Chapter 7 The word hero is not often used.
Before Tang Yue could say anything, Tang Bei and the other two came running over excitedly.
"Sister, sister, the Second Master really dug out Dad's legs. It's already been dug out."
"Yeah, sister, Dad will definitely get better."
"Yes, Dad will definitely get better. Sister, I'll carry you over to see Dad."
Before Tang Yue could reply, Tang Dong had already climbed onto the kang and picked up his sister. Tang Nan was holding her at the edge of the kang, and Tang Bei was protecting her from the side.
Tang Yue......
Even though she had only been here for two days, she couldn't even remember how many times she had been held. She seemed to be very used to this damn habit.
When Tang Yue went over, Second Master Xu was wiping his sweat with a handkerchief. "Thank you, Second Master."
Tang Yue's soft voice attracted the attention of Master Xu, who smiled at the little girl and said, "It's all thanks to you, Yueyue."
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have the courage to dig out the rotten meat for your father. You are very brave, little girl."
Tang Yue smiled with her eyes wide open, "Second Grandpa's cooking skills are great."
Master Xu touched Tang Yue's head and sighed, "The little girl is really sensible."
"Thank you, uncle. I..."
Mr. Xu waved his hand, he understood what Lin Cuicui meant.
"I still have some herbal ointment to stop bleeding, but I'm out of the herbs for fever and inflammation."
Lin Cuicui nodded. She understood what Mr. Xu meant. They couldn't afford the fever and inflammation pills, and Mr. Xu didn't have many either.
Tang Yue saw the small white bottles in Mr. Xu's wooden box. Tang Yue pointed at the small white bottles.
"Second Master, what are these?"
Lin Cuicui wanted to stop him, but Mr. Xu had already picked up a small white bottle, unscrewed it, took out two small white tablets from it and handed them to Lin Cuicui.
"Feed this to the third brother."
Lin Cuicui took it hesitantly, "Second Uncle, wait for me to go to the mountain to catch some..."
Master Xu waved his hand. "We have children at home. It's not safe in the mountains. Don't go. You have to leave some food at home."
We’ll talk about the rest later.”
Lin Cuicui's tears suddenly flowed down. How could she not want to work hard and earn work points, but, alas!
"Second Master, what does this medicine treat?"
"This is anti-inflammatory. Okay, let's see if it works in the next couple of days. I'm going back now."
Mr. Xu picked up the medicine box and walked out, holding Xu Zhiwei's chubby hand. Lin Cuicui and a few children followed behind to see him off.
Xu Zhiwei looked back at Tang Yue every few steps. He hadn't played enough with the skinny monkey yet, so why did he have to go home?
The three Tangbei brothers were very upset to see that Xu Zhiwei's eyes were almost glued to their sister, as if their sister had been snatched away from them.
Lin Cuicui took a lot of effort to feed the medicine to Tang Shengkai. While she was feeding the medicine, Tang Bei started to cook dinner in the outer room.
I made some millet porridge for Tang Yue, while they directly made very coarse cornmeal porridge.
Tang Yue still drank half a bowl and shared the rest with a few people.
Lin Cuicui fed Tang Shengkai some millet soup, which was apparently going much better this time, as Tang Shengkai began to swallow consciously. Lin Cuicui cried out in joy again.
After a long day of struggling, Tang Yue hadn't had a chance to practice, but she finally had a chance to do so at night. She lay on the kang and began to practice. After absorbing spiritual energy twice, her body felt much smoother today than on the first day. However, her health was still too poor. She worked hard all night, but only managed to repair one blockage.
Seeing that it was getting light, Tang Yue quickly closed her eyes and went to sleep.
Maybe because Tang Shengkai was finally able to swallow, Lin Cuicui felt a little more at ease and slept more deeply today. It was not until dawn that Tang Yue heard the sound of someone getting up in the east room.
The first thing Lin Cuicui did when she got up was to heat the two kangs in the east and west rooms. The west room was especially hot because the children were still asleep. The quilts at home were thin, so the warm kang helped the children sleep more soundly.
Tang Yue got up, put on her clothes, and climbed off the kang. There were many things that annoyed her, and getting on the kang was one of them. She was too short, so it was a bit difficult for her to get on the kang by herself.
When they arrived at the outer room, Lin Cuicui was surprised, "Yueyue? Why are you up so early?"
