As Shi Xi was struggling with this, she discovered that the call had been disconnected by the other party.

Gan Sui was afraid that he would hear something he shouldn't have.

"You don't want anything to happen to that person, do you?" he threatened, his eyes filled with malice.
Gan Sui had never stayed in a master's household before, so he didn't really know what kind of person the other party was.
However, he is generally perceived as gentle and polite, and such people are easily intimidated; a few scare words are all it takes to achieve one's goal.
"How about this, I'll keep it a secret for you... and you help me become the head of the family."
Gan Sui suddenly smiled when he heard him say that.

Others rushed over upon hearing the noise.
Two people quickly helped him up. The man took out his phone, intending to expose the matter and complain to the head of the family, but was stopped by the people beside him.
"News has come from over there that the current head of the family is... Gan Sui."
Gan Sui looked at the pale-faced man and found it amusing... Without wasting any more time, he turned and left.

When the call came again, it was a video call.

By this time, Shi Xi had finished showering, changed into her pajamas, and was about to go to sleep.

Shi Xi sat on the edge of the bed. On the phone screen, Gan Sui's gaze lingered on Shi Xi's slightly open collar for two seconds before he looked up at her.

“An elder we have absolutely no connection with,” Gan Sui said gently.
Shi Xi didn't care who the other person was, she just felt that the other person's words were too rude, and it felt like the next sentence was going to be a threat.
Shi Xi frowned inwardly.
"Don't be too nice-tempered," Shi Xi said to Gan Sui. "You'll easily get bullied."
Shi Xi could picture Gan Sui crying after being scolded, and he was probably here seeking comfort.
Gan Sui remained silent for a while on the other end of the phone.
Noticing the light was on downstairs, Shi Xi stood up and walked towards the balcony. "Are you done with your work?"
"Just finished," Gan Sui said.
"I'll go back in a couple of days."
"Going back to your home?" Shi Xi asked, opening the glass door.
"No," Gan Sui shook his head, "I'll go back to find you."
"Have you... been busy these past few days?"
"Why aren't you answering me?"
Gan Sui's tone made it sound as if Shi Xi had made new friends and was therefore neglecting his old friend.
Shi Xi touched the tip of her nose somewhat awkwardly. "I'm a little busy."
Fortunately, Gan Sui did not ask what he was busy with, and only told him to get some rest before ending the video call.
