Chapter 490 Three People Meet

The man had his back to her, holding a gun and looking around vigilantly, his Adam's apple rolling with nervousness.

Tang Yue tiptoed, silently approaching. With a flash of cold light, the dagger slashed across the man's throat with pinpoint accuracy. Warm blood gushed out, drawing a dark red arc in the darkness. The soldier collapsed to the ground before even uttering a groan.

After dispatching the first target, Tang Yue didn't hesitate. Her gaze swept over the three soldiers conferring in the center of the warehouse, and she flashed, floating behind one of them like a ghost.

Before the man could react, her arm had already clamped around his neck like an iron clamp, and the dagger had pierced his heart.

The other two heard the noise and were about to turn around when Tang Yue's dagger flew out of her hand and stabbed into their solar plexus. The three of them fell down almost at the same time with a dull sound.

This sudden change alarmed the soldiers at the other end of the warehouse. "Enemy attack! Enemy attack!" A cry broke the brief silence.

A dozen soldiers, guns raised, fired wildly at the spot where their comrade had just fallen. Bullets rained down on shelves and walls, sending up showers of sparks and debris.

Tang Yue, however, seemed to be non-existent, nimbly weaving through the hail of bullets. She deftly circled behind a soldier, covered his mouth with her hand, and swiftly slashed his abdomen with her dagger.

The soldier struggled in agony, his intestines spilling out of the wound. Tang Yue took advantage of the situation and pushed him forward, knocking him into his companion. They fell to the ground, and before they could get up, Tang Yue had already stepped forward, raised her knife, and ended their lives.

The warehouse was filled with a strong smell of blood and gunpowder, and the soldiers fell into extreme panic. They fired indiscriminately, shouting and cursing at each other, and the whole place was in chaos.

In the chaos, Tang Yue was reaping lives like the Grim Reaper. Every swing of her dagger was accompanied by a muffled groan and a fallen corpse.

The warehouse was thick with the pungent smell of blood, mingled with the choking smoke of gunpowder. Shelves were tilted and swayed by the impact of bullets. The mysterious officer leaned against a cold metal box, his knuckles white from gripping his service pistol, and sweat trickled down his angular face.

His eyes scanned the surroundings like a hawk, his ears catching every slightest sound, and from time to time he uttered a low cry from his throat: "Come out! Stop hiding!"

As the soldiers around him fell one after another, he became increasingly uneasy. Although he could not see the enemy, he could clearly feel the deadly threat that was following him like a shadow, as if a pair of eyes were closely watching his every move.

His breathing became more and more rapid, and every blink seemed like a game of chess with death.

Suddenly, the shelf behind him shook slightly. The mysterious officer turned abruptly, and the muzzle of his gun spurted out flames, and the bullet pierced the shelf mercilessly.

Amidst the flying wood chips, he moved forward cautiously, observing the movements around him intently, trying to find any trace of the enemy from any clues.

"I know you're here!" His voice was trembling undisguised, yet he forced himself to remain calm. "Come out! Let's have a fair fight!"

Just as he finished speaking, a dark shadow passed over him like a ghost. He felt a slight breeze, and the mysterious officer's pupils suddenly shrank. He instinctively raised his gun, but found that his wrist was firmly grasped by a cold little hand.

Before he could react, the dagger in Tang Yue's hand was already against his throat.

"You..." The mysterious officer's eyes widened, his face filled with fear and unwillingness. He wanted to struggle, wanted to shout, but Tang Yue's other hand had already pressed his mute point.

Tang Yue's lips curled into a cold smile, her eyes filled with contempt and murderous intent. With a flick of her wrist, the sharp dagger slashed through the mysterious officer's throat.

Warm blood gushed out, splattering the nearby shelves like a strange painting. The mysterious commander's body collapsed, the light in his eyes gradually fading. He was unable to see the enemy's appearance clearly until his death.

Tang Yue let go of the mysterious officer's body, letting it fall to the ground. She wiped the blood off her dagger, glanced at the bodies scattered across the warehouse, and then turned and disappeared into the darkness.