"Well, Mom, I woke up and went to see Dad."
Lin Cuicui looked at Tang Yue with relief, "Well, go ahead. Dad's fever wasn't that bad last night."
Tang Yue nodded and went directly to the east room. She pressed the ball of spiritual power that she had accumulated at night, which was slightly larger than an apricot kernel, into the center of Tang Shengkai's eyebrows. Feeling Tang Shengkai's breath, she raised the corners of her mouth.
This is good. It will get better slowly.
After breakfast, Lin Cuicui put on a fur coat and told Tang Dong, "Third brother, you stay home and look after your father and sister. I'll take your eldest and second brothers up the mountain to collect some firewood."
Tang Dong was a bit conflicted; he wanted to go, too. He'd asked someone to take all the firewood from home to town to sell, and he knew the little that was left would be almost gone in the next couple of days.
"Mom, I'll go with you."
"no."
"no."
Tang Bei and Tang Nan spoke in unison. After they finished speaking, they looked at Tang Dong and Tang Yue, "Dongzi, you are still young. Besides, your father and sister both need someone to take care of them.
What if the first uncle comes again and wants to bury Dad alive? Also, what if the second uncle comes to our house to steal things again? "
What Tang Bei said made a lot of sense, Tang Nan continued.
"Yes, Third Brother, you must take good care of the food at home. If Second Uncle takes it away, we will have nothing to eat."
Tang Yue wanted to go too, but looking at her short legs and the fact that she was out of breath after just a few steps, she silently shut her mouth. She decided to practice hard at home.
Tang Yue did not persuade Tang Dong to follow her up the mountain, because if something happened at home, someone would need to pass on the message.
"Yueyue, it's cold outside. Stay on the kang and don't go out."
When Lin Cuicui left, she did not forget to remind Tang Yue, and Tang Yue nodded seriously.
Tang Nan walked out while waving to Tang Yue, "Sister, if there are any rabbits on the mountain, I'll catch them and stew them for you."
Tang Yue's mouth twitched. Her second brother seemed to be obsessed with food.
Tang Bei also smiled, patted Tang Yue on the head and left.
Tang Yue helplessly touched her soft fur that she couldn't tie up yet. Is it really that nice to touch? Why does everyone touch it?
Tang Dong covered Tang Shengkai with the quilt and also covered Tang Yue's legs.
"Sister, you stay with Dad. I'm going to rub some corn."
Seeing Tang Dong go out, Tang Yue began to sit cross-legged with her eyes closed to practice. This time, she did not use spiritual power to nourish her body, but instead directed all the absorbed spiritual power to Tang Shengkai's injured knee.
An hour passed and Tang Yue saw that the flesh on Tang Shengkai's wound seemed a little redder than in the morning. Although she was not satisfied, this was the current progress.
Just as she was about to continue practicing to nourish her body, someone shouted outside the door.
"Is the third brother home? Someone is coming."
Tang Dong slid down from the kang in the west room and patted the corn husks on his body. "Here they come. Someone is here."
Tang Dong went out to open the door. Tang Yue stayed in the house and watched the captain lead two people in azure clothes into the yard.
The two men were clearly better dressed than the villagers. They were both smiling, and Tang Yue felt that this wasn't a bad thing.
"Grandpa Captain, my mother has gone up the mountain to collect firewood. Come into the house quickly."
When the team leader brought his men over, he was followed by several villagers who were watching the fun. The team leader asked a young man to go up the mountain to find Lin Cuicui, and then led the two into the house.
When Tang Dong arrived at the outer room, he was a little confused. His father was lying unconscious in the east room, and he had just been rubbing corn in the west room and it was quite a mess.
"Captain Grandpa..."
"Well, go to your dad's room. These two are from the county and are here to visit your dad."
Tang Dong was a little surprised, but didn't say anything and led his people into the house.
Tang Yue stood on the kang and called out, "Grandpa Xu."
When she wanted to get off the kang later, the team leader pushed her into the kang and said, "No need to get off. Just stay here."
On the way here, the captain had already told the two comrades what had happened in Tang Yue's home over the past two days. Looking at Tang Shengkai lying unconscious on the kang, the two comrades sighed, "This is a hero."
Tang Yue narrowed her eyes slightly. "Hero?" What does that mean? This word is not commonly used.
