The student union president walked onto the stage, holding a plastic coin, while the game geeks in the audience frantically waved their signs. Xiaodou crouched on the school hunk's shoulder, Snowball having secretly collected seven strands of fuzz from the tip of his tail. Each strand was tucked into Snowball's "Mysophobic Notebook," labeled "Hair-Shedding Monster Energy Sample No. 7."
"Squeak!" Xiaodou nibbled the game coins in the school hunk's pocket. The moment the metallic taste exploded on the tip of his tongue, the subspace suddenly vibrated - the game coins turned into real gold and silver, slipped through the chairman's fingers, and piled up into a small mountain on the auction table.
"It's the Rat Fairy!" someone shouted, and the whole place went haywire. Gaming geeks pounced on the gold ingots, cosplay clubs grabbed strings of copper coins as props, and even the cleaning lady snatched a few silver coins with her mop handle, running off and shouting, "Find an apartment in the school district for my grandson!"
Xiaodou was disoriented by the crowd and fell into the ancient books section of the library. Amidst the dust, he spotted a yellowed volume of "Strange Tales of the Ancient Rat Tribe," which had automatically opened. A library card was tucked between the pages. The man in the photo wore glasses and had a teardrop mole in the corner of his left eye—it was none other than the veterinarian Lin Shen, who was featured in the school idol's wallpaper.
The library card's validity period stopped at "3000th year of the Demon Realm calendar." The note column, inscribed in the secret fire of the fox clan, read: "Personally from Bai Yan, clues to the concept mouse embryo are hidden between the pages." As Xiaodou's paw touched the words, a fragment of Mingshu's sword tassel from the Cultivation of Immortals chapter fell out of the book, stained with remnants of the energy chip from the Interstellar chapter.
"So Lin Shen really has been to the demon world..." Xiaodou gnawed at the chip, and the red light of the mechanical cat suddenly enveloped the entire library. "A cross-world energy resonance has been detected. Should we activate the 'Three Souls Memory Fragment'?"
"Xiaodou!" The school hunk pushed open the bookshelf, his suit jacket wrinkled. "The student union said you are the 'source of the financial crisis' and they want to send you to..." He suddenly stopped, his eyes falling on the ancient book he had opened - the Sky-Swallowing Rat in the illustration of the book actually had the same gear runes as Xiaodou's current Lucky Rat form.
Just then, Xiaodou's tail tip dropped another tentacle coin from the Apocalypse arc. The sky-swallowing pattern on the coin perfectly matched the pattern in the ancient book. Suddenly, the school hunk's phone rang. The caller ID read "Cousin Lin Shen." When the call was connected, the sound of gears turning from the Steampunk arc was heard.
- The blank page of the ancient book suddenly seeped out blood words: "The three souls have been scattered, only sweetness can be gathered together." The handwriting is the same as the suicide note of Bai Yan's mother in the Demon Realm chapter;
Snowball suddenly jumped into the library and pressed Xiaodou's tail with his claws. A tentacle cookie from the Cthulhu arc fell out of his collar. The chocolate words on the cookie changed to: "Lin Shen is the key, but also the trap."
- The school hunk trembled as he turned the last page of the ancient book. Inside was a yellowed photo - a young Lin Shen holding a treasure-hunting mouse doll, with the candy battleship from the Star Wars arc in the background.
