu Zhiwei reached out and rubbed his head. He was used to being hit on the head by his grandfather. But, my god, the look in this skinny little monkey's eyes was so scary. It was too frightening.

Mr. Xu stood by the kang, his eyes fixed on Tang Shengkai's festering leg for a long time. His brows knitted together. Although he was surprised by Tang Yue's suggestion, he had to admit that it might be a feasible solution.

"Cui Cui, how about I give it a try? It's not a good idea for the third brother to keep doing this..."

Lin Cuicui was unsure of what to do. She couldn't bear the thought of having her flesh dug out of her body with a knife.

"Mom, let Erye try. Dad's wound will only get worse if it keeps like this."

Tang Bei and the other two stood aside without saying a word. Their sister was so brave that it was a bit scary for them to hear what she said.

After hearing what Tang Yue said, Lin Cuicui actually had no other choice. This was just waiting to die, so she might as well take a gamble.

"Well, Uncle, please fix it for me."

Mr. Xu took a deep breath, turned around and took out a sharp scalpel from the wooden box. This was the only tool he had for treating wounds, and he usually treasured it very much.

"Cui Cui, go boil some hot water and find some clean cloths." Mr. Xu's voice was steady, with a hint of unquestionable power. At the same time, this momentum also affected the other people in the room.

Lin Cuicui didn't ask any more questions and immediately ran to the outer room to boil water.

Tang Bei, Tang Nan, and Tang Dong stood aside, their faces filled with tension and worry. They wanted to say something, but swallowed it back. They just clenched their fists tightly and prayed silently for their father.

Tang Yue stood on the other side of the kang, her small hands tightly grasping the lifted corner of the quilt, her eyes full of determination. Her current strength was limited. If she wanted to stop Tang Shengkai's illness from spreading, she had to clean the wound first.

Master Xu began his attempt. He first cleaned the scalpel with strong liquor, and then carefully cut open the rotten flesh on Tang Shengkai's leg.

As the rotting flesh was cut away, the room was immediately filled with a foul and disgusting odor. Xu Zhiwei was the first to rush out of the room.

Master Xu remained calm, each cut being extremely difficult. He had never done this before, but now he was the only one who could help.

He was very careful not to touch any healthy areas. Pus and blood mixed together on Tang Shengkai's legs, irritating everyone's eyes and nerves.

Lin Cuicui brought hot water and a clean cloth. She stood beside Mr. Xu, ready to help at any time.

Her hands trembled unconsciously, but her eyes were determined. Despite the unpleasant smell in the house, a glimmer of hope rose in Lin Cuicui's heart. Perhaps her husband could really get better.

Seeing Tang Yue still staring at her from the kang, Lin Cuicui went over, picked her up and took her to the west room.

"Yueyue, be good. Play with Zhiwei in this room for a while. I'll pack it for your dad later and you can go over there."

She really couldn't bear to see her little girl being so shocked by that kind of scene.

When Lin Cuicui went over, she saw a pained expression on Tang Shengkai's face. His brows were furrowed, and his lips were pursed. Although he was almost unconscious due to the high fever, the pain still made his body twitch involuntarily.

Master Xu's movements slowed down, beads of sweat covering his forehead. He had never performed surgery on a human before; this was his first time. If Tang Shengkai hadn't been in such a state, he wouldn't have dared to do it.

After all, they had only heard about surgery from outsiders, and they had no idea how it was done. They only knew a few professional terms.

The severely rotten areas in the front were cleaned up, and the work became more delicate as we moved towards the back, as we could easily scrape off the good meat. Master Xu's hands began to tremble slightly.

Finally, the last piece of rotten flesh was cut off. Master Xu wiped the wound with a clean cloth and then applied his homemade hemostatic ointment. His movements were very meticulous and careful, and it was obvious that he took this matter very seriously.

"Okay, in the next few days, you have to change his dressing every day to keep the wound clean." Mr. Xu's voice was filled with undisguised fatigue, but more of it was relief.

He has done everything he can, and the rest, well, is up to God.

Lin Cuicui nodded repeatedly, and she thanked Master Xu with gratitude. She knew that if Master Xu didn't take action, the head of the family would have no chance of survival.

Tang Bei, Tang Nan, and Tang Dong stood aside, their faces also showing happy smiles. Maybe their father could be saved and would not have to die.

But the scene in the east room was quite different.

Xu Zhiwei ran out of the house because of the smell of rotting meat, but it was too cold outside and he couldn't stand it, so he went into the east room.

After Lin Cuicui brought Tang Yue over, the two little ones stared at each other.

"Little skinny monkey, are you looking at me?"

Xu Zhiwei's words were really annoying, but Tang Yue had lived for twenty or thirty years, so naturally she wouldn't bother with a seven or eight-year-old child.

"Your name is Xu Zhiwei?"

"What's wrong? I'm telling you, don't try to get close to me. I won't take you out to play even if you do."

Xu Zhiwei looked at Tang Yue with caution. There were so many children in the village, and he was used to seeing many of them wanting to go out of the village to play with him.

Tang Yue couldn't help but roll her eyes, "I'm weak, I won't go out now."

"Yeah, yeah, that's right, you can't go out. You're as skinny as a stick and ugly as a bastard. If you go out, you'll scare people."

Tang Yue......

She had heard this brat call her ugly more than once. Immortal cultivators didn't care much about their appearance, but because of the spiritual energy they possessed, ugly cultivators were rare.

Although Tang Yue has not looked at her appearance in the mirror yet, judging from her bones, she should not be ugly.

"Heh, whether I look good or not is none of your business."

"Yes, it really has nothing to do with me. Anyway, when I grow up and get married, I will definitely marry a woman with a big butt so that she can give birth."

Tang Yue was stunned again.

This kid is only seven or eight years old? He's already thinking about getting married and having children at such a young age?

"Xu Zhiwei, are you thinking too far ahead?"

"It's not far. I'm the only boy in my family. If it weren't for the national rule that men can only get married at 20, I might have gotten married in seven or eight years."

Tang Yue......

Getting married before the age of 20, isn't that too early?

What kind of era is this?

"Xu Zhiwei, do you know where we are?"

Xu Zhiwei looked at Tang Yue as if he were mentally retarded, "Skinny monkey, you don't even know which country you are from, do you?"

Tang Yue was not at all afraid of Xu Zhiwei's suspicious look. "Don't you claim to go out often? Let me test you."

"Tsk, how can this be difficult for me? Our country of China has only been established for more than ten years. Everyone knows this."

China? Never heard of it.

"What kind of exercises do you usually practice?"

Xu Zhiwei looked at Tang Yue as if she were an idiot.

"You think you're some hero from a storybook, practicing martial arts? Who knows that?"

Tang Yue's heart skipped a beat. What did that mean? She hadn't sensed any spiritual energy fluctuations from Tang Bei and the others, and had assumed they would practice some basic martial arts like those in the mortal realm. Could it be that they didn't have that?

"So what do you usually study?"

"I usually follow my grandfather to identify herbs, or do some housework. I haven't learned much."

"You're not asking about school, are you? You'd have to ask your eldest brother about that. My grandfather said he'd send me there next year, but I haven't been to school yet."

Tang Yue heard a new word. School? Could it be an academy or something? Her eldest brother should be nine years old, which should be the age for an academy to accept students. But it's not too early.

Why didn’t her second brother go?

"No, skinny monkey, why do you keep asking these questions? Do you know nothing?"
