Chapter 284 The Fall of the Ruthless

The cub, chewed into a mangled mess, stood up shakily, its head fuzzy, still trying to process what had happened.

He wasn't this stupid before.

The baby will become smarter when he grows up.

But it seems that I, in this world, am also unable to grow up.

The cub wanted to be angry but didn't know what to be angry about, so it could only protest, and keep protesting.

The bodyguards outside the door exchanged glances and guessed, "The little one is very happy today; he's been calling out the whole time."

The cub chirped as its father licked away its tears.

Bullshit! He's protesting!

But aside from making a couple of cries, the cubs didn't even bother to struggle anymore.

The boy feels like he's about to turn into a dried-up little salted fish. Occasionally, his dad will pick him up and turn him over, but usually he just lies flat and doesn't even know how to turn over.

The cubs also experienced the feeling of giving up and lying down after working so hard to soothe the cubs.

It's exhausting to comfort one dad, let alone the fact that the kid has to comfort several "dads" lately.

The exhausted little one silently released energy in his dream, causing the zombie lads outside the city to stand at attention all night.

They kept hearing a voice calling to them, but it was just a call, like someone whistling and telling them to assemble. When they all arrived, walking with zombie-like steps, sometimes hurried, sometimes slow, they found that the voice was still calling for them to assemble.

They gathered together for one night.

Actually, the cubs were releasing energy instinctively to prevent themselves from exploding because they had absorbed too much energy.

Even if he has energy, he doesn't know how to control it.

This resulted in a zombie siege.

Everyone was on high alert last night, except for the cub who slept the best, who knew nothing.

When the boy heard his father's footsteps as he returned from his work, and then heard his father calling him a little while later, he tried to turn over and stick his bottom out to indicate that he was awake.

As a result, Long Qian came over, but instead of patting him as usual and saying, "Baby, why are you still in bed?", he stood by the bed in confusion, and a low-pressure atmosphere was about to spread throughout the room.

"Baby?"

Long Qian's tone was already very low, and he seemed to be on the verge of collapse and anger.

The baby was still struggling with the bed, tightly wrapped in a warm blanket, unable to get up at all, and could only wiggle his bottom to greet his father.

The next second, Long Qian yanked off the blanket, and the cub inside felt itself being lifted into the air by a tremendous force.

The cub opened its eyes and saw in mid-air that its father had become even bigger than before.

It wasn't until Long Qian blankly reached out to catch the cub that he realized it wasn't that Long Qian had grown bigger, but that the cub had shrunk.

It's a tiny elf that can be held in two hands.

The cubs have changed in appearance and have adapted well to this state, but Long Qian is not like that.

Long Qian held the tiny baby in his hands, seemingly unable to understand why his child, whom he had raised with such care, had turned out like this.

An overwhelming sense of heartache welled up within me.

When a father sees changes in his child, his first reaction is not to find it interesting or cute; he is simply worried that his child may be suffering in places he cannot see, whether he is feeling unwell, or whether he is afraid.

The cub was both shocked and panicked when it saw its father's tears.

In his memory, although his father was very clingy, he rarely cried. And when the child saw his father cry, it was like seeing his all-powerful hero crying.

This is what is meant by the brave being weak and the ruthless being depraved.

The cubs are Long Qian's only weakness that he can exploit.

"Who is hurting you, baby? Who is making you sad?"

Long Qian asked the cubs questions, and also questioned his own incompetence.

The cub stretched out its short hand, trying to comfort its father, but Long Qian was too flustered to notice.

He clutched the cub tightly to his chest and rushed to the doctor like a madman.

When the tiny cub landed with a soft thud in front of the doctor, it drew a gasp of surprise from the doctor:

"Oh my, so cute!"

But the next second, when faced with a new parent who felt like the sky was falling just because their child had a minor illness, the doctor put on a stern face again.

Long Qian grabbed her shoulders: "What's wrong with my baby? Does he have some terminal illness? Is it curable? Can I give my life for his?"

The doctor didn't answer, but instead took out his phone to record Long Qian's moment and forwarded it to others.

This is the first time I've ever seen the boss cry. Even if he died, it would have been worth it.

Unfortunately, Long Qian still needs her treatment, so there's no way to take care of her.

Then the doctor pinched the little guy's cheek, making him giggle, and explained to Long Qian:

"The cub seems to be in good spirits, so there shouldn't be any problems. The reason it suddenly shrank is the same as the reason it grew bigger before. It grew bigger because it absorbed more energy, and it shrank because it had less energy."

"It's probably because you ate too much before, so your body needs some rest. Parents, don't worry too much. You can observe it first, and come to me if there are any problems."

Long Qian disagreed with the doctor's arrangement. Long Qian was a rather autocratic person, so the doctor and the twins who had previously fed the cubs random blood were all taken to the next room by Long Qian and put on standby at any time.

Why wouldn't they do it?

Looking up, you can see a toddler wrapped in a small handkerchief sitting by the window, watching his father sew clothes for him.

Because the cub is always moving around, the small handkerchief sometimes can't cover him properly, and the cub will be exposed for a moment. So Long Qian's original intention was to wrap the cub in a small roll to temporarily cover him up.

However, Long Qian was simply too clumsy with his hands. After sewing for a long time, the stitches were crooked and messy, like centipedes crawling on the fabric. The boy couldn't even tell what kind of clothes his father had sewn for him.

So Long Qian gave up, first loosened the baby roll standing next to him, revealing the fluffy, white baby core inside, and then cut a hole in the middle of the handkerchief so that the baby's head could pass through.

Then the baby was like he had received a giant bib.

It can cover his body.

But the handkerchief was also pink, so when the cub moved, it looked like a trumpet flower.

What was once a table that he could climb up and play on by himself has now become his playground. He sometimes shoves his head into layers of clothes, and sometimes tries to climb over his father's arm. He feels like he has walked 108,000 steps today, but he is still making a fuss right under his father's nose.

The child lost patience, clung to his father's arm, and wanted his father to be his mode of transportation.

But Dad and the other uncles were busy embroidering clothes for the child. Several mercenaries who had risked their lives were already struggling with the tiny needles.

So the main system gave him a hamster car. The mutated hamster was just the right size to be a ride for the cub.

The cubs loved it, and even the hamsters followed suit, showing off their power. These little animals, who would normally hide from superhumans, wouldn't say a word to Long Qian even if they stole dried fruit right under his nose.
