Chapter 309 The Favoritism

The boy directed them to rummage through the junk, keeping the small pieces of furniture that others didn't want but were still usable, and the little jewels that had been overlooked in the nooks and crannies, so they could exchange or pawn them.

However, as they rummaged through the trash, the once clean little faces became dusty again.

Even the cub's pure white feathers were stained with a layer of gray.

The little ones were overjoyed to find a small piece of jade in the garbage dump, and on their way home, they were even given some dried buns by kind families in the neighborhood.

The child was so happy that he kept jumping on others, using all sorts of cute and affectionate tactics to express his gratitude.

As a result, they were so cute that I couldn't resist taking out a little bit of meat to feed them.

However, the little bit of meat given to the cub was not eaten immediately. Instead, it was placed in front of Zhou Qiuqiu, with a large piece given to him and two small pieces given to the siblings.

The child didn't even keep any for himself.

Zhou Qiuqiu patted his head, wanting to give her own flesh to the cub, but the cub shook his head.

He's so healthy and not sick at all. Zhou Qiuqiu should eat more meat so she can get better quickly.

Zhou Qiuqiu refused to eat, so the cub forced food into his mouth.

"Chirp chirp chirp!!"

Children are not allowed to be picky eaters!

Zhou Qiuqiu almost choked to death on the cub.

The little one tiptoed, worried that Zhou Qiujiu wasn't getting enough to eat, and fed him bite by bite. Zhou Qiujiu couldn't even refuse, let alone say that he was full.

The cubs still inherited their fathers' consistent parenting style; there's a kind of hunger that only the cubs can feel.

After finishing her meal, Zhou Qiuqiu struggled to stand up by leaning against the wall.

There was no other way; he had eaten too much and was afraid he wouldn't digest his food if he didn't stand up to aid digestion.

But the cub felt that it was his achievement.

See? He can already stand after eating a little more, and he'll definitely be walking after eating a little more. Before long, he'll surely create a medical miracle!

The doctor is a miracle worker.

The cub happily chirped and pecked at Zhou Qiuqiu's heel, but unfortunately, a broken bone is a broken bone. Zhou Qiuqiu almost fell to the ground, but the cub managed to lift her up by flapping its wings and grabbing her by the back of her collar.

Okay, actually, Zhou Qiujiu caught herself.

However, Zhou Qiujiu seems to enjoy doting on the cubs, and he will cooperate with whatever the cubs want to do.

As long as the cub stays by his side, he can continue to be this harmless Zhou Qiuqiu.

Seeing that Zhou Qiuqiu was alright, the cub turned around and took the herbs that the system had told him to pick up by the roadside. It crushed them little by little with its beak and spread them on Zhou Qiuqiu's legs.

Watching her son busily taking care of the three little ones, Zhou Qiuqiu couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips into a smile.

This is the first time a bird has ever been so worried about him.

But seeing that the cub had chewed the herbs into a mess, and that after applying the medicine for a long time, it hadn't stuck to his leg but had all gone into the cub's mouth, making the cub so bitter that it couldn't even open its eyes, Zhou Qiuqiu had no choice but to lend a hand.

Zhou Qiujiu had Zai supervise the work from the side.

It seems that the cubs are best at watching others work.

The little one sat obediently beside Zhou Qiuqiu, watching her apply the medicine. Occasionally, the little one would drift off and turn to preen its own tail feathers. But as it turned, the little one slowly left the edge of the table and fell off.

Zhou Qiuqiu reacted quickly and caught the cub.

Zai thought it was a mistake, but the next second, he saw a small bug on Ruoliufeng's hair. He rushed over to chase it away, but was almost startled by the caterpillar standing up.

He turned and flew to Zhou Qiujiu's head, his claws digging tightly into Zhou Qiujiu's hair to embolden himself, and let out a divine beast roar:

"Chirp!!!"

Zhou Qiuqiu seemed completely unfazed by the beast's roar, and pulled the cub back to her chest.

The boy then remembered that he was supervising the work and finally quieted down.

Ruo Liufeng, because he had a caterpillar on his head, was hit by Ruo Piaoxue. Ruo Liufeng ran over to ask Zai for justice, but he didn't pay attention to his footing and almost kicked Zhou Qiujiu's wound.

Zhou Qiuqiu really wanted to cover her face.

He's fine taking care of one child.

But if one person can take on three, even a great immortal would be afraid.

Whoever takes care of the kids will break down.

These two silly kids, plus a fool, still thought about taking care of each other, but in the end, the one who made the biggest sacrifice and kept the credit hidden was always Zhou Qiujiu.

Despite his young age, he already has the demeanor of a caring patriarch.

The cub tried to make a nest of hair on Zhou Qiuqiu's head, but after digging around, it pulled out a single white hair!

The cub was almost crying in fear: "Human, don't get old!"

The two siblings didn't know what was going on, but when they saw tears welling up in their child's beady eyes, they started crying too. For a moment, the atmosphere was as if Zhou Qiuqiu had a terminal illness and was about to be buried.

Zhou Qiuqiu remained calm and gestured: "If you pull it out, I won't get old."

The cub cried as it pulled at the roots, pulling out almost ten, but all of them were the wrong ones.

The boy said guiltily, "Do you want to grow old, or become bald?"

Zhou Qiuqiu pulled the cub off its head, taking a few strands of hair with it. He pretended not to see it, then tucked the fluffy little dumpling into his arms.

Tell him to move around as little as possible if he has nothing to do.

The cub is still a bit of a worry. He can't carry anything on his shoulders or lift anything with his hands. He used to be able to help his father serve tea and water, but now he can't do that anymore and can only supervise.

Although supervising is a serious matter, the cub felt it was too unfriendly and that the little one wasn't being taken care of properly.

So Zhou Qiuqiu gave him another position, and from then on, the cubs would be responsible for distributing the food.

Zhou Qiuqiu praised him for being fair and never showing favoritism, saying that this was the most admirable virtue, as it ensured that everyone would have enough to eat and wouldn't go hungry.

Zai suddenly felt that his current job was of great significance.

But the next day, when they found some osmanthus cakes that someone had wrapped but hadn't eaten in the rubble, the cubs were in a dilemma.

Since there are only three servings of osmanthus cake, how can that be enough for four people to share?

Of course, the cub can distinguish the most equal sizes; he has learned arithmetic, and he is so clever.

But the cub secretly wanted to give Zhou Qiuqiu more.

He was biased.

He's not the fairest one.

But Zhou Qiujiu was so thin and so smart that she would hold him while he slept and gently groom his feathers.

The cub dejectedly carried the osmanthus cake home and pushed all the cakes in front of Zhou Qiuqiu.

Zhou Qiuqiu was taken aback, thinking that the cub had been bullied. Her expression darkened immediately, and she reached out and pressed the cub into her arms, wanting to check if he was injured anywhere.

As a result, tears as big as beans streamed down his face first. Heartbroken, he told Zhou Qiuqiu that he would never be able to share food again because he was a biased person.

"There are three pieces of osmanthus cake. I've tried them, and they're delicious. I want to give you the biggest piece."

"I'm biased, I'm a bad person."

Zhou Qiujiu felt her heart burning from the cub's tears.

This was the first time he had ever been shown favoritism.

He used to envy other people's children for having loved ones who doted on them.

But now, he has birds who love him.

Zhou Qiuqiu picked up the cub, shook her head, as if to tell him that it was okay.

Because he is the most sincere and adorable chubby bird who would never deceive his companions.
