Chapter 129 Deputy Section Chief Wang is actually a sharpshooter

The moment Wang Dabao landed in the bushes, the two doors on the side of the jeep in front opened simultaneously.

Section Chief Hu and a team member with combat experience quickly rolled into the roadside bushes.

This escort mission involved 22 people, including two security chiefs. With such a force, they were not afraid even if the enemy outnumbered them twice as many.

The surroundings were silent. The team members hid in the car with their guns on guard, while Wang Dabao, Section Chief Hu, and others listened to the sounds around them. They did not believe that the truck's tire blowout here was a coincidence.

Time passed second by second, and Wang Dabao's legs were almost numb from squatting. The only sound around him was the chirping of insects.

The fact that the other side chose to launch the sneak attack on the last stretch of road just before leaving the woods speaks volumes about their cunning, and now puts even more pressure on the security department transporting the workpieces.

Both sides are waiting for the other to make a mistake first, and then looking for a breakthrough.

Listening to the chirping of insects, Wang Dabao gently moved his leg and suddenly remembered the little green snake he had encountered in the woods on the island that morning.

Could we bring it over here and let it help us locate the enemy?

Without hesitation, Wang Dabao conjured up a small green snake in the nearby bushes in the blink of an eye.

What surprised Wang Dabao even more was that when he focused on communicating with the little green snake, he saw in his mind the little green snake's perception of the surrounding environment.

This is practically like giving Wang Dabao night vision goggles!

Wang Dabao controlled the little green snake to move quickly through the grass and soon spotted the first enemy.

The little green snake couldn't see the other person's face clearly, but it could clearly sense a humanoid, feverish body lying on the ground, using the trees and bushes as cover to observe the vehicles and escorts on the road.

It was obvious that there was more than one enemy. Wang Dabao calculated the distance between himself and the enemy and realized that he could kill him with a single shot, but he did not want to alert the enemy.

Afterwards, he controlled the little green snake again to search for other robbers. Seven or eight minutes later, Wang Dabao found a total of twelve robbers, two of whom were even hiding in the trees.

Unfortunately, the two people hiding in the tree were right within Wang Dabao's shooting range.

Wang Dabao was somewhat annoyed. He should have listened to Li Baoguo and brought a mortar to fire a couple of shots at the enemy. That would have been so much more exciting.

He wasn't going to wait any longer and was prepared to catch the other party off guard.

"Bang! Bang!"

In the silent night, two gunshots rang out like thunder in everyone's ears.

Immediately afterwards, with two thuds, the two human targets on the tree fell down and crashed heavily to the ground.

"Fifth brother, old..."

"Bang!"

Just as one of the robbers got up, before he could even grieve, Wang Dabao shot him between the eyebrows, sending him to reunite with his brother who had just died.

When Wang Dabao fired the first shot, Feng Biao led the security team members to quickly get out of the car and find cover.

Immediately, gunshots rang out, the bangs echoing incessantly.

The bullet struck the vehicle's metal, making a crisp sound.

In the ensuing melee, Wang Dabao had emptied a magazine. With the help of the little green snake's senses, although he couldn't hit his target every time, he still managed to eliminate four more robbers.

Another robber was blindly shot and killed by a member of the security team.

The number of robbers has now decreased from twelve to four.

After realizing that the hijacking mission was impossible, the four tried to fight their way back, but they were suppressed by the firepower of the security department and could not break free for a while.

After a stalemate, Wang Dabao killed two more of the four men.

"Holy crap, Da Bao, I knew you were good, but I didn't know you were this good."

Section Chief Hu approached Wang Dabao and sighed, then changed the subject, "Don't kill them all, leave one alive."

Wang Dabao knew the importance of keeping them alive, but the other side had guns, and he didn't want to see any casualties in the security department even more than keeping them alive.

Section Chief Hu signaled to his team members to cease fire.

The gunshots ceased, and the surroundings fell silent once more, save for the rustling of branches swaying and rubbing together; even the chirping of insects was gone.

Section Chief Hu summoned Feng Biao and ordered him to lead his team to circle around and ambush the robbers from behind.

Feng Biao and his men took a step forward. The robbers seemed to hear footsteps approaching, and then they heard the robbers shout, "Don't...don't shoot, we surrender."

Even after the robbers shouted that they were surrendering, Feng Biao and his men still cautiously surrounded them.

Twenty minutes later, the two robbers were knocked unconscious, tied up, and taken to the truck.

After the team members surveyed the scene, they discovered that nine of the ten dead robbers had died from being shot in the forehead.

On the security department's side, only one member had an arm injury.

After a while, everyone knew that Deputy Section Chief Wang was a sharpshooter. Of the twenty-man team that killed ten of the robbers, Deputy Section Chief Wang alone accounted for nine.

The way everyone looked at Wang Dabao changed again.

Many people had an "I see" expression, as if to say, "So the rumor that Deputy Section Chief Wang killed four or five hundred Japanese soldiers on the battlefield is actually true."

The team included members skilled in bandaging and also carried a first-aid kit, so the injured team members received treatment quickly.

After changing the tires, the convoy continued its journey.

Many team members were too excited by the gunfight to fall asleep, and the most talked-about topic among them was, of course, Deputy Section Chief Wang.

The deputy section chief they were talking about fell into a deep sleep as soon as he got on the bus.

Wang Dabao didn't wake up until dawn.

Looking at the time, it was almost six in the morning, and the convoy should be arriving at the port soon.

When the convoy entered the port, the ship was already waiting. Without any delay, everyone got out of the car and took up arms to stand guard. Section Chief Hu boarded the ship to hand over the workpiece, and then the workpiece was transferred.

After the boat slowly left, Section Chief Hu finally let out a long sigh of relief and turned to look at Wang Dabao beside him.

"The reason this escort went so smoothly is entirely thanks to you, kid. As the saying goes, brute force can overcome any skill. Today I've truly seen something amazing."

Section Chief Hu was telling the truth. If it weren't for Wang Dabao, the sharpshooter, some members of the security department might have lost their lives in this raid.

Then, Section Chief Hu gestured to Wang Dabao as if he were smoking, and continued, "With this achievement, after I step down, you will definitely take the position of section chief. Don't worry about the higher-ups sending someone down again."

Wang Dabao nodded: "Actually, I don't really care about being a section chief or not. Being a deputy section chief is fine too. If something goes wrong, you, as the section chief, will take the blame."

"Hmph, if something goes wrong, you'll be the first one thrown out to take the fall." Section Chief Hu sneered. "Stop dawdling and get out your cigarettes."

"So all that buildup was just for the sake of smoking this cigarette?"

Wang Dabao lit one for himself and tossed the rest to Section Chief Hu. "Just hand over the ones in the woods to the local police station. As for the two survivors on the truck, should we handle them ourselves, or should we go back and hand them over to Chief Zhao?"

"Give it to Lao Zhao. It's probably going to get a lot involved. Let the police deal with it. We'll just have to cooperate if needed."
