Chapter 267 Yi Zhonghai and Xu Damao's Plan in Progress

"Old Yi, you've given me quite a surprise. You've really worked hard. Just for your dedication and hard work, this class definitely needs to be well-organized."

As Director Zhou flipped through the documents, he spoke with a beaming smile.

Hearing this, Yi Zhonghai was secretly pleased, but said modestly, "Director Zhou, you flatter me. It's nothing, it's all what I should do. As long as it can improve the overall technical level of our workshop, that's all that matters."

The two were chatting happily when suddenly a commotion broke out outside.

Director Zhou frowned and patted Yi Zhonghai's arm: "Old Yi, wait for me, I'm going out to see what's going on."

After leaving the office, I learned from Director Zhou's inquiry that several young workers were arguing about a technical issue. Each side had its own reasons, and neither side would give in.

Director Zhou had been a director for many years and was no longer up-to-date with technical issues. He wanted to explain to these people, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Suddenly, he slapped his forehead. Wasn't there a "big shot" of an eighth-grade worker sitting in the office? How could he have forgotten about him?

He hurriedly strode back to the office and dragged Yi Zhonghai out.

Yi Zhonghai followed them out looking bewildered. After overhearing the questions being discussed by the young workers, he suddenly understood and began to explain.

To say that Yi Zhonghai's level 8 fitter certification is somewhat exaggerated is true, but not by much.

After all, the truly skilled people all went to develop the Great Northwest.

His insightful yet simple analysis enlightened several young workers.

Director Zhou listened attentively and nodded repeatedly. Even someone like him who had been away from a technical position for many years could understand the explanation and ask questions based on it. It has to be said that Yi Zhonghai is indeed capable.

"Old Yi, you're starting to teach now. It seems this formal course will definitely be very rewarding for everyone, and it will greatly improve the workers' skills."

After the two returned to the office, Director Zhou poured hot tea for Yi Zhonghai.

"Old Yi, I suddenly had an idea. I'm planning to spread the word about this class throughout the entire factory so that fitters from other workshops can come and listen when they have time, and we can all learn and discuss together. What do you think?"

"Director Zhou, I'll listen to you. I strongly agree with your idea, and I welcome fellow fitters to discuss technical experiences together." Yi Zhonghai nodded hurriedly, indicating that Director Zhou's idea was excellent.

Yi Zhonghai was secretly delighted. This was like a pillow being delivered just when he was sleepy. This would surely increase his prestige in the factory.

After leaving the office, Yi Zhonghai's lips curled into a slight smile.

He knew that taking the initiative to give lectures would not only allow him to impress his superiors but also enhance his prestige among his colleagues, achieving multiple benefits in one fell swoop.

When the workers in the workshop saw Yi Zhonghai come out of the director's office, they all speculated whether this level eight fitter had received some special treatment.

After the events of the past two days, Yi Zhonghai is now highly respected in the workshop, and many of his coworkers greet him as he walks around.

"Master, where are you going?"

When Jia Dongxu saw Yi Zhonghai coming over, he immediately went up to him.

Yi Zhonghai was startled, realizing he had almost forgotten something, but it was still not too late to make amends.

"Dongxu, go and call your senior brothers over. I have something to tell you."

Jia Dongxu didn't understand, but he still did as Yi Zhonghai said.

Before long, four of Yi Zhonghai's disciples, including Jia Dongxu, gathered around him.

Yi Zhonghai took out the materials and placed them in front of the group: "These are the technical materials I compiled last night. The four of you should find paper and pen to copy them and take them back with you. Review them whenever you have time. This will greatly help improve your skills."

The four apprentices were extremely grateful and kept flattering Yi Zhonghai.

It's too difficult to learn a skill from Yi Zhonghai. That old man doesn't teach properly at all. When you ask him questions, his answers are either vague or too general, leaving you confused.

Afterwards, Yi Zhonghai explained some techniques to the four that were not found in the materials. Except for Jia Dongxu, the other three people suddenly understood.

"I plan to give a lecture on theoretical techniques and practical operations to my colleagues in the workshop over the next two days. I will be talking about what's in the materials."

Yi Zhonghai slowly began, “But you are my apprentices, and I will pass on the best techniques to you. These are the points I just mentioned. You must practice diligently to master them and strive to achieve good results in the next assessment.”

The four dispersed, each with their own thoughts.

They originally thought that their master, Yi Zhonghai, was going to teach them the real techniques, but that wasn't the case at all. He just revealed the techniques he was going to share to them before the sharing session.

Although a few points were revealed, it didn't significantly improve their skills.

Seeing that the preparations were almost complete, Yi Zhonghai felt much more at ease, but he still couldn't help but worry about Xu Damao and the others' screening plan, fearing that the neighbors in the compound would be won over by Xu Damao.

On the other hand, Xu Damao took two packs of cigarettes to his boss as soon as he arrived at work.

After Xu explained his intentions, the leader readily agreed out of consideration for the cigarettes, praised Xu Damao a couple of times, and then instructed him that working in the compound was different from working in the countryside, and that he must take good care of the machinery.

Xu Damao began to meticulously plan the screening program.

He gathered various film materials, planning to select the most attractive ones.

Now that the venue layout and the details of maintaining order during the screenings have been planned, he doesn't need to worry about the cleanliness of the compound. All he needs to do is ensure the smooth operation of the screenings.

Xu Damao hummed a little tune as he arrived at the warehouse where the film was stored.

The warehouse manager saw him and joked, "Da Mao, which commune are you going to visit this time?"

Xu Damao casually tossed him a cigarette and said, "This time we're not going to the countryside; we'll stay in our courtyard."

"Oh dear, then we'll have to show two good movies."

"It has to be good, otherwise how can it live up to the expectations of everyone in the hospital who are eagerly looking forward to watching the movie?"

Xu Damao spoke of this with a bit of pride, then carefully examined the rows of film racks, his fingers lightly tracing over each film canister.

"Underground Vanguard, Heroes and Heroines—these are all too familiar. Showing movies like these in the countryside would easily get us criticized. No way..."

Xu Damao muttered to himself.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he pulled out a box of film reels, a smug smile spreading across his face. "This is it, 'The Female Barber,' suitable for all ages, everyone will definitely love it."

"And this one, 'The Red Guards of Honghu Lake'."

Xu Damao returned to the equipment room excitedly with the film reel in his arms, already able to imagine the scene of everyone cheering and jumping for joy during the screening.

He carefully placed the film on the equipment table and then began inspecting the projector. As he wiped the lens, he thought about how to add some more excitement to the screening.
