Chapter Ninety-Eight: The Lively Wedding (Part 2)
Zhou Ran was still asleep and hadn't woken up. The person reached out towards Zhou Ran.
It looked like they were about to strangle someone.
A figure suddenly rushed out, grabbed the man's wrist, and forced him to the ground, his face pressed firmly against the ground.
"Misunderstanding, misunderstanding! I just wanted to wake him up, I didn't mean to do anything!"
Fu Ya shouted, she just wanted to talk to Zhou Ran, she didn't mean to do anything to him.
The man behind him asked.
"Who are you?"
“I am Fu Ya, Xia Chenggan’s friend. I just wanted to chat with him and wake him up. I didn’t mean to do anything, really.”
This was the first time Fu Ya had been treated so roughly.
My experience living abroad tells me that in situations like this, you should quickly explain away the misunderstanding, otherwise you might be wrongly accused and killed.
The man released his hand, and Fu Ya could see clearly that it was a fierce-looking, tattooed, bald man.
The Xia family doesn't have bodyguards like that, does they?
"Who are you? What are you trying to do by sneaking in here?"
Fu Ya realized she had misunderstood; this person was probably not a bodyguard, but rather a desperate infiltrator.
Zhou Ran was woken up by the noise.
He sat up, his morning grumpiness palpable.
"It's so noisy, so noisy in the morning, so noisy at noon, can't a person get any sleep?"
"All you do is sleep; you wouldn't even know you're being killed."
Qiu Dun retorted to Zhou Ran in an annoyed tone.
This kid has been given a weak body, and his reactions are weak too.
He didn't wake up when this woman came in; he was sleeping like a log.
Zhou Ran blinked and tilted her head, as if trying to identify Qiu Dun.
"Ahem, don't you recognize me?"
Qiu Dun absolutely refused to admit that he was charmed by her cuteness.
This kid's body is so small now. When he tilts his head, he looks like the kitten he's raising.
So cute, I want to pinch it!
"You disturbed my sleep! Die!"
A cushion slammed into Qiu Dun's face, interrupting his dazed, dreamlike state.
"Hey, you ungrateful bastard! How dare you hit me with a pillow!"
Qiu Dun, angered, rushed forward and forced the person back onto the sofa.
Fu Ya looked at the two people wrestling with a blank expression.
Neither of them used their fists; they just held them up to slap each other.
This gesture clearly indicates that they know each other and have a good relationship.
Suddenly, footsteps could be heard outside.
Qiu Dun's expression changed. He deftly dropped the pillow, flipped over and jumped off the sofa, hiding behind it.
Zhou Ran was suddenly thrown to the ground by the force, clutching her sore bottom and groaning.
He met Fu Ya's watchful gaze.
"What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen someone wrestle before?"
"I've never seen anyone fall like that before. Are you alright?"
Fu Ya still asked with concern.
Although she was uncomfortable, she still maintained her composure.
"Who are you? What are you doing in the lounge? Are you lost?"
"I'm Fu Ya! I'd like to talk to you."
This was the first time Fu Ya had met Zhou Ran, whom others had mentioned.
It seems to be different from what those people said.
Zhou Ran seems to be an interesting person.
"Oh, what are you talking about?"
Do you really like Xia Chenggan?
Fu Ya took a deep breath and asked.
This is what she most wants to know. If the lovers are destined to be together, she will choose to bless them.
Just as Zhou Ran was about to speak, the door to the lounge opened.
A young man helped a woman walk in.
He paused for a moment when he saw the two people sitting on the ground talking.
"Excuse me, I went to the wrong place."
The boy quickly apologized and helped the woman leave.
"Catch them."
When Fu Ya heard Zhou Ran speak, she thought he was talking to her, and instinctively got up to try to stop the boy and the woman.
But she discovered that someone was faster than her.
Those words weren't meant for her.
A tall, slender woman dressed smartly appeared outside the door.
The boy and the woman were pushed through the door, and the door was closed.
Without the boy's help, the woman fell to the ground and remained unresponsive.
Zhou Ran looked at Fu Ya.
"Is that all you wanted to ask? What if I like you? What if I don't?"
"Is it alright to talk about this now?"
Fu Ya looked at the boy and the woman; something was clearly not right.
“Answer me, ignore them.”
Fu Ya only answered seriously after hearing his words.
“If you like each other, I wish you well. If you don’t like each other, I still have the right to pursue Xia Chenggan.”
Even if I am Mrs. Xia?
"Yes, even if you are Mrs. Xia!"
Fu Ya's expression was like that of a fighter, exuding a fearless and reckless spirit.
"Oh, then keep trying. We're not being sincere."
"ah?"
Do you have any other questions?
Zhou Ran pressed for an answer.
"It's gone!"
Fu Ya answered instinctively.
"Then go. You've got the answer you wanted. Goodbye."
Fu Ya stood up, looking back repeatedly with some hesitation.
"It's that simple. You don't mind? Someone is eyeing Xia Chenggan."
"I don't even like him, so why should I care so much? I have the right to like him and the resources he brings."
If you're capable, you can try to take it; this position belongs to the most capable.
Zhou Ran spoke so frankly that Fu Ya didn't even have a chance to say the words she had prepared.
Zhou Ran shouldn't be accused of being a mistress or destroying someone's family.
Then should we have a big fight with her?
Love money, love power—can you be this honest?
"Does Xia Chenggan know about this?"
"Oh, I see. Big sister, you ask so many questions. Let me have someone give you a ride."
