Chapter 11 Something's fishy going on!

A few days later.

The southern part of Ziyun City.

Su Yang and Su Lingxue strolled leisurely down the street. To be honest, Su Yang rarely had the leisure to take walks after arriving in this world. He spent his days tediously honing his strength in the Su family and listening to the flattery of the elders. It was good for him to take a walk occasionally.

At least, he had his younger sister with him.

The streets here are wide, and there are many pedestrians on the roadside, who all hold Su Lingxue in great awe. Having left the Su family home, and especially under Su Yang's protection, Su Lingxue finally looks like a twelve or thirteen-year-old child, and soon she has many interesting toys in her hands.

"Grandpa! This sugar figurine is delicious, you should try it!" Su Lingxue skipped over with the sugar figurine and handed one to Su Yang.

"Okay!" Su Yang nodded.

One bite and the sweet taste immediately filled his mouth. Su Yang hadn't experienced this kind of sweetness in a long time; it felt as if the sweetness had reached his very heart.

"Is it delicious?" Su Lingxue asked with a smile on her face.

"Of course it's delicious." Su Yang nodded with a smile.

He might be past the age of eating such things, but since Su Lingxue gave them to him, he would naturally eat them. In particular, eating such sugar figurines inevitably brought back many memories for him.

When he was very young, he would take his younger sister to the stalls in the old neighborhood, and they would each buy a small sugar figurine...

As the two passed a stall, the owner, a middle-aged man, stood inside, waving at Su Lingxue with a kind smile on his face.

"Young Miss! What brings you here today?" the man greeted her with a smile.

"Hello, Uncle Guo!" Su Lingxue went up to greet him.

Seeing this, the middle-aged man's smile became even more hearty.

He quickly noticed Su Yang and asked with a smile, "This young man looks unfamiliar?"

Su Yang nodded and said, "I haven't been here long."

Uncle Guo laughed and said, "Is that so? Then you'll have to explore Ziyun City properly. Our Ziyun City has beautiful mountains and rivers, and plenty of delicious food!"

Su Yang smiled and said, "I do have some experience with that."

Um?

As soon as he finished speaking, Su Yang immediately noticed that Uncle Guo and the two young men in his stall didn't seem to be in good spirits. Could it be that their line of work is very tiring?

Su Yang didn't mince words and asked directly, "Uncle Guo, have you been very tired lately? You don't seem to be doing well."

Upon hearing this, Uncle Guo's smile faded slightly: "It's strange, really. For some reason, the livestock in the house have been unusually active these past two days, especially at night when they're even noisier. I can't sleep at all."

Upon hearing this, Su Lingxue said curiously, "Huh? I seem to have heard the servants in my household say that the livestock in Ziyun City have indeed been a bit excited lately."

Uncle Guo nodded and said, "Yes, it's not just our family, the other families are the same. They all say that if these livestock continue to make such a racket, they will kill them and sell them."

For these ordinary people, the livestock at home are basically kept for slaughter and celebrations, so selling them wouldn't bring in much money. But if they don't sell them, the livestock will disrupt their daily lives, making it a losing proposition.

Su Yang remained silent.

Something unusual is definitely going on! All the livestock in Ziyun City are restless; something must have disturbed them. You see, livestock are far more sensitive to danger than humans!

However, he didn't understand this thoroughly enough, nor did he know what would happen.

"Could it be..."

Su Yang gazed northwards.

After shopping, Su Lingxue happily carried a bunch of things back to her residence, while Su Yang headed towards the Elder Hall.

Inside the Elders' Hall.

Elder Su Huang had been handling internal affairs of the Su family in the Elder Hall almost every day for over ten years. When he saw Su Yang enter, Su Huang looked flattered and hurriedly put down what he was doing and stepped forward.

"Su Huang pays respects to the Ancestor!"

Su Yang casually pointed: "Get up."

After Su Huang stood up, he clasped his hands in greeting and asked, "May I ask what brings you here today, Ancestor?"

Su Yang sat on the elder's chair and said, "I heard today that there have been many unusual movements among the livestock in Ziyun City. Have you found out the reason?"

Upon hearing this, Su Huang frowned.

He did receive two miscellaneous messages about such matters, but he didn't care about mere livestock and just told his servants to keep a close watch on them.

Why would the patriarch ask him about such trivial matters? Could there be some secret behind it?

Su Huang shook his head and said, "These things have happened recently, but we haven't figured out the reason. I wonder if there's anything different about why the Ancestor is asking about this?"

Su Yang said calmly, "It seems the Su family's intelligence gathering is inadequate."

Upon hearing these words, Su Huang's heart trembled, and he hurriedly knelt down at Su Yang's feet.

"Su Huang has acted inappropriately; please forgive him, Ancestor!"

Su Yang waved his hand, stood up and said, "There's no need to investigate who's responsible for this, but I'll just say one thing, so listen carefully."

Su Huang raised his head and looked at Su Yang.

At this moment, Su Yang said calmly, "Something unusual must be going on!"

Something unusual must be going on!

Su Huang was taken aback for a moment, then respectfully kowtowed to Su Yang.

"Su Huang, I will heed the teachings of the Ancestor!"

Su Yang glanced calmly at Su Huang, then slowly walked out of the Elder Hall.

Seeing Su Yang leave the main hall, Su Huang finally breathed a sigh of relief. However, he quickly became wary again.

Su Yang was reminding him!

If these livestock are behaving abnormally because something has frightened them and could intimidate the entire Ziyun City, then it must be an extremely terrifying entity! If Su Yang hadn't reminded him, he probably wouldn't have cared at all! After all, such trivial matters usually don't even catch his eye.
