Chapter 986: Do This Business?
Zhao Ling rushed to Jinzhou without stopping. The cold wind along the way almost froze his face.
When he thought of the "business" those people talked about, his blood began to boil.
Before nightfall, Zhao Ling arrived at Prince Zhao's Mansion in Jinzhou.
"Crown Prince"
As soon as the doorman opened his mouth, Zhao Ling had already thrown the reins to him and walked quickly inside without saying a word.
"Where is my father?" Zhao Ling asked as he walked.
The servant beside him was confused and replied, "The prince is discussing matters in the study."
Before Zhao Ling could finish his words, he had already started running!
The servants were dumbfounded and looked at each other.
What happened to the prince?
After an incense stick of time, Zhao Ling finally ran to the outside of King Zhao's study.
"Prince, the prince has ordered that no one is allowed to enter without his summons." King Zhao's personal guard stopped Zhao Ling.
On any other day, Zhao Ling would have politely told the other person that he was willing to wait, but today, Zhao Ling simply waved his hand and pushed the person away. "Get out of the way! This prince has something extremely important to tell my father immediately!"
Not only did he push the person, but he also made a loud noise, just to attract the attention of King Zhao in the house.
"Let him in." King Zhao's voice came quickly.
The guards, who were in a dilemma, quickly let him go.
Zhao Ling hurriedly pushed the door open and walked in.
All the officials and staff in the room looked at him. Zhao Ling stood before King Zhao with his head held high and his chest puffed out, saying in a sonorous and powerful voice, "Father, I have great news!"
"Well, then tell me, what kind of news could make you disregard etiquette and be so presumptuous outside my study?" King Zhao asked without even raising his eyelids.
Zhao Ling immediately knelt on the ground and said, "Father, please understand this matter will be of great benefit to our Zhao army. I have no choice but to do this."
King Zhao finally raised his eyes and stared at him solemnly, but did not speak again.
Zhao Ling was very confident at this time. He raised his head and said loudly: "Father, the former crown prince sent someone to discuss a business with us."
At first, when King Zhao heard that Sheng Ze was the one who instigated this matter, he raised his eyebrows in surprise, but the more he listened to Zhao Ling, the more he became restless.
By the time Zhao Ling finished speaking, King Zhao had already stood up, staring at him intently and asking, "Did they really say they were willing to sell us a batch of gunpowder weapons?"
"Yes!" Zhao Ling nodded vigorously. "And they brought some weapons with them. I saw them with my own eyes, and they're even more powerful than the legends say!"
The weapons that Chenchen brought were discarded by the Hubei Northern Army, including only guns and some improved weapons, but not bombs or the like.
"They also want us to buy their warm clothing and high-yield crop seeds," King Zhao asked again.
Zhao Ling nodded again, "Yes! They're all wearing the things those people mentioned a few days ago that can generate heat when bent. This is also on their trading list!"
At this point, Zhao Ling slapped his head and said, "I was so anxious on my way that I forgot about this. This is the list of items they are doing business with us this time. Father, please take a look."
King Zhao took it and quickly scanned it. Besides weapons, warm clothing, and seeds, there were also medicines. It seemed that Shengze, the young man, had been planning this for a long time!
King Zhao was thinking about whether to do this business or not.
Shengze's conspiracy put him in a dilemma.
This was clearly an attempt to extort money from him, and even a fool could tell that the weapons sold to Prince Zhao's army were likely inferior to those currently used by the Hubei Northern Army.
But even though he knew this, he still couldn't refuse.
"Father, let's do this business with them," Zhao Ling couldn't help but ask when he saw that he had been silent.