Zhou Ran called out loudly, "Qiu Jing, see Miss Fu Ya out."
Qiu Jing, who was waiting outside, walked in, stood in front of Fu Ya, and bowed, gesturing for her to enter.
"Miss Fu Ya, this way please."
Fu Ya nodded, glanced at Zhou Ran, and obediently left.
Fu Ya left, and Qiu Jing closed the door and continued to stand guard at the entrance.
Zhou Ran sat back on the sofa and looked at the boy.
"Who are you? What do you want? Who is she?"
The boy sat on the ground. "This is my sister. We came to the wedding. She drank a couple too much and passed out. I wanted to find the lounge so she could sleep, but I got lost."
The boy smiled shyly, looking embarrassed.
"You know I have a really amazing skill?"
"What?"
The boy was confused; why did Zhou Ran suddenly say something like that?
"Able to tell if a person is lying."
The boy's face turned very ugly when he heard Zhou Ran say that.
"Stop pretending. That woman isn't your sister, and she's not drunk either."
How much ** did you use? The smell is so strong I can smell it all over here.”
The boy's face darkened further. He seemed inexperienced; were there really that many?
The bald man leaned back on the sofa, suppressing a smile.
Zhou Ran is trying to fool people again.
"Everything I said is true. If you don't believe me, go and check it out."
The boy hurriedly took a few steps forward to explain that he had not lied.
"Don't go any further. If you do, you'll lose your legs. You think you can hurt me? You're too green."
When the boy was exposed, his expression turned ferocious, and he stopped acting.
"You think the people outside can get there in time to rescue you?!"
The boy rushed towards Zhou Ran, gripping a fruit knife tightly in his hand.
It must have been stolen from the restaurant.
Xia Chenggan brought a large number of people to conduct security checks this time, because he was worried that someone might bring in weapons, so the checks were extra strict.
Before the boy could reach Zhou Ran, Qiu Dun jumped out and kicked him in the knee.
The boy stumbled and fell to the ground.
Qiu Dun stepped on his hand, causing the knife to fall to the ground and be kicked away.
Qiu Dun stepped on the boy's back.
The vast difference in strength made the boy struggle desperately like a tortoise, but he couldn't get up.
He swung his arms, trying to attack his leg, but couldn't reach it at all.
"Let me go! If you're so tough, let's fight one-on-one."
"This was a one-on-one fight, and you didn't dodge a single move."
Zhou Ran picked up the knife and placed it on the coffee table.
"Who sent you? What's your purpose?"
"I won't tell you! I won't betray the boss."
"Turns out he's an idiot. Leave him to me, I'm sure I can get anything out of him."
Qiu Dun can handle his own facial expressions.
"If you kill him again, it will cause more trouble. Hand him over to Xia Chenggan. Don't bother with such a small fry."
Judging from the boy's reaction, he had been brainwashed or misled into being used as a pawn to confuse the public.
This kind of person doesn't know much, and interrogating them is a lot of work.
Let Xia Chenggan worry about it.
"Alright!"
Qiu Dun pulled the man up, threw him outside the door, and gave him a word of advice.
"Zhou Ran said to leave the person to Xia Chenggan."
"knew."
Qiu Jing left with her people.
A short while later, someone came and took the woman who had been drugged away from the ground.
"Your wedding was quite lively!"
Qiu Dun slumped on the sofa and looked at Zhou Ran.
"I have to admit, your face is really deceptive. Did you use your face to win over your husband?"
Zhou Ran shook her head. "No, it's because of my interesting soul."
Qiu Dun couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Hahaha, an interesting soul, hahaha, you have an interesting soul? Don't you have any awareness of being a devil?"
Zhou Ran looked at her with an expression that said, "You don't understand."
"You don't understand the tastes of rich people; they like people like me."
"Your husband has really unusual tastes, but..."
Qiu Dun looked at Zhou Ran, scrutinizing her from head to toe.
"No wonder you were a bachelor in your past life. So many women threw themselves at you, but you didn't like any of them. Do you like men?"
Zhou Ran: "..."
"Did I guess I was right? Maybe we should go somewhere else. How come you got married so quickly, and it's a man?"
"I hit the nail on the head, now you have nothing to say!"
"You like men, no wonder. Qingzhu was with you for so many years and died for you in the end, but you still didn't agree to marry someone else."
"Shut up!"
Zhou Ran glared at him. As his childhood friend, this guy knew exactly where to poke him for the best results.
Qiu Dun made a zipper gesture to indicate that he would not say anything more.
Seeing Zhou Ran lie back down on the sofa, she lay down next to him on the sofa as well.
Thankfully, the sofa was big enough, and Zhou Ran was petite enough.
Otherwise, there really wouldn't be enough room for two men to lie down.
"How did you die and end up here?"
"I don't know. My last memory is of drinking with Lao San and the others. When I woke up, I was being bullied in this body."
"Who dares to bully you? I'll beat them up for you."
Upon hearing that his brother had been bullied, Qiu Dun immediately flew into a rage.
Zhou Ran patted his arm and told him to lie down.
"It's okay, I've taken care of it. You know what I'm capable of."
"Yes, I know your abilities, and I also know your stubborn temper; you always bear everything on your own."
Qiu Dun suddenly said something.
"No, you like men. You didn't like me before, did you?" Author's Note: Thank you to my mentor 9492239 for your support! For more exciting content, please leave a message for this book on Liancheng Reading.
