Busy hanging the clothes to dry in the backyard, Qin Huairu quickly grabbed a basket and went to Sha Zhu's house.
Since Sha Zhu has agreed, it's best to hurry up and get it, lest he forget about it again in a couple of days.
"Zhu Zi, what you just said is true, right? I've come to get some coal, and I'll pay you back when I have some at home."
Since Sha Zhu didn't have a curtain, Qin Huairu saw that the door was ajar and simply pushed it open and went inside.
Sha Zhu had just gotten home and started the stove, with water boiling on it and an aluminum lunchbox warming up next to it.
He was lying on the bed with his legs crossed, engrossed in reading a comic book. He was waiting for He Yushui to come back from her holiday.
"Oh, it's Sister Qin! I was wondering why there was a fragrant breeze coming into this room."
Sha Zhu chuckled as he got out of bed, tossed the book aside, and found a stool for Qin Huairu. "Sister Qin, please sit down. What brings you here to your brother?!"
After saying that, Sha Zhu saw the basketball hoop at Qin Huairu's feet and slapped his forehead: "Oh dear, I was so engrossed in reading that I didn't hear what you said. Sister Qin, please don't mind."
Qin Huairu smiled, but didn't respond to Sha Zhu's words: "I didn't know you liked reading, Zhu Zi!"
"Hey, what's the point of reading? We're just waiting for school to let out after the rain. It's pointless, just killing time."
"Zhu Zi, Sister Qin came to borrow some coal from you. I'll definitely pay you back once we have some at home." Qin Huairu smiled and brought up the purpose of her trip again.
Everyone in the compound understood what Qin Huairu meant by "borrowing," and Sha Zhu was no exception.
"Sister Qin, you're being too polite. It's just a few pieces of coal. We used it, so what? Don't compare me to that kid Xu Damao."
Sha Zhu chuckled and didn't forget to badmouth Xu Damao in front of Qin Huairu before taking the basket aside and starting to load it with coal.
