Chapter 302 The Deaf Old Woman Educates Liu Haizhong

Liu Guangtian's actions could no longer be considered peeping; they were blatant staring, which naturally alerted Qin Huairu.

After all, Sha Zhu and Xu Damao had taken advantage of Qin Huairu in many roundabout ways, using a variety of methods, which had long since honed her keen senses.

Qin Huairu straightened up and glared at Liu Guangtian. In her eyes, Liu Guangtian was still a child, so she didn't want to say anything too harsh: "Guangtian, you're not that old, can't you learn something good? How do you look up to Sister Qin?"

Liu Guangtian was caught peeking and scratched his head awkwardly, "Sister Qin, I...I wasn't looking, I was just watching you wash the pots."

"If you keep doing this, go back. I don't need your help anymore."

Qin Huairu snorted, lowered her head and continued washing the pot, ignoring Liu Guangtian.

Liu Guangtian was a little embarrassed, so he threw his cigarette on the ground and stomped it out: "Sister Qin, you take a break, I'll do the brush."

Just then, Sha Zhu returned from the backyard, wearing a green cotton-padded coat.

Seeing Liu Guangtian washing the pot, Qin Huairu, who was standing next to him supporting her back, was taken aback.

"Hey, Guangtian, you're something else, you even know how to help your Sister Qin with chores?"

Sha Zhu's words were full of jealousy.

"Hey, Sha Zhu, are you out of your mind? Will you die if you don't talk in a sarcastic way?" Liu Guangtian retorted without even looking up.

Sha Zhu glanced at Liu Guangtian, snorted, and then said to Qin Huairu, "Sister Qin, this kid is no good. It's best to stay away from him if you don't have to."

Qin Huairu shook her head helplessly, "Zhuzi, don't talk like that. We're all neighbors in the same courtyard. Guangtian is just following an old man's instructions to come and help me with some chores."

"No wonder he's been so diligent today. It turns out it was Liu Haizhong who ordered him to do it. So the beating he got last night wasn't for nothing."

Sha Zhu shook his head and chuckled, "Alright, you guys go ahead and I'm going back to cook. It's the weekend, and Yu Shui is at home."

"Get out of here, you're just an eyesore."

Liu Guangtian muttered to himself, staring at Sha Zhu's retreating figure.

Liu Guangtian continued scrubbing the pot, then threw the brush down and said, "Sister Qin, you'd better keep an eye on things. Sha Zhu may look silly, but he's actually quite cunning."

"This is Qin Jie. Other brothers would never say this, but given your family's current situation, Sha Zhu definitely has the intention to take advantage of the situation."

"What kind of opportunistic thinking is this?"

Qin Huairu looked confused and frowned as she asked Liu Guangtian, "My family is going through such a thing, and everyone is helping us out. Look, even you have been sent over by an old man."

Liu Guangtian's face scrunched up: "Oh dear, Sister Qin, how can you not understand? This silly Zhu has been harboring ill intentions towards you for a long time. Just be careful and don't let him take advantage of you."

"Don't let him take advantage of you. Didn't you just take advantage of me?"

Qin Huairu chuckled and said that when it came to talking about this kind of thing, Liu Guangtian was just a noob in front of her.

After making Liu Guangtian extremely embarrassed once again, the two of them joined hands and placed the large iron pot on the makeshift stove in front of the Jia family's door.

"Alright, Guangtian, you can go ahead and get busy. Sister Qin can handle the rest by herself."

Qin Huairu waved her hand and spoke politely to Liu Guangtian.

Liu Guangtian reached for a cigarette but found nothing. He sighed and said, "Alright, Sister Qin, that's all for now. Call me if you need anything. But you should think carefully about what I told you about Sha Zhu. Don't let that idiot take advantage of the situation."

"Alright, Zhu Zi isn't the kind of person you're describing."

"Fine, forget I said anything."

Liu Guangtian turned and left in a huff.

At this moment, Liu Haizhong had just entered the deaf old lady's home.

"Grandma, I just got back from outside and sent my husband over to apologize to you." As soon as Liu Haizhong pushed open the door, he shouted, startling the deaf old woman who had just been dozing off. She jumped up from the kang (a heated brick bed).

It took her several seconds to catch her breath before she saw Liu Haizhong standing in front of her, her mind still replaying what she had just heard.

The deaf old woman, her hand trembling with anger, pointed at Liu Haizhong: "Are you trying to scare me to death? I think you're up to no good. Why don't you grab a megaphone and shout in my ear, Liu!"

"You might as well scare me to death, so I won't have to keep sleeping all the time because of the noise from your house."

"Oh dear, old lady, I had no idea what was going on."

The deaf old woman's actions also startled Liu Haizhong. It turned out that she was upset because he had spoken too loudly when he entered the room. "I was just worried that you might not be able to hear well, so I thought I would speak louder. Well, it was my fault. Please don't hold it against me."

As he spoke, Liu Haizhong shifted his leg and sat down on the kang (a heated brick bed).

"Don't try to fool me. If you've come here to apologize, you should show some remorse. What, did you even get on the bed?"

The deaf old woman was very dissatisfied with Liu Haizhong's smiling appearance. "Look at you, you'd look better with a straight face. You think you can act like a big shot? I think you're not even as good as Zhonghai."

After saying that, the deaf old woman snorted coldly and turned her head to the side.

"Alright, old lady, I've only just become the oldest man in this compound, and you're already finding fault with everything I do, looking down on me for no reason."

Liu Haizhong grabbed some peanuts from the kang (heated brick bed) and started eating, muttering to himself, "I know you like Yi Zhonghai, but he's been removed from office, and it'll be hard for him to come back up!"

"So, ma'am, you should get used to it quickly. Besides, I'm no worse than Lao Yi. Look how much this movie screening event has brought to our compound."

"I saw you grinning with your dentures on when we went to the movies last time."

The deaf old woman reached out and slapped the peanuts out of Liu Haizhong's hand, glaring at him and saying, "Let's not talk about showing movies for now, let's talk about you beating your kids at night. You know you're a grown man, and these two brats are howling like ghosts in the middle of the night, didn't you think about disturbing everyone?!"

Liu Haizhong didn't mind the deaf old woman calling Liu Guangtian and his brother "bastards." As long as she didn't call him a "bastard," he wouldn't talk back.

Liu Haizhong said with a forced smile, "Grandma, I was just furious at the time. These two boys are always going astray, and I had to teach them a lesson."

"You're just trying to argue with me, an old lady. What kind of father are you?"

The deaf old woman glared at him. "A father who is not kind and a son who is not filial, let me tell you, if there is a next time, I will never let you off easily. I will lie down at your doorstep and let everyone see how you act as an old man."

Liu Haizhong hurriedly nodded in agreement, inwardly cursing the old bastard.

After leaving the deaf old woman's house, Liu Haizhong's face darkened.

There was nothing he could do; he was truly at a loss for words when faced with such an old lady. He couldn't do anything about it, since he was now a grown man.

If it were still the same Second Uncle, he would never have given the deaf old woman a second glance when she threw a tantrum.
