Chapter 441 The Taste of Dad

"Really?"

The little guy clung to Osiris's hand and asked cautiously.

So it turns out this can be okay.

Qianyuan is afraid to see her fathers, not only because they argue and fight, but mainly because she is afraid that her fathers will become jealous and angry if they see her meeting other close family members.

In the end, they will be disappointed in him because of this and will not want him anymore.

How could that be?

Osiris smiled and said to the cub, "Even if one day, little one, does something wrong, as long as you are your father, you won't be angry."

What's wrong with kids being naughty?

"Is your father really that stingy? That's not good. You see, I should be more tolerant."

Osiris started praising someone while actually criticizing them halfway through his speech.

The cub, with its small head, didn't understand Osiris's true meaning and simply nodded.

"Yes, I like Daddy."

Osiris was satisfied and gently stroked the baby fish's tiny tail twice:

"Baby, why are you even smaller than before?"

The cub didn't know why it had shrunk, so it could only open its mouth and whimper, trying to eat some air to make itself fatter.

Osiris knew that eating air wouldn't make you fat, so he took some snacks from the cub's suitcase. Watching the cub eat with such gusto, completely absorbed in the snacks, Osiris couldn't resist trying some himself to see what the monster had made for the cub.

However, Osiris can't imitate this. It's another monster that the monster dad caught for his cub in the dungeon, and it contains energy.

Osiris discovered that although he didn't have prey containing that much energy, Osiris himself possessed immense energy.

He simply pricked his fingertip and squeezed out a little blood. The cubs came running at the smell, sucking on their father's fingertip with their little mouths. They seemed to have very few baby teeth and couldn't bite it at all. It was just a wet and fragile begging for food.

Osiris's heart softened instantly. Hearing the little creature's soft purring, he held it up to his face and said gently:

"Sweetie, slow down, no one's going to take it from you."

He let the little guy finish the drop of blood and then continued to nibble at his fingertips, greedily wanting the remaining blood.

The little guy couldn't even bite through his skin, so he let the little guy use him as a teething toy.

As Osiris watched the lively cubs, the pleasure he felt made him sing mermaid songs in the mermaid's own vocal range.

Clearly, Osiris was in a good mood, and the other races' kings throughout the Interstellar Court had all heard his song.

But none of them would become obsessed with the mermaid's song.

They are all clear-headed and important figures.

The cub was unaware of how close he was to his fathers, and Osiris hadn't told him where they were, since they would be going home soon. They were just spending the night here.

“Dad came here for a meeting and hasn’t said goodbye to anyone yet.”

Osiris briefly explained to the cub, who then retreated back into its shell. It was already a little sleepy, having been up all day and looking rather tired.

Osiris let him sleep in the shell, and the cub nodded, unaware that Osiris's eyes never left the cub's shell.

He caressed the seashell as if it were a rare treasure that had been lost and found, revealing a mixture of madness and tenderness in his eyes.

"Thank goodness you're back..."

Otherwise, the scene of sharing life and death might have been repeated by Osiris.

Meanwhile, the kings were still discussing Osiris's child.

Seeing the jealousy in the eyes of these high-ranking individuals, Long Qian couldn't help but sneer, "Since you're all so concerned about the Mermaid King's cub, why don't you go and take a look?"

The kings, who had just been in a daze, were now relaxed and carefree.

Chong Le Emperor's Way:

"No, they're not my own kids. I have no interest in taking care of children."

...

Osiris stayed with Qianyuan for a while, but suddenly a government matter came up that he had to deal with. He could only leave his servants to watch over the child and go and finish the matter as soon as possible.

The servant stood in the peaceful room, where the song that the king had been humming to the cubs still lingered. It was calming and hypnotic. The merfolk would not be affected by the song, but they could not help but relax after hearing it.

That's when the little guy woke up.

He's still just like his clingy baby before, needing his dad to hold him to sleep. As soon as his dad lets go and puts him on the bed, he immediately opens his eyes and wakes up.

The seashell opened a small crack.

The cub first peeked out with its cheeks to check, and only after confirming that its father was not there did it rub its eyes, drowsy and aggrieved, and slowly wag its tail to go find its father.

Osiris gave the cub the ability to levitate, so the little guy can float in the water by wagging his tail and swim at low altitude.

Because he was so small and flew so low, the sleepy servant didn't notice him at all, and the drowsy cub managed to slip away on his own.

The child followed his father's scent in the air and went into a room without even looking up.

Inside, the tent was warm and the incense burner was fragrant; someone was taking a nap on the couch.

The baby sniffed the familiar scent and snuggled into the other's arms, wagged its tail a couple of times, then closed its eyes and went back to sleep.

Emperor Chongle opened his eyes: "?"

He lowered his head, and before he knew it, a little guy with silver-white hair had crawled into his arms, curled up against his chest, and used his sleeve as a blanket.

For a moment, he thought his child had returned.

It wasn't until Emperor Chongle saw the cub's flowing azure fish tail that things changed.

Emperor Chongle did not show any disappointment. He simply watched the little guy's movements as he burrowed deeper and deeper into his sleeve as he slept, a thoughtful expression on his face.

Osiris went crazy searching for his child after returning home.

He turned his room upside down and threatened everyone else to come out, saying he would search them one by one.

The kings, however, seemed unfazed, perhaps remembering their own past outbursts of madness.

Only Emperor Chongle remained in his room, resting.

As Osiris passed by, a murderous intent already lurked in his bloodshot eyes:

"Where is the human emperor?"

The attendant standing outside the door said respectfully, "His Majesty is still asleep."

Osiris kicked the door open and saw Emperor Chongle staring intently at the cub in his arms, his fingers gently stroking the cub's bones.

"Damn it!" Osiris cursed in a vulgar mermaid language. "You bastard, give me back my cub!"

Emperor Chongle had already cultivated to the point of becoming an immortal, reaching the pinnacle of his cultivation. Now, he was not afraid of Osiris's threat at all. With a flick of his wrist, he unleashed a gust of wind to counter Osiris.

What are you doing here, acting crazy?

The commotion outside finally woke the cub up. The cub vaguely saw his merman father calling him anxiously, and the scent behind him was also his father's scent.
