Chapter 438 Dad has evolved!

But the two children who he imagined would be devoured by a terrifying monster are now perfectly at ease.

Monster Dad was still in a state of shock from having lost and found Zhou Jinze. He threw Zhou Jinze into a corner, turned around, and went upstairs with the cocoon in his arms.

As he walked further, the lights in the house lit up one by one with each step he took.

The cub returned to the room where he was "born".

The cocoon finally opened, the layers of arms dissipated, revealing the monster's cherished treasure.

The monster father held the curled-up cub with his normal arms, as if holding a baby in swaddling clothes. He lowered his head and used his cold lips to check the cub's body temperature.

"Dad, I'm all better now..."

As soon as the child finished speaking, pale fingers were pressed against the child's lips, as if the monster father was "shushing" him, telling him not to be anxious or afraid.

But it was Dad who couldn't control his emotions.

The cub saw those arms hidden behind its father, trembling incessantly, whether from excitement, exhilaration, or disbelief, it was hard to tell.

Seeing this, the cub buried its face in its father's chest, rubbing against him, trying to calm him down with this intimate touch.

The child's face was pressed against his father's chest. Although it was a little cold, this hug always made him feel safe.

Only then did Zai feel that he could completely relax and be a baby forever, a cub, and even if he never changed, he would be happy in his home, by his family's side.

The father seemed to realize that the baby would no longer disappear as easily as a fragile bubble, so he carefully carried the baby to the bed.

The monster dad has been honing his baby-care skills while waiting for his cub. He holds the baby in one arm and pats its back, while stretching out the other arm behind its back, quickly preparing a cup of warm milk for the baby.

"That's amazing..."

The moment the cub looked at him with such adoration, the monster dad was wide awake. He gently rocked the cub while performing various bedtime routines for him.

Because Dad has many hands, he can do many things at the same time: making soup, preparing baby food, sewing clothes, folding origami cranes, and making toys. The toddler is dazzled by all the activities and can only praise with one hand and then praise with the other.

At the end of the performance, the father even pulled over one of his own clothes. There was a faint wet stain on the black Tang suit. The little boy didn't understand what his father meant and turned to look at it.

"Yes, it's the baby's scent, the one from my dream..."

Could it be that in the male ghost father's world, that meeting wasn't actually an illusion?

He even secretly ran to his monster father's arms and cried that time.

Dad actually kept the clothes he had used to wipe his tears!

The cub silently tucked its legs in, trying to hide its head and toes in its bosom, like a boiled, limp shrimp.

He's so shy he's practically blushing!

The monster father leaned over to sniff the cub, and was in a very good mood:

"Baby, you smell like roasted baby food right now, it smells so good."

Cub: Hey, stop talking!

"Little one, there seems to be another smell on you..."

"It's changed, it's not the same as before..."

As the father sniffed, he buried his nose in the cub's neck, making the cub feel a little itchy, but the cub didn't dare to move, afraid that his father would discover some of the cub's secrets.

The child said cautiously:

"In the courtyard, playing with the other children..."

That's probably why there are other flavors.

But with the monster father's keen senses, he could certainly tell that this wasn't just a surface scent, but the smell of blood.

The baby's scent has become unfamiliar; this is not the baby's original body.

The father was silent for a moment, and just when the child thought his father was going to ask what had happened, the father simply patted the child's head and asked him:

"Does it still hurt every day now? Do you still need to sleep for long periods of time?"

The cub shook its head and said, "The cub is healthy."

He hugged his father's hand and let his father place his hand on his chest so he could feel his heartbeat.

Thump thump, still weak, but vivid and powerful heartbeat.

The father leaned close to the baby's body, gently placing his fingers on the baby's belly, as if afraid of being burned by such a fragile heartbeat.

As an immortal monster, he rejoices over such a frail life, yet is also wounded by its passing.

The shadow cast by the lamplight deepened the shadows on Dad's face, making him look like he was crying.

Even fallen gods have their moments of heartbreak.

The kitten reaches out its tiny hand and strokes its father's cool hair, just like a kitten obediently licking its adult cat's fur.

"Daddy, don't cry, don't cry, your son loves you."

The father asked, "Can my child and I always be together?"

The little boy nodded. Looking at his father like this, how could he possibly say no?

The monster, with eyes lowered like a bodhisattva, clung to the cub, as if it wanted to be inseparable from it. As usual, it mimicked the cub's clinging movements, kissing its cheeks and sticking close to it.

Just as the father and son were getting all lovey-dovey, there was another gentlemanly knock on the door:

Is the baby home?

The cub's eyes lit up: "Big brother!"

The older brother pushed open the door, and he looked exactly like the older brother the child remembered, unchanged.

The older brother didn't say anything else. He just stared at the child for a long time, seemingly to make sure the child wasn't hurt. Then he skipped over the heavy topics and smiled at the child, saying:

"It's good to be back. Welcome home."

The cub was very happy. Now he had a home to go back to. The cub crawled over to kiss his brother, then came back to kiss his father, and then yawned, too sleepy to stay awake any longer.
