Tears and Laughter: Farewell to the End of the World
The roots of the sweet spirit grass extended beneath the ruins, unexpectedly penetrating the subspace barrier. Xiaodou held the unconscious Rat King Ah Shen in his arms, watching as the Secret Keeper Cat clawed away at the roots, revealing the Interstellar AI Matchmaker Base Station hidden deep within. Cub Nannan's mother lay curled up inside the base station, the red light on her bracelet about to go out.
"Mom!" Nannan stumbled into the woman's arms. The AI bracelet finally completed the pairing and projected a holographic image of Lin Shen:
"Concept Rat energy fluctuations detected. Congratulations on finding your destined guardian. Remember, the sweet energy of all worlds is interconnected—just like the first pack of instant noodles you stocked up on and the first piece of osmanthus cake he nibbled on."
The woman smiled weakly and took out the sword tassel from Mingshu in the Immortal Cultivation Chapter from her pocket: "A Shen, so you really are..."
Before he could finish his words, the Rat King's mechanical patterns suddenly lit up, overlapping with Lin Shen's holographic image. Xiaodou then saw clearly that the star-shaped scar behind Ah Shen's ear was a mirror image of the teardrop mole at the corner of Lin Shen's left eye in the modern story—they were avatars of the same guardian, in different worlds.
"Xiaodou," Ah Shen used his tail to wrap around Nannan's hand. There was a rotating gear rune on her palm. "I'm looking for you in every world..."
The iron box in the subspace closed automatically, and the voice of the secret-keeper cat came from inside: "Remember to come to the Cthulhu world to save me. Your space incubator can hold the stomach of the ancient god!" Before the words fell, the iron box disappeared in the starlight.
Three days later, the survivors of the base packed their bags and prepared to depart for the magical land of the Western Fantasy universe (a portal created by the elemental elves using a rainbow bridge). The potato elves, clutching their sunflowers, refused to leave, ultimately deciding to stay and guard the ruins. They wrote on the wall with vines: "Mouse Farm is always open to lost travelers."
"This is for you." Nannan handed Xiaodou an ugly-looking sock doll with a milk tea cup sticker from the school chapter stuffed inside. "Mom said that next time we meet, you'll be able to see the real Brother Lin Shen."
Xiaodou's eyes were filled with tears. Hybrid seeds from the 1960s fell out of his space. He buried the seeds under the sweet spirit grass and said, "When spring comes, this will become a strawberry field, right?"
The mechanical cat suddenly issued a warning sound:
"Special Bond Value (Family) x 500 has been received, unlocking the skill 'Cross-Life Form Projection'!"
Xiaodou's space rat form suddenly faded, and behind it appeared the shadows of seven other forms: Panda Rat, Treasure Hunting Rat, and Sky-Swallowing Rat. Ah Shen smiled and nudged his nose with the bandage, "So you already collected all seven Sweet Energy Beads?"
"What energy beads?"
"Nothing." Ah Shen looked towards the magical continent on the other side of the portal. The sky there was filled with rainbow clouds from the game. "I just feel that our story has just begun."