The waves, carrying a salty wind, rushed towards the reefs, and the fire from Base No. 5 in the distance dyed half the sky dark red.

Fei Shuwen stumbled along the beach, his blood-soaked shirt stuck to his back, the rag wrapped around his right arm oozed black and red pus and blood, his exposed calves were covered with blisters from burns, and every step he took felt like he was stepping on a red-hot iron.

But he still tightly grasped the crumpled document in his arms, with a stubborn light flashing in his cloudy eyes - he must see Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai alive.

Even under extremely difficult circumstances, Fei Shuwen hadn't forgotten to retrieve the submarine engineering documents he'd hidden. Fortunately, he'd hidden them under a cabinet. Although the cabinet had been shattered by the aftermath of the explosion, the documents hadn't been affected by the heat wave.

On the sea, Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai battled the surging waves. Icy water rushed into their nostrils, their arms ached with every stroke, and salty spray slapped their faces.

They had been swimming in the sea for a long time and were now somewhat exhausted. Chang Yin raised his head and looked towards the shore, when he suddenly caught a glimpse of the staggering figure on the beach.

"Old Tang! Look!" Chang Yin shouted, his voice cut off by the sound of the waves. Tang Shengkai looked in the direction he pointed, his heart suddenly clenched - the figure stumbling forward was none other than Fei Shuwen!

The two men immediately ignored their fatigue and swam towards the shore with all their strength. A huge wave hit, pushing Tang Shengkai into the water. He struggled to surface, coughing repeatedly from the choking, but still gritting his teeth and waving his arms.

Chang Yin grabbed his arm and pushed him forward, and the two of them took advantage of the waves and finally approached the shallows.

They were soaking wet and scrambled ashore in a panic. The sand and seawater mixed under their feet made it difficult to stand. "Old Fei?" Tang Shengkai was the first to recognize him, his voice filled with anxiety.

Chang Yin's pupils suddenly contracted, and she saw that Fei Shuwen's whole face was swollen and deformed, his left eye was so bruised that he could hardly open it, and there was a dried blood scab at the corner of his mouth. His right leg was obviously powerless when he walked, and every stumble worried the two of them.

When Fei Shuwen heard the shout, his once frail steps suddenly gained strength. He tried to raise his hand to greet her, but the pain from the wound made him groan.

"Old... Chang..." He managed a hoarse voice, then turned his head with great effort to look around, still wary of being discovered. But after he finished these movements, his knees gave way, and he fell to the sand.

Chang Yin and Tang Shengkai rushed over almost at the same time. Chang Yin held Fei Shuwen's back firmly, and felt a burning sensation on his touch. Only then did he realize that the skin on the back of his neck had been singed black.

Tang Shengkai glanced around vigilantly, ripping off the hem of his shirt and quickly wrapping it around Fei Shuwen's bleeding arm. "Old Fei, hold on! We're here!"

"Main control center...documents..." Fei Shuwen tremblingly stuffed the documents in his arms into Chang Yin's hands, then he completely relaxed and collapsed in his companion's arms.

The moment Chang Yin supported Fei Shuwen and unfolded the document, his pupils suddenly shrank - the four words "undersea engineering" glowed a strange blue in the firelight.

"Never mind that!" Tang Shengkai gasped as he tore open Fei Shuwen's charred cuffs. Fei Shuwen's forearms were covered in hideous whip marks, a crisscross of old and new wounds, clearly from a brutal interrogation.

He turned to Chang Yin and said, "We need to find a place to treat the wound. He has a fever!"

Chang Yin nodded and carefully carried Fei Shuwen on his back. The sea breeze blew up the corners of their clothes, and the chaotic sounds from the distant base could still be heard faintly. Before Fei Shuwen fell unconscious, he vaguely heard Chang Yin's low voice ringing in his ears: "Don't worry, we are here."

These simple words were like a reassurance, allowing him to finally let go of his heart that had been hanging for so long.
