Chapter 470, The Emperor's Father (Part 2), shuhaige.net

"grumble……"

The little one nudged Emperor Chongle gently, but Emperor Chongle's originally majestic body was as small as a floating leaf in front of the dragon, and he was swayed from side to side by the child's touch.

Emperor Chongle had no choice but to reach out and tug at the dragon's whiskers:

"Make it smaller."

Emperor Chongle raised his hand, making a circle with his thumb and the other four fingers, and faced Qianyuanlong.

The dragon gradually shrank to the size of a strong, golden-haired creature, and automatically placed its muzzle into its father's hand.

A hint of a smile appeared in Emperor Chongle's eyes:

"My sweet baby, my good baby..."

Upon hearing this, the dragon cub's tail, just like other people's golden retrievers, started thrashing around wildly.

That tail wasn't even good enough to whip someone; it even managed to knock off one of the armrests of the dragon throne with two sharp slaps.

Emperor Chongle is now immune to the extraordinary destructive power of his own children.

Anyway, their family is big and powerful, so damaging a little thing is a small matter. The kid didn't do anything bad; he just destroyed the house.

Emperor Chongle stroked the dragon cub's head, and the little guy squinted his eyes, trying to bury himself in Emperor Chongle's arms so that his father could rub his fur and scrape his scales.

Emperor Chongle eventually left with a dragon coiled around his waist.

The palace servants, watching the dragon-embroidered silhouette on His Majesty's back, couldn't help but chatter amongst themselves.

"Your Majesty truly lives up to his title. This is the true divine right of kings. Who else but our Emperor could possibly receive the favor bestowed upon His Highness the Little Dragon?"

Upon hearing this, Emperor Chongle shrank Qianyuan again, turning her into thin strips that he hung around his neck.

Anyway, taking care of the child always caused him pain in either his lower back or neck, but now that the baby is a little smaller, his back pain is finally not so bad.

After Qianyuan shrank, it seemed that even her mind shrank along with her. She then sat on Emperor Chongle's shoulder, biting her tail and spinning around.

He spun himself until he was dizzy and landed in Emperor Chongle's palm.

Looking at the dizzy, upside-down dragon cub, Emperor Chongle felt truly doomed. He even found such a clumsy child adorable.

He kissed the little dragon's head, and out of some mischievous impulse, Emperor Chongle even specially ordered someone to make a crown for the dragon to wear.

When the ministers attend court and face a "true dragon emperor" wearing a crown, what will they think?

Ning Guanyan didn't think much of it; he just felt like laughing.

What others might perceive as a dignified scene, he couldn't help but think of the little prince sleeping on his back, or burping while eating osmanthus cake, whenever he saw it.

He had to pinch his palm hard before he could kneel down solemnly and respectfully.

"Long live the Emperor! Long live the Emperor! Long live the Emperor!"

Qian Yuan could maintain a respectable demeanor in public, but after court, he could only transform into human form, hunch over his desk, and shout:

"Father! Father! Master Ning! Master Ning! I can't finish reviewing all these memorials! Waaaaaah!"

Emperor Chongle, the current emperor, leaned leisurely against the side, slowly peeling grapes for Qianyuan.

“Of course you’ll feel tired if you approve them one by one. Just ask the security department to discard the unimportant ones.”

"But when someone greets me, I have to be polite."

Qianyuan pulled at her hair and thought for a while, finally understanding the pain of working. Working was simply not something a human being could do!

Emperor Chongle fed the peeled grapes to Qianyuan's lips, and the little guy caught them and ate them. He was so anxious that a thin layer of sweat appeared on his forehead, and his sideburns were stuck to his cheeks. The hair that his father had tied up for him was pulled out into a mess by himself. He was clearly an emperor, but his expression was still like that of a boy who could not finish writing characters.

Ning Guanyan's heart softened, and he was about to lend a hand to help Qian Yuan share some of the burden, but before he could even touch the memorial, the little guy suddenly sprang up:

"I see!"

He ran out barefoot, making a series of clattering sounds on the wooden planks, and then Qian Yuan's obsequious voice came from outside the door, begging the guards to carve a seal for him.

Upon hearing this, Ning Guanyan turned and looked at Emperor Chongle with a mischievous grin:

"Before the young prince appeared, this palace was so lonely and empty... But now you shouldn't find it boring, right?"

Emperor Chongle shook his head, looked at the grapes in his hand, and slowly said:

"My life and my blood have found their home. I'm just worried that I won't be able to let go of it when the time comes..."

He worried that if he were to pass away before Qianyuan, he would be reluctant to let the little one face a life without family alone.

He worried that in the end, he would personally take Qianyuan with him.

He loved Qianyuan too much.

They also know their own nature.

But the lives of mortals are far too short for true dragons.

Emperor Chongle did not want to be just an insignificant figure in Qianyuan's life.

They were discussing a heavy topic when the little guy's light footsteps approached from afar. He had already run back, stamping each of the newly printed little red flower seals on the memorials of greetings to indicate that he had read them.

After pressing the paper, he secretly took Emperor Chongle's hand and pressed a red flower onto the back of his hand.

Emperor Chongle looked down at his child, just as Qianyuan looked up and smiled at him.

The little guy seems to have already sensed Emperor Chongle's worries:

"Father, shall we cultivate immortality together? We'll live for a very, very long time, and stay together forever."

Emperor Chongle looked at Qianyuan and grasped his hand without hesitation, as if he would risk his life even if faced with mountains of knives and seas of fire.

"good."

...

Much later.

Emperor Chongle ascended to heaven and cultivated himself into an immortal.

When he took Qianyuan with him through the small world, he arrived at Qianyuan's original home.

The small, narrow basement where Qianyuan used to live is now filled with all sorts of garbage and can no longer be entered.
